Chapter 298
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 41. Testing Sophiaâs Patience
With a casual gesture, Frank motioned for the driver to get off.
âCan you drive it, Sir? Trucks are different from regular cars.â
The old driver sounded worried. He didnât want the vehicle to support his family having problems. If the pay wasnât so big, he wouldnât have allowed someone else to drive.
âDonât worry, Sir. I can even fly a plane.â
In a blink of an eye, Frank got behind the wheel. Then he easily brought the truck in. Sophia was waiting on the porch.
âWelcome, Frank Harper. I am glad you come to visit my house.â Sophia smiled sweetly.
Frank snorted faintly. âI came to visit my mother,â he emphasized, before slamming the truck door.
âIsnât that the same thing?â Sophia raised an eyebrow then swung her palm backwards. âPlease come in. I have prepared dinner to welcome
you.â
âIt seems you still donât understand. I came to visit my mother, not accompany you to dinner.â
The curve of Sophiaâs lips turned stiff. âWould it hurt if we had dinner first? Your mother just fell asleep. She didnât have time to rest this afternoon. You couldnât possibly have the heart to wake her up, right?â
âThen, youâd better order your men to take my motherâs things down now. So when my mother wakes up, we can immediately arrange them.â
Sophia blinked with a frozen expression. âCanât you relax for a

moment? We can do that after eating.â
âNo,â Frank shook his head firmly, âI canât accept your invitation to dinner if the truck hasnât been unloaded. I donât want to increase my
debt.â
Sophia let out a faint breath. However, the twinkle in her eyes grew brighter. The harder Frank was to her, the greater her desire to conquer him.
âHow about we just take the middle way? Iâll tell my men to unload the truck, but you have to eat with me while theyâre working.â
Frank lowered his eyebrows for a moment. âThat makes sense,â he muttered, making Sophiaâs smile widen.
âGood. Then,â she snapped her fingers. A servant rushed over.
Unload the things from the truck. Put them in the hall to Mrs. Harrisâs
room.â
âOkay, Miss.â
Blinking gently, Sophia turned to face Frank. âHow is it, Mr. Harper? Can we start dinner now?â
Frank gritted his teeth. His hands were clenched into fists in
compulsion. âPromise not to stall. As soon as my mother wakes up, I want to see her right away.â
âSure.â
With a triumphant smile, Sophia reached out her hand. However, before she managed to touch the strong arm that she always wanted to hold, Frank moved away.
âShow me where the dining room is.
Sophiaâs hand froze in the air. While forcing a smile, she pointed her five fingers in a direction.

âThis way.â
Frank walked first, as if he was the host. Sophia sighed sadly seeing that cold attitude.
âWhy is it so hard to break into your heart, Frank?â Sophia thought, before following with long steps.
Instead of finding a dining room, Frank arrived at a veranda. There were only one round table and two chairs there. Without paying attention to the candles or rose petals around him, Frank sat down. Sophia, who arrived later, smiled wryly when she saw that.
âCanât you pull out a chair for me?â Sophia stood at the side of the table, glancing at the empty chairs.
Frank raised an eyebrow. âI donât need to pull it. Itâs already in the right distance from the table. Besides, youâre not my wife.â
Sophiaâs eyebrows moved down. She had no choice but to sit down without Frankâs help. After that, two servants approached, lifting the food cover from the round plate beneath it.
âThis is the best premium steak in the world. I ordered it on purpose for you. You like protein, right?â Sophia started arranging the napkins
on her lap.
Pursing his lips, Frank nodded. âYes, but Iâm going vegetarian tonight. Is there anything else on the menu?â
Sophia blinked stiffly. âYes. Thereâs salad, if you want. But, is that enough? Donât muscular guys like you always pay attention to protein intake?â
âI ate a lot of meat last night. You know? Kara is very tender. I love every part of her body.â
Sophia unconsciously clenched her jaw. Taking a deep breath, she

maintained her patience.
âIs that so?â After managing to return a smile, Sophia sliced the steak gracefully.
âBut you have to remember. You wonât know better quality if you donât try.â She brought the piece of meat to Frankâs mouth.
With slow movements, Frank removed the fork from in front of his face. âI told you, Iâm vegetarian tonight. Why are you still insisting?â
Sophiaâs cheeks twitched faintly. Letting out a humiliated laugh, she put down the fork until it made a clink, a sign that her patience had evaporated.
âDo you realize, Frank? Youâve gone too far.â With a cold expression, Sophia raised her head. Her eyes were piercing.
However, Frank was not afraid. He tilted his head, maintaining his innocent face. âWhat do you mean?â
âIâve done a lot for you. Iâve helped you reconcile with Grandma, taken care of your mother, and invited you to this special dinner. But you donât appreciate me at all.â
Frank shrugged his shoulders lightly âWhat can I do? Iâm already married, and you donât respect the truth either. Why should I show respect?â
âWhat am I lacking compared to Kara?â Sophiaâs voice started to become forceful. âAppearance? Intelligence? Ability? I think Iâm far beyond her. Iâm even closer to your grandmother and mother. But why do you still hold on to her?â
Realizing Sophiaâs eyes were starting to turn red, Frank put a serious look on his face. He no longer needed to pretend to be stupid. The limits of Sophiaâs patience had been broken.
âYou lack honesty. Donât you know? hate people who pretend.â

âIâm not pretending. I really care about you,â Sophia nodded, firmly.
âHow about your relationship with my grandmother? Your concern for my mother? You still deny that they are fake? I know it clearly that you were the one who asked the media to publish my motherâs video.â
While Sophia gritted her teeth, Frank propped his elbows on the table. His two hands were linked under his chin.
âNow letâs be blunt. What is your goal actually? Why did you do all
that?â
Little by little, the red streaks in Sophiaâs eyes grew thicker, just like the annoyance that wrapped around her heart.
âI want justice. Is that wrong?â
Frank straightened his back. Furrowing an eyebrow, he whispered, What do you mean?â
âKara has taken a lot from me. She has taken Finnicâs heart, the spotlight at my wedding, and even the fame.â
Sophia smiled disdainfully. Her jaw shifted slightly to the left.
âWhen Finnic proposed to me, I thought I had succeeded in achieving my dream-the perfect life. My husband was a handsome, successf businessman, our careers would develop together, and people would praise us as the most beautiful couple.â
Silence hung for a moment. Sophia seemed trapped in the wheel of the past.
âBut then I realized. My dreams could still be higher. I shouldnât want Finnic. There are other men who deserve me much more.â
After one blink, Sophiaâs focus landed on Frank. âYou. From the start, I should have approached you. Karaâs current position should have been mine. We are the perfect couple that people have been waiting
