Chapter 305
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 48. Warm Hug
Frank glanced at Kara briefly. His wife raised an eyebrow and gave a small nod, giving support.
âWhat do you want to do, Grandma?â
âI want to apologize.â Diana cupped the face that reminded her of Rowan. âIâm sorry about this selfish grandmother of yours, Frank. I shouldnât have taken out my anger on you, dragging you into your grandfatherâs troubles. You were not at fault. I should have welcomed you warmly at the farm.â
Swallowing bitterness, Diana turned to Kara. âAnd you too. I should have welcomed you all warmly, invited you to tour the farm and eat together. Sorry if I have disappointed and saddened you with my
treatment.â
Kara smiled slightly. Dianaâs sadness was contagious through her
eyes.
âItâs okay, Grandma. I didnât take it to heart.â Kara stroked her arm.
However, the old woman caught her hand. Her head shook slight made you walk to the orphanage and shovel the snow there. I igno your tiredness and coldness. I asked you to prepare dinner when y had a fever. I didnât even allow you to sit at the dining table. Sorry you had to eat in the living room and back porch.â
âItâs okay, Grandma. Itâs okay. Itâs all over. Iâm happy that Grandma accepted me. Thereâs nothing to regret now.â
Diana sighed faintly then turned to Frank. The layers of her tears glistened reflecting the emotions.
âYou have a very good wife. Youâre lucky to have her, Frank. You made

the right choice.
Not expecting to receive such praise, Frank let out a laugh. His heart felt light, his chest felt spacious.
âGrandma,â Frank hugged Diana and rubbed her back, âthank you for making this moment possible. Iâm relieved that you want to make peace with us. Thank you for forgetting your past sadness for us.â
Diana shook her head. She closed her eyes a little longer before meeting Frankâs gaze again. âDonât thank me. You will only embarrass me. You are my grandson. I should love you.â
After one blink, Diana turned to Kara. âAnd we are family. We should get along and live in peace.â
While smiling, Kara hugged Diana tightly. âThank you, Grandma.â
âI told you, donât thank me. You reminded me of how cruel I can be.â
Kara chuckled lightly. Nodding, she returned the distance. âOkay. I wonât thank you anymore.â
âGood. And now is my chance to congratulate my new great- grandson.â
Diana stroked Karaâs stomach, giving it a loving look. After a mo she glanced at Kara. âCongratulations on your pregnancy, My Granddaughter.â
Karaâs smile softened. âFor this one, may I thank you?â
Diana finally let out a laugh. âYes, you may.â
âThank you, Grandma.â
âYouâre welcome, My Sweetheart.â
Once again, Kara and Diana hugged. Their closeness made everyoneâs eyes fill with tears.

âOh, this is very moving.â Emily cupped her chubby cheeks and tilted
her head.
âYeah, itâs very moving.â Louis wiped his eyes as if there were tears then sniffed as if he had snot in his nose. Frank laughed at his
gesture.
âBuddy, why donât you and Emily take Grandma in? She must be very tired and sleepy.â Frank ruffled his sonâs hair.
Louis chuckled briefly. âThatâs right. Grandma should be asleep by now. Come on, Grandma. Letâs go in.â He took Dianaâs hand.
Emily also took Dianaâs hand. âBut before that, Grandma has to get to know Grandma Susan. Sheâs Mommyâs mother. Sheâs knitting inside. We asked her to make a beautiful scarf for Grandma Diana.â She smiled sweetly.
Dianaâs eyebrows arched by sincerity. âYou guys are very kind. I feel bad for Susan. Sheâs in trouble because of me.â
Emily shook her head while humming softly. âNo, no. I think Grandma Susan would be happy. Letâs go in, Grandma.â
Louis glanced behind him. âAbigail, come on in. We can take yo your room after we drop off Grandma.â
Abigail laughed softly. âNo need. I can share room with Grandma.â
âThere are many guest rooms in our house. You and Grandma can have a private room.â
Emily reached out, trying to take Abigailâs hand. âCome on, Abi!â
After smiling at Frank and Kara, Abigail took Emilyâs hand. âOkay. Thank you for considering me a special guest.â
âYou are special, Abi.â

While the twins led the two guests in, the others followed at a leisurely pace. They smiled at the sight in front of them.
âThis is truly an unexpected surprise,â Frank muttered as he put his arm around Karaâs waist.
âYes, Grandma must have felt so guilty that Abigail asked her to fly right then and there,â Barbara said as she took Philipâs arm that was not carrying the bag.
âSo,â Kara gave a meaningful glance, âwe throw a party tomorrow?â
âThe twins can start the party right away if we donât catch up soon,â Frank joked with a wide smile. âCome on in. Donât let Louis give the servant any orders first. The party must be saved for tomorrow.â
Smiling amusedly, they followed in. However, when they arrived in the living room, they were amazed. Susan was standing with her mouth slightly open. Her shaking eyes looked at Diana as if she couldnât believe it.
âYou?â Susan didnât realize that her index finger had pointed at Diana.
The older woman blinked in surprise âDo I know you?â
Unexpectedly, Susan let out a laugh while patting her chest. âDo you remember the husband and wife who gave you a ride when you were looking for a graveyard a long time ago?â
Diana looked up slightly then narrowed her eyes. After a short silence, she gasped. âYouâre that young woman? You and your husband were the ones I stopped in the middle of the road?â
Susan nodded. Her eyes were very bright. âI really didnât expect that you were my daughter-in-lawâs grandmother. No wonder I felt familiar when I saw your picture. It turns out itâs you!â
Diana let out a laugh. While holding Susanâs hand, she shook her
head faintly.
âThis is really hard to believe. I never thought I would meet you again. You know? If it werenât for you and your husband, I would have been. lost. But you guys were so kind, waiting for me at the graveyard, even taking me back to the airport.â
Hearing that, Frank raised his hand. âWait a minute. You two know each other?â
âNot really. Weâve only met once.â Diana turned her head with a happy face. âThat was the first time I came back here, to visit your fatherâs grave. Since I wasnât very familiar with the road, I got lost. Your
mother-in-law then took me.â
With a smile full of emotion, Diana looked back at Susan.
âIt happened so fast. We didnât even have time to exchange names. But that moment was so imprinted in my memory. Who would have thought that my grandson would be in love with your daughter? The little girl at that time was Kara, right?â
Susan nodded. âYes, but she was very young, a little older than Emily. She definitely doesnât remember.â
Karaâs lips pursed. âMom and Dad often give people rides. How do remember?â she muttered.
Remembering Karaâs small face, Dianaâs heart suddenly ached. She once prayed that the little girl would be happy. Who would have thought that she would actually torture her when she was an adult?
