Chapter 49
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
âYou must feel that we are one family,â Louis said, snapping his fingers even though it didnât make a sound.
Emily smiled shyly. Putting her hands together on her lap, she
nodded. âYou feel that way too?â
âYep! Thanks to Mr. Wilson, I know what itâs like to have a Daddy. Itâs very fun! Should we ask Mr. Wilson to be our Daddy?â
Kara was stunned. A heavy weight hit her chest. All this time, she thought the twins were fine. Turned out, they secretly yearned for a father, and they liked Mr. Wilson? Karaâs eyes started to fill with tears.
âIâm sure he wonât refuse.â Emilyâs enthusiasm burned. âHe looks like he loves us and Mommy. Did you notice the way he looked at Mommy? He was like a prince who fell in love with a princess.â
âYou read too many fairy tales, Emily,â Louis commented, shaking his head slowly. âBut, I agree with you. Mister Wilson seems to like Mommy. I hope they start dating soon.â
Kara flinched. She didnât know her childrenâs conversation c that far. âFour-year-old toddlers understand the word dating? did they learn it?â
âBut before that, we have to make Mommy fall in love with him. Mommy wonât want to date if sheâs not interested in him,â Emily continued, adding to Karaâs surprise.
âThen, how about next Monday, we go to the relationship.
management section again?â Louis suggested, indirectly answering his motherâs surprise.
âBut the books were placed at the top of the shelves. We canât take

âThatâs easy,â Louis said, folding his arms. âI can ask other visitors or library staff for help. Iâll lie to them if Grandma asks.â
Kara sighed in disbelief. Not wanting to interrupt her childrenâs overly critical discussion, she walked to her own room.
âThe twins are secretly hoping for a father? They have such high hopes for Ben Wilson. Is that a sign that he is a good man?â
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Kara looked at her phone. As Benâs message waited to reply, Jeremyâs warnings clashed with Louis and Emilyâs wishes.
âIâm not interested in a relationship. But, what if Mr. Wilson was sent by God for the twins? They really need a father figure.â
After deep contemplation, Kara finally took a deep breath. She opened the message from Ben and replied, âOkay.â
thereâs no harm in
âWhether Mr. Wilson is the right man or notâ¦, thereâs r getting to know him better.â
Meanwhile, outside the apartment, Jeremy was still awake. He occasionally checked the second floor window, where Kara h spying on his car. The light was still on.
âWhat should I report to Frank Harper?â he muttered with a fla He didnât like indecisiveness, but now he was trapped in it.
Not long after, his phone vibrated. As expected, Frank called him.
âWhere have you been? Why hasnât there been any news yet?â The CECEO sounded furious..
havenât given you any news because nothing urgent has happened, SiSir Jeremy said, tapping the steering wheel. âMiss Martin just went to to attend an invitation from a friend, had lunch at a restaurant, and
âShopping? She still has time to have fun when her safety is
threatened?â Frank grumbled in disbelief.
Jeremy raised his eyebrows as high as possible. His brain looked like it needed a massage. He must be extra careful in selecting which information could be conveyed.
âIt seemed that Miss Martin dared to have fun because of the person accompanying her. She feels safe.â
âSafe? Who accompanied her shopping?â Frank inquired in a wary
tone.
Jeremy took a moment to pause. He couldnât possibly hide everything from Frank. âBen Wilson.â
The sound of a table crashing suddenly came from across the phone.
âBen Wilson? How could that be? Theyâre secretly dating behind me? That stupid woman dared to defy my prohibition?â
Jeremy was silent. He knew that no words could quell the jealousy in his masterâs heart.
âThen now, are they still together?â Frank inquired sarcastically.
âNo, Sir. Miss Martin went straight to her apartment after coming from the mall.â
Frank snorted. âI was trying to protect her from my grandfather, bu she just acted as she pleased.â
âMiss Martin doesnât know that you are secretly protecting her, Sir. Didnât you send me in secret?â Jeremy said lightly. He knew that tone of voice-Frank Harper trying to hide his feelings even though he was emitting smoke.
âYes,â Frank answered simply.
3/5
âAre you jealous?â
An annoyed chuckle was immediately heard. âEnough talking! I donât want to listen to any of your crap. Iâd rather soak in the tub.â
As Frank hung up the phone, the corners of Jeremyâs lips lifted higher.
âHow hot is the fire of jealousy? He has to soak in the bath,â he muttered before putting the phone on the dashboard.
Once again, Jeremy checked Karaâs apartment window. The lights. had apparently been turned off.
âBringing two people together is not easy. The angels of love must be confused about arranging the lines of their destiny.â
Suddenly, Jeremyâs cell phone vibrated again. Vivian Bellâs name appeared on the screen. His face instantly became covered with wrinkles. Why did that middle-aged woman contact him on the weekend?
âGood evening, Maâam,â Jeremy said flatly.
âJeremy, how are you?â
He pondered for a moment. âFine. Is there anything I could help?â
âYeah, I want to know how Frankâs doing. Iâve called him dozens of
times, but he didnât answer. What really happened?â
Jeremy furrowed his brows deeper. He was considering which
position the commissioner was in.
âYoung Master had a big fight with his grandfather.â Thatâs the safest
answer.
âWhy?â
The loyal assistant took another break. âHe refuses his arranged marriage with Isabela.â
Vivianâs sigh was heard again. âWhat was Frankâs reason for making such a crazy decision?â
âYouâd better ask the Young Master directly, Madam. I donât know what his motive is either.â
âThis is serious, Jeremy. If this fight drags on, Savior could be
shaken. Iâm the one who has the biggest headache in the end,â Vivian muttered in a desperate tone.
Jeremy just listened without commenting.
âSince Frank wonât answer my calls, please remind him not to be careless. He is an adult. He must realize that the fate of millions of
people is far more important than his ego.â
âYou support Mr. Rowan Harper?â Jeremy inquired spontaneously.
âNo. I support the continuity of the company. Even if Frank doesnât want to marry Isabela, thatâs fine with me, as long as he doesnât abandon the company. It would be in vain for me to fight for his rights if in the end he ignores his responsibilities.â
Jeremy nodded faintly. As far as he knew, Frank was able to gain the trust to serve as CEO because of Vivianâs help.
Previously, Rowan was reluctant to step down from Savior. Vivian helped Frank reform the company in a much better and brighter direction. Apparently, she was still on the same side.
âOkay, Madam. Iâll tell him later.â
âThanks, Jeremy. Be patient with a boss like that.â
Jeremy just raised an eyebrow when Vivian ended the call. After five years of service, he was used to facing Frank Harper. However, he had to admit that Frank had never been this reckless.
