Chapter 393
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
S31 136. Looking for Trouble
âMom, you donât need to please those toddlers. Think about your health. You donât have to hear their noise.â Eva nodded her head,
emphasizing.
Mrs. Connor furrowed her eyebrows. âNo, I actually like their funny actions. I want to watch them.â
While Eva was pensive, Mrs. Connor patted the back of her hand. âIâm fine, Darling. You donât need to worry. Now tell them to come in.ââ
Eva didnât move. She didnât accept that the twins won her motherâs
heart.
Suddenly, the whistle and drum sounded again. After a few moments, two toddlers appeared. Mrs. Connor chuckled at their serious face,
At the end of the âperformanceâ, the twins bowed. Mrs. Connor clapped her hands even though her movements were not v
ile.
âThank you for cheering me up, Sweet Kids. I didnât expect you come with a surprise.â
âWe promised to entertain you again, Mrs. Connor. Of course we to keep our promise.â Louis nodded firmly. His face beamed.
Meanwhile, Emily smiled sweetly. She approached the bed, asking How are you, Mrs. Connor? Can you walk yet?â
The woman shook her head. âI just started practicing yesterday. Today, Iâll try again. Do you want to accompany me to therapy later?â
Evaâs eyes widened. Her mouth was slightly open. It was hard to believe that her mother could be that friendly to the twins.
âI want to!â Emily gave a small jump.
1/5
âI also want to.â Louis stood next to Emily. âWe will both cheer you on from the chairs. Mommy said that we shouldnât get close while you are getting therapy. So, we can only watch you from afar.â
Mrs. Connor smiled slightly. âNo problem. Your presence alone is enough to give me encouragement.
Eva was not happy that her mother said that sentence to someone else. Only she could receive it. However, when she was about to protest, Bryan came in and took a wheelchair.
âLouis, Emily, have you had breakfast? Your uncle is waiting in the dining room.â
The twins widened their eyes. âReally? Thereâs no message from Uncle here.â Louis showed his watch.
Emily nodded with the same gesture. âYeah, nothing.â
âThatâs because your uncle left a message here.â Bryan patted the phone in his pocket. The twinsâ mouths rounded.
âIs Mrs. Connor coming to breakfast with us?â Emily turn
head.
Mrs. Connor immediately smiled. âYes. Of course. When ey have breakfast together?â
ve
âMom, how about this morning, we just have breakfast here something to discuss with you. I can feed you.â
Mrs. Connor looked at Eva in surprise. âNow we have special gue It would be rude if we refused to eat with them. We can talk abo that later, Darling.â
Seeing Evaâs sullen face, the Twins secretly smiled. They had just launched their first attack, but Eva was already burning.
âI think sheâll be knocked out in the second attack,â Louis whispered to her younger sister.
Emily glanced over with a meaningful smile. âYeah, but Mommy said you canât use that word, Louis.â
As soon as she entered the dining room, Evaâs eyes widened. Her most hated fruit had been shaped like a hedgehog on a plate.
âLouis, Emily, come here! Sit next to me. Thereâs your favorite fruit here.â Melanie waved to her grandchildren.
âYeah!â
After removing the drum and whistle, the two toddlers climbed onto the chairs. Seeing the watermelon which had been given eyes, snout, and lots of toothpicks as the sharp spines, they got amazed.
âWow, this is a work of art!â Louis leaned forward, examining the shape of the watermelon carefully.
Emily covered her mouth while chuckling. âIt looks so cute. I canât
bear to eat it.â
Meanwhile, Eva was stunned with a pale face. Her sensitive caught the scent of watermelon which made her head spin. H stomach churned.
âMom, why is there watermelon here?â she whispered, grimacin
âMaybe Louis and Emily like it. That fruit is to welcome them.â
âBut I donât like it.â Eva stamped her feet, like a child throwing a tantrum. Emily noticed that.
âWhatâs wrong, Eva? Is something bothering you?â
All eyes were on Eva.
âI donât like watermelon. The smell makes me dizzy.â
had
âThe smell?â Louis put his nose closer to the watermelon, sniffing like a cat. âI donât smell anything strong. The watermelon smells nice.â
âItâs just your suggestion, Eva. I once read an article. Your dislike for something comes from your mind. You have to learn to get used to it, âMelanie said lightly.
Vivian nodded in support. âHow about you use this morning as your first practice? You donât need to focus on watermelon. Just look at other foods.â
Eva sighed in resignation. âButââ
âDarling, itâs just watermelon. You shouldnât make it a big deal.â Mrs. Connor grabbed Evaâs fingers.
âMom? You know how much I hate watermelon.â Eva stared in
disbelief.
âSince Eva doesnât like watermelon, do we have to remove it from the dining table? But Louis and I like watermelon.â Emilyâs voice was
hoarse as if her tears were about to spill.
Louis quickly rubbed her cheek. âNo, Emily. Donât cry. Eva is a She will definitely give in to us. Weâre still little.â
âBut I canât get close to the watermelon. Canât you guys undel my position?â Evaâs voice rose.
âSo, you want us to get rid of the watermelon so you stop whini
Eva was stunned by Jeremyâs sharp gaze. She remembered that on of the rules she agreed to was not to comment on the food. She
wasnât ready to be thrown out yet.
âNo,â she said helplessly.
âGood. Now, letâs start eating.â
With reddened eyes, Eva glanced at her sister. âThis must have been
her idea. Watch your back, Ava. Iâll get back to you later.â

After breakfast, Eva sat slumped on the sofa in the living room. She was still drunk on watermelon. No matter how much she had inhaled her favorite aromatherapy, she was still nauseous.
âIt was the worst breakfast in the world.â
Eva massaged her temples while sighing tiredly. Her other hand was holding her stomach, hoping that the food would stop churning.
Unfortunately, just as her dizziness began to subside, the sound of singing came from a nearby porch.
âDo re mi fa so la ti do â¦.
âGood, Louis. Now try going from high to low notes, but more stable.â
Eva frowned at that. âWhat else are those little brats doing?â
âDo ti la so fa mi re do.â
Eva sighed angrily. Grimacing, she went out onto the porch. âWhy you guys so noisy? Donât you understand that Iâm nauseous? I nee calm down, okay?â
Emily moved closer to Louis. âSorry, Eva. Louis is practicing his vocals.â
âPracticing vocals?â Evaâs eyes widened. Her lips escaped a sigh of laughter. âAre you a singer? Come on, stop being ridiculous. If you still want to continue, do it somewhere else.â
Louisâ lips pursed. âSorry, Eva, but we canât. We always play here every time we come here. Uncle Jeremy said this porch is already ours.â
Eva rolled her eyes. The dizziness could get worse if you kept dealing
with the twins.
