Chapter 308
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 51. Problematic Partner
âWhy are you so strange? Earlier you showed compulsion, but now you are forcing me to come with you. Are you afraid that your brother
will be angry if he finds out that you have abandoned me in the
middle of the road?â
This time, Jeremy didnât let Ava off the hook. He caught her other wrist, then stared at her intensely.
âYes. I donât want to argue with my brother because of your problematic behavior. Now letâs get in the car.â
Ava snorted in amusement. âIf you argue with your brother, itâs your fault. Itâs your personality thatâs causing the problem, not mine.â
Jeremy snorted tiredly. Without further ado, he lifted Ava onto his shoulders. The girl could not help but gasp.
âHey! Put me down! I donât want to share the car with you! Iâd rather wait for a taxi than have to deal with your arrogance and accusations.
Ava pushed Jeremyâs back, trying to separate her body from the man. However, Jeremyâs arm was too strong. He brought her to the car door. When she was about to run away, he had already trapped her with both arms. Ava was now sandwiched between the car and the manâs cold gaze.
âListen to me carefully and donât look around.â
âWhat if I donât want to?â
Just before Ava turned her head, Jeremy grabbed her chin.
âI said donât look around,â he said firmly with a firm look in his eyes. Ava finally saw the seriousness there.

âOkay,â she sighed, calming her breathing. Her eyes moved around checking every corner she could reach. âWhat is going on?â
âA car has been following us since earlier.â
Ava checked her memory. âThat black car?â
Jeremy nodded. âYes.â
âI was suspicious before, but I thought the car engine had a problem.â
Jeremy shook his head faintly. âAnd now, there are two other cars on that side of the road.â He moved his head in the opposite direction.
You still want to wait for a taxi?â
Ava swallowed hard. Tension was now running through her blood.â Who are they?â
âMaybe Sophiaâs people or her fatherâs. I donât know either. So, right now, get in the car. Iâm not Sean or Philip or Frank. I canât beat them all.â
Avaâs breath hitched. Her hands subconsciously gripped Jeremyâs shirt tightly. âAre they targeting me? Iâm the one who ruined Sophiaâs plans. Do they want to get rid of me?â
Jeremy felt sorry seeing that pale face. However, instead of quelling her anxiety, he opened the car door and pushed her in.
Ava could only obey. Her face was pale and her brain was paralyzed. Her hands were getting cold at the thought of not being able to touch her mother anymore.
âMr. Harper, please help me. I donât want to die yet. I still have to take. care of my mother,â Ava whispered as Jeremy took the seat behind the wheel.
The man glanced at her with one eyebrow furrowed. âYouâre suddenly polite because you could only rely on me?â

âNow is not the time to argue, Sir.â Ava shook Jeremyâs arm. Please ⦠donât let them take me. I want to see my mother.â
Jeremy knitted his eyebrows tighter. âDo you still want to see your mother in this situation?â
Ava flinched. Her hands let go of Jeremy, her body straightened.
âThatâs right. If we go to the hospital now, they will know my motherâs position. She can be in harm.â
After a breath, Ava softened her voice. âThen what should we do now? Are you going to call some bodyguards to come?â
âAnd let the security at home weaken?â Jeremy pressed his forehead with his eyebrows. âNo. Thatâs too risky.â
âYour brotherâs bodyguard?â
Jeremy shook his head. âThey also need full security team.â
âShould we call the police?â
âAnd cause a stir? Have you forgotten that Sophiaâs arrest was kept secret?â
Ava grimaced. âThen what should we do? If we go home now, we might get ambushed on that quiet street. Why did you build a house in such a remote place?â
Jeremy frowned. âThat used to be my grandfatherâs house. He didnât like crowds. Because of that, he deliberately built a villa and cleared the land around it. It wasnât my faultâ
Ava leaned back with a look of resignation. Her eyes closed for a moment, trying to clear her mind.
âShall we go to your brotherâs house?â She suddenly straightened her back.

âWhatâs the difference between the road to his house and the road to my house?â
Ava blinked anxiously. Before she could find a solution, Jeremy
started the car.
âWhere are we going?â Ava sighed.
Jeremy checked the rearview. The car had followed.
âThis road is starting to get quiet. Weâll have to look for another place.
âWhere? You couldnât have gone to the hospital, right? It would be a waste of my mother to be transferred secretly if it was now revealed.â
Jeremy didnât answer. He kept focusing on the road.
âMr. Harper?â
Ava was still waiting for a response. When her patience ran out, her tone rose drastically. âJeremy?â
âNo need to shout. Save your energy Just follow my directions,â Jeremy said casually.
âWhat directions? You didnât give me any directions at all.â Ava shook her head in annoyance.
However, Jeremy became silent again. A moment later, he suddenly turned into a bar. Ava stared wide-eyed at the rather dark place.
âWhat is your plan?â she sighed softly.
Jeremy parked the car and unfastened his seat belt. âFollow my steps. Donât go too far.â
âBut-â
Before Ava had time to ask, Jeremy was out. She couldnât help but

follow.
âJeremy, what is your plan?â Ava asked while grabbing his clothes. She wasnât sure if that could be called whispering. She had to beat the music that echoed without being heard by people.
Suddenly, Jeremy stopped. Ava almost hit her head on his shoulder.â Blend in like the others. Donât be so stiff or youâll attract attention.â
Ava snorted quickly. âDidnât you see my clothes? How could I not
stand out in this uniform?â
âLetâs just say you went straight to the bar without having time to change clothes after work.â
âYou know thatâs against the rules, right?â
Jeremy shrugged. âWho told you not to change clothes?â
âI didnât bring any clothes. How can I change?â
Jeremy let out a faint sigh. âDonât ask me to argue. Now speed up your steps. Theyâre already here.â
Jeremy grabbed Avaâs hand and pulled her. Ava had no choice but follow his lead.
After slipping through the crowd, they arrived before a hall. Jerem knocked twice and twice. Within seconds, the door opened. A wide eyed young man greeted them.
âJeremy Harper?â The man shook his head with a half-laugh smile. â This is a big surprise! I didnât expect you to find me here. Whatâs wrong? Frank couldnât have sent you to throw me out of town, right?â
Jeremy looked back briefly. âSave your pleasantries for later, Ben. Wilson. May we come in?â
Ben glanced behind Jeremyâs back. Seeing Ava, he smiled faintly. âOf course.â
