Chapter 302
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 45. The Risk
While Ava turned to face her, Melanie blinked dryly. âHavenât you apologized to me eleven times?â
Ava frowned on one side of her face, âI donât think thatâs enough.â
âI think,â Finnic interrupted, âI should apologize to you too, Mrs. Harris. Sophia was able to act like that because of me.â
Pressing her mouth with her chin, Melanie shook her head stiffly. She wasnât used to hearing such a sincere apology.
âItâs okay. I have forgiven everyone, except Sophia. Because even until the last second, she still didnât admit she was guilty.â
Frank secretly glanced at Jeremy. His eyebrows rose in resignation. Melanieâs arrogant nature seemed impossible to get rid of, even though she had tried hard to change it.
âSo,â Frank broke the awkwardness, we separate here?â
Finnic raised an eyebrow. The curve of his lips was slanted. âYes I have to go to the police station. After all, her status is still my
But there is one more thing I have to tell you, Frank.â
Frankâs eyebrows pressed together. âWhat is it?â
âBe careful with my parents-in-laws. They may seem friendly at ou wedding, but once they become hostile to someone.â Finnic cut himself off, taking a deep breath.
âYeah, I know. Thanks for reminding me.â Frank smiled. Deep inside,
he was nervous.
Frank actually had one more mission. However, he was not sure whether it could erase the Moore familyâs annoyance or make them

even more offended.
A moment later, Finnic had gone, but his words still burned into Frankâs mind. Melanie realized that.

âFrank, is everything okay?â
Frank blinked. âYes, of course. Iâm just calculating the risks. Who knows, there may be other ways to minimize the impact. I donât want
to be careless.â
While smiling, Frank looked around. âNow that our mission here is complete, letâs go home. Youâre okay, right? Should we stop by the hospital first?â He touched Melanieâs arm.
Melanie checked herself. âI think Iâm healthy.â
Ava nodded too. âYes, Mrs. Harris is fine. She is improving very quickly.â
Frank smiled in relief. âThank you for helping my mother recover.â
âAs I said, I was the one who gave Mrs. Harris the medicine. I have to take responsibility.â Ava grimaced at the end.
Frank nodded. Without wasting any more time, he led the way ou Sophiaâs house.
When they arrived at the front porch, the police car was no longer there. However, the situation was still chaotic. The servants were busy waking up Sophiaâs guards, while Harperâs guards were waiting by the side of their cars. The truck driver looked confused.
âSir, what actually happened? Why did those people faint as soon as they lifted the goods from my truck?â
Frank put his hand on the driverâs shoulder. His expression was calm. âThereâs nothing serious, Sir. We just put anesthetic spray in the truck. The dose was safe. Those people just fell asleep for a while. I just

didnât want them to interfere with my mission.â
The old man rubbed his forehead slowly. âSo, what do I need to do with my truck now?â
âAs per the initial agreement. Letâs take the items back to my house.â
âHow am I going to unload that stuff later? Does my truck need to be cleaned?â
Frank shook his head slowly. âNo. The anesthetic evaporates easily.
It would have been blown away by the wind.â
The driver took a deep breath. âThank goodness. Then, shall we leave now, Sir? My wife must be worried because I havenât come home yet.â
Frank nodded. Then, he ordered several bodyguards to help the driver close the truck door and move Sophiaâs people who were blocking the
road.
âWhy did you hire that frail looking old man, Frank?â Melanie
muttered, watching the driverâs movements with knitted eyebrows.
Frank smiled. âBecause he looks the most honest and innocent.
Nowadays, we have to avoid cunning people.â
While Melanie was pensive, Frank grabbed her arm. âLetâs get in car. Iâll take you to Jeremyâs house.â
Melanie spontaneously held back. âWhy donât you just set up a rehabilitation room at your house?â
Frank blinked dryly. âTo avoid Sophiaâs suspicion. She keeps monitoring our house, but not Jeremyâs house.â
âBut Vivian is there,â Melanie whispered as she glanced at Jeremy.
Frankâs mouth suddenly rounded. He now understood why his mother objected.

âAbout that, you donât need to worry, Mom. Mrs. Bell doesnât mind taking you in.â
âIâm the one who objects.â Melanie sighed in annoyance.
Afraid that his motherâs depression would recur, Frank quickly faked a laugh, hoping the tension would dissipate.
âI forgot to tell you. She is out of town on business. Sheâs not at home.â He made eyes at Jeremy.
âIs it true?â Melanie glanced suspiciously.
âYes, Mom. You can see for yourself if you donât believe it. Now get in the car.â
Melanie looked confused. However, her feet obeyed. As soon as Frank closed the car door for her, Jeremyâs snort caught his ear.
âYour lies are really bad. How could my mother be out of town at the end of the year?â
Frank shrugged. âLuckily my mother forgot the date,â he muttered. Can you call your mother and ask her to hide in her room? She doesnât need to come out to greet us.â
âThatâs easy. But I donât think you need to escort your mother, Fran Sheâs safe with me. You just go home. Kara and the twins must b waiting.â
âBut,â Frank quirked an eyebrow, âwhat if my mother suddenly goes berserk?â
âMrs. Harris no longer has tantrums, Sir. Her condition is much more stable,â Ava nodded reassuringly.
Seeing Frankâs brows were still furrowed, Jeremy patted his shoulder. âRelax. Ava is with us. She knows what to do if your mother gets worse. You just go home.â
Avaâs head went up and down again. However, this time, her movements were hesitant. âBut before that, may I see my mother first, Sir? I want to make sure she is okay.â
Jeremyâs eyes widened. He had just used the nurse as an excuse to send Frank home. However, why did the girl oppose his statement?
âYour mother is on her way. You still have time to come to my house and look after Mrs. Harris. After she falls asleep, I can take you to the hospital.â
Avaâs withered eyes flickered. âYou donât mind taking me to the hospital?â
As Jeremy nodded, Frank was secretly moved. He knew his older brother was worried about him.
âThank you, Jer. Sorry I always bother you.â
Jeremy shrugged. âIt doesnât matter.â
Smiling, Frank patted his shoulder. âWell then, be nice to Ava. I need her to take care of my mother.â
Jeremy almost snorted. He understood another meaning hidden behind those words. After pulling Frank close, he grumbled, âShe my type either.â
Frank smiled faintly. âYou donât know her yet. Donât jump to
conclusions.â
After saying goodbye, Frank got into his car. In an instant,
awkwardness froze Jeremy and Ava. From the start, the two people did not get along. It was Jeremy who arrested Ava when her evil deeds were first revealed.
âIâll get into the car first, Sir.â Ava nodded then circled the car.
One of Jeremyâs eyebrows rose slightly. âIf you want to come in, just

come in. Why tell me?â he grumbled before taking the front passenger
seat.
Unknown to them, from the second floor of Sophiaâs house, a man was trying to contact someone. However, after several attempts, he finally gave up.
âAre they still on the plane?â he muttered as he opened the aviation website. âWhen they arrive, they will definitely be furious.â
