Chapter 306
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 49. Ready for Party
âOh, I really went too far. You know when they came to my farm? I wasnât friendly at all. My attitude towards Kara was very rude.â Diana looked at Susan regretfully.
Susan shook her head gently. âLouis and Emily have already
explained it. I donât think itâs a problem. Besides, Kara is fine, right?â
âStill, I was unreasonable towards your daughter. Iâm sorry.â
Susan patted the back of Dianaâs hand. âItâs okay, Maâam. Itâs okay.â
While Susan calmed Diana, Emily looked up and widened her eyes. â So, Mommy and Grandma Diana have met before?â
Kara nodded while stroking her chubby cheek. âYeah. Itâs just that Mommy and Grandma Diana donât know each other.â
âWoohoo! This is so great. Shouldnât we celebrate it? How about we ask Nora to make juice or warm up some milk? We can high-five and
chat for a while.â
Frank glanced at Kara with a faint smile. âI told you.â
Chuckling, Kara put her hand on Louisâ shoulder. âItâs already late a night, Little Bee. Letâs save the party for tomorrow. Now, let Grandma Diana and Abigail rest.â
âMommy also needs to rest. Little Baby must be tired too. It shook a lot on the plane earlier.â Emily nodded as if Kara needed reassurance. Her hand stroked her motherâs stomach.
âYou too, Little Angels. After taking Grandma Diana to her room, you should go straight to sleep. Donât play anymore, okay?â
Louis looked up at the suggestion. âBut we slept a lot on the plane,
1/5
Mommy.â
âYou want to wait for the New Year, right?â Frank threw the bait.
âYes, Daddy!â The twins answered in unison.
âI want to blow the New Yearâs trumpet.â Louis put his fist in front of his mouth, demonstrating. Meanwhile, Emily put her hands together in front of her chest.
âAs for me, I want to say the best wishes for the New Year. Then I count down, and play with fireworks!â Emily spread her arms while making a small jump.
Frank smiled at their excitement. âThen you guys should sleep early today.â
Just as the twins nodded, Nora entered the living room. âPhilip, the room you asked for is ready.â
Philip gave thumbs up. âThank you, Nora.â
Then, he raised his eyebrows at the twins. âDo you want to take Grandma or go straight to bed?â
The twins hurriedly took Dianaâs hand. âNora, where is Grandmaâs room?â
After Nora answered, they started walking. âCome on, Grandma. Le
us take you.â
Giggling, Diana let the two toddlers lead her. âSusan, I have to go to my room.â
Susan nodded. Taking her knitting, she said, âI also want to go to my room. I need to concentrate so I can finish this faster.â
Barbara, Philip, and Abigail then followed the twins. Meanwhile, Frank and Kara faced each other. The curve of their lips held the same meaning.

âIt turns out, we were matched together? The proof is you met my grandmother long before me.â
Kara narrowed her eyes. âArenât we soul mates even though I didnât meet your grandmother before?â
While snorting in laughter, Frank grabbed Karaâs waist. âYeah, Iâm just too impressed by that fact.â a
Gently, he gave Kara a kiss. âIâm glad I married you.â
âIâm also happy to have married you.â Kara stood on tiptoe, giving back the warmth even though it was brief. âAnd Iâm glad your whole family now accepts me.
Frank nodded. âIâm sorry you had to wait this long to feel the warmth of the Harper family.â
âIâve felt it since the beginning of our marriage, Frank. From you. Support from the others is a bonus.â
Frank chuckled. âYouâre too kind, Kara. Now,â he put his arm around her waist, âletâs follow them. Donât let the twins ask Grandma for a pillow fight.â
Kara laughed more lightly. âDonât think about any more strange
things, Frank. What you say about the twins is usually true.â
âIâm just putting myself in their shoes. Thatâs what toddlers think, no matter how genius they are.â
While Frank and Kara were chatting intimately towards Dianaâs room, elsewhere, Jeremy stood stiffly at the door of Melanieâs room. His expression was flat, his arms folded. His eyes kept focusing on the girl who had just pulled the blanket over Melanie.
âMrs. Harris is asleep?â he asked when Ava came out of the room. His face was still frozen, even though there was a small change in his

eyebrows.
Ava closed the door slowly. âYes, Mrs. Harris just fell asleep.â
âHow is she?â Jeremy probed again.
âGood.â Ava nodded then blinked awkwardly. Silence hung for a
moment.
âIs it true that you are willing to take me to the hospital? If you mind, I can order a taxi.â
Before Jeremy could open his mouth, another voice answered, âOf course itâs true. Itâs already late. Itâs not good for a girl to travel alone.â
Jeremy and Ava spontaneously turned to the side. Vivian was already standing not far from them.
âMom? Why are you leaving your room? If Mrs. Harris finds out, it could be serious.â Jeremy approached Vivian, about to take her away from the door. However, her feet seemed to have become petrified.
âYou forbid Ava from leaving Melanie before sheâs asleep, right?â Vivian raised her eyebrows, smiling meaningfully.
While Jeremy exhaled a long breath, Vivian glanced at Ava. âSheâs here now. That means Melanie is asleep. She wonât know Iâm outsi
her room.â
âOkay, youâre right. But itâs better if we donât talk here.â
Jeremy turned Vivianâs shoulder over. Like it or not, Vivian followed his guidance. Ava accompanied with relaxed steps behind.
âAre you embarrassed I interrupted your conversation?â Vivian whispered while glancing at Jeremy with a mysterious smile.
âNo.â
Vivian elbowed her son. âAdmit it. I have never seen you close to any
â 4/5
girl. She was the first one you brought home.â
Jeremy shook his head with a snort. âSheâs Mrs. Harrisâ nurse. Isnât it natural that sheâs here? Besides, the idea came from Frank, not me.â
âBut youâre happy, right? When else can you be close to a beautiful girl like this?â
âSheâs not beautiful, Mom, and sheâs not my taste.â Jeremy started to sound like he was grumbling.
Vivianâs eyes narrowed in suspicion. âReally? But I can see youâre a bit awkward every time you face her.â
âThatâs because I was the one who arrested her when the crime
against Mrs. Harris was discovered. We were like a policeman and a criminal who were forced to be friends.â
Vivian almost burst out laughing. âHow dare you compare her to a criminal? She is so kind and caring.â
âIf she was kind, she wouldnât have gone along with Sophiaâs scheme.â
âThat means you havenât paid close attention to her, Son. I had been watching her from CCTV since she arrived. She took care of Melanio very gently and thoroughly.â
Jeremy snorted lightly. âThatâs because of her job. Look at her no Sheâs so stiff and cold. Sheâs also a bit selfish and inconsiderate.â
âI heard that she did Sophiaâs orders for her mother. I think she isnât selfish, Jeremy. Itâs a sacrifice. Not everyone dares to do something that reckless for their mother.â
Suddenly, Vivian escaped from her sonâs grasp. She turned around. Ava spontaneously stopped her steps.
