Chapter 314
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 57. Get Rid of Frank
âGood morning, Sir, Madam. How can we help you?â A police officer greeted at the front desk.
The man in the bowler hat straightened his head. Seeing his face, the officer widened his eyes. âMister Victor Moore!â
The officers nearby turned around. Their expressions were the same, wide-eyed and agape. In the blink of an eye, the officer with the
highest rank approached Victor.
âGood morning, Mr. Moore. I apologize deeply for what happened to your daughter. We canât do much because the evidence is strong, and the person who prosecuted her was Frank Harper.â
There was no change in Victor. His expression was frozen, his gaze sharp. âWhere is my daughter?â
âIn a special room. You and your wife donât need to worry. We handle your daughter very well.â
âI want to talk to Sophia. We need privacy.â
The officer gasped. He glanced at the clock then muttered, âActu itâs not visiting hour.â
However, noticing the intense gazes, he quickly nodded. âAll right, Sin Let me take you to your daughterâs room.â
Without further ado, the three people walked down the hall. Arriving in front of a door, the officer opened the lock and invited Victor and Patricia to enter.
âIs ten minutes enough, Sir?â
Victorâs eyes sharpened again. The officer spontaneously looked
down.
âOkay. Call me when youâre finished talking. Our team will wait for you there.â He pointed to the end of the hall.
Without another word, Victor pushed open the door. He came in with his wife. The officer shuddered in horror before walking away from the special detention room.
Noticing her parentsâ presence, Sophiaâs eyes widened. Her body immediately lifted from the small mattress she was sitting on.
âMom? Dad?â
After one breath, Sophiaâs smile bloomed. With teary eyes, she approached her mother. âMom, Iâm so happy to see you here.â
However, just before Sophia hugged Patricia, a slap landed. Her cheeks heated, her brain stopped for a moment.
âAre you dumb? Youâve embarrassed yourself and ruined our familyâs reputation. What was really on your mind?â
Sophia blinked, collecting her senses. Her jaw shifted slightly, compensating for the stinging feeling on her face.
âSorry, Mom. I ⦠miscalculated. I didnât expect them to respon this.â Sophia looked down, not daring to look directly at her pa
While Patricia snorted and looked away, Victor put his hands beh his waist. His feet slowly moved, walking around the room.
âDidnât I tell you? If you want to break the rules, you canât let your guard down even for a split second.â
Victorâs tone was low, cold, but firm. Sophia bowed her head deeper. Her lips were pressed tightly together.
âI also said that all risks must be considered, both⦠the most likely and the impossible. You must close the gap, no matter how small it

is.â
Victor stopped by Sophiaâs side. The glance in his eyes made the hairs on Sophiaâs neck bristle.
âThen what did you do? You ignored your fatherâs advice?â
Sophia took a deep breath. âI thought they wouldnât find out about my plan. But apparently, I underestimated Frank Harper,â she muttered.
Victor snorted with laughter. His voice was so thin. It was almost
undetectable.
âDo you remember? Your mother and I once warned you that Finnic wasnât worthy of you. But you persisted. If only you had listened from the start, you wouldnât be enemies with Frank Harper. Instead, you might have ended up together.â
âForgive my stupidity, Dad. I didnât realize it from the start. But at that time, I hadnât met Frank. If only I had known him earlier, the story would have been different.â
âYou wanted him?â Victor raised an eyebrow, waiting for an answer from the corner of his eye.
Holding her breath, Sophia nodded. âI felt that heâs the one who deserved me.â
âAnd now?â
Sophia was silent for a moment, clenched her fists before lowering her gaze again. âI am not sure.â
Once again, Victor snorted. âThat kid is arrogant. He put on a show at your wedding. Why do you even want him?â
âBecause heâs great, Dad. Heâs much more competent than Finnic, and reliable. His business line probably surpasses our familyâs
assets. The future with him is more than promising.â

âYou donât realize that he has insulted you?â Victor turned his head fully. His eyebrows were now raised, deepening the hollows of his
eyes.
âHe stole the attention of all the invited guests at your wedding. That night, he and that girl were the ones in the spotlight, not you and Finnic. Donât you realize that?â Victor added emphasis to his voice.
Sophia gritted her teeth, not daring to answer.
âSince when did you lower your pride, Sophia? If I were in your position, I would be very offended. But since it was your event and you didnât react, I also kept quiet.â
Despite her doubts, Sophia finally opened her mouth. âI thought that if I caused a scene, I would be more embarrassed and troubled.â
âYes, at that time. Rowan Harper was still alive. But now,â Victor turned his body to face his daughter âhe is dead.â
Victor smiled faintly. âWe have nothing left to fear. That brat is no match for our family. Moreover, he is alone. He has no one behip is
back.â
âDo you want to give him a lesson?â Sophia sounded doubtful.
âDo you know whatâs going on out there?â Victor moved his head towards the door. âPeople dare to insult our family. Our business opponents are taking advantage of this moment to attack. Our credibility is falling, as are the shares in the subsidiary companies you hold. Other shares are following suit. We lost several projects in
an instant.â
With slow movements, Victor got closer to his daughter. Sophia had no chance of escaping his scary eyes.
âHe must pay for our losses.â
Sophia swallowed hard. She couldnât possibly defend Frank because that would be the same as admitting her mistake, giving herself up to be devoured by the anger of her extended family.
âWhatâs your plan, Dad? Are you going to get rid of him?â Sophiaâs voice sounded dry.
The corner of Victorâs lips turned up. âThatâs none of your business. Even though youâre my own daughter, I can no longer trust you.â
Sophia gasped. Her expression was clouded with confusion. âWhat
do you mean, Dad?â
âHe kept your arrest a secret. That means he couldnât possibly bring you to justice. He was just bluffing.â
Sophiaâs eyes shook faster. âSo what?â
âAs soon as he let you free, go to Europe. Just take care of our business there. Get out of here until all the news about your stupidity
subsides.â
Sophia gaped. Her head shook in disagreement. âCanât I stay here?â
âNo,â Victor interrupted in a low, but firm tone. âThe mess y is too complicated to manipulate. Youâd better get out of h the media that youâre being removed from office. Theyâll have believe that the Moore family has given you the punishment y deserve.â
