Chapter 60
Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father
âIt was still on this morning. But why itâs off now?â Kara muttered.
Isabela smiled crookedly. âYou poor thing! Who would use an old phone with a thousand cracks like that?â
After wiggling an eyebrow, Isabela sauntered in. Her hips deliberately pushed Karaâs elbow so that the phone slipped from her grasp. As it hit the floor, Kara could only gape. Meanwhile, Isabela held back her laughter.
âYou shouldnât get in my way. Iâm in a hurry. My Hubby misses the coffee I made.â
Kara didnât budge looking at that shameless face. Only after her eyes
flashed did she let out a sigh of disbelief.
âDonât you owe me an apology, Miss? You dropped my phone.â
Isabela shrugged her shoulders. âI didnât mean to. Why are you accusing me? Besides, the phone was already broken. Why are you making a big deal out of it? It should be thrown in the trash. Buy a
new one.â
âEven though itâs broken, you donât have the right to drop it,â Kara said firmly.
Hearing that high and bold tone, Isabela put her hands on her hips. Her brows furrowed in displeasure. âYouâre against me because of that old thing? Is your life that sad? You donât have enough money to buy a new one, hmm?â
Kara shook her head in disbelief. âYou have no right to comment on other peopleâs lives, let alone control them.â
âIâm not controlling, but opening your eyes. Youâre a secretary in a big

company.

Frank doesnât pay you well if you keep using that old junk.â
Kara clenched her fists to hold back her anger. Isabela was right. The phone was indeed out of date. However, as long as it still worked,
Kara didnât mind. Most importantly, she could collect photos of the twins and communicate with them.
âOr,â Isabelaâs voice echoed again, âshould I give you one of my phones? I have five. You can take the cheapest one. Itâs probably worth ten monthsâ your salary.â
Kara sighed tiredly. There was no point in talking to Isabela. Shaking her head faintly, she bent down, about to take her phone.
Unexpectedly, Isabela kicked it! That fragile gadget rolled out the door. Kara was at a loss for words. She now understood why the CEO rejected the arranged marriage. Isabela had the heart of a devil!
âMiss Hall?â Kara scolded with teary red eyes.
âWhat? I didnât mean to. I wanted to take the teapot. Itâs not my fault if that trash got in my way.â

Kara grimaced in annoyance. Biting her lip, she went to get her phone. However, when she was about to stand up, a shiny black loafer stopped in front of her.
âWhat is this?â A manâs voice echoed.
Kara looked up. As soon as she noticed the frown on Frankâs forehead, she quickly stood up and looked down. She was confused about what to answer.
Meanwhile, Isabela was wide-eyed. She didnât expect Frank to follow her into the pantry.
âHubby, sorry to keep you waiting. I wanted to make coffee quickly, but your secretary got in the way.â
Kara was stunned to see Isabelaâs charade. Before she could blink,
Frank snatched the phone from her grasp.
âWhat about this thing? Was it blocking you too until you kicked it
that hard?â
Isabela stuttered. âI-I didnât mean to. Your secretary put it on the floor. She must have hoped I stepped on it so she could claim
compensation.â
Frankâs expression darkened. In a deep voice, he said, âApologize to
Kara.â
âWhat?â Isabelaâs eyes widened. Her hands were pressed to her chest. âI apologize? What for? I didnât do anything wrong. Sheâs the one who should apologize to me. She framed me.â
âYouâve insulted her, added damage to her phone, and slandered her. Apologize now.â Frankâs voice deepened.
Isabelaâs chest became tighter. She never wanted to apologize to
women who were âlowerâ than her. Therefore, she folded her arms in front of her chest and looked away. âI told you, itâs not my fault.â
âOkay, if you donât want to. Iâm really disappointed to have a wif no morals like you. You canât even take responsibility for your
mistakes.â
Isabela glanced at him with a tangled expression. Her feet hit the floor once. âIâm not guilty! The phone was damaged since the beginning and deserved to be thrown away,â she said curtly.
Suddenly, Frank grabbed Karaâs wrist and pulled her closer to him. Isabelaâs heart grew hot watching it. âHubby?â
âOnce again youâve made a fuss in my office, donât expect to ever set foot here again. Now keep your word. Make me coffee.â

A second later, he turned to the secretary and softened his tone.
Kara, come with me to my room. You donât need to deal with this rude.
woman.â
âWhat?â Isabelaâs vocal cords were pinched. âHubby?â
However, before she had time to protest, Frank had turned towards
his room. Kara had no other choice but to follow him. She looked back and forth at his hardened jaw and the pale face of the woman behind them.
âSir? My lunch-â
âLeave it.â
Kara didnât know what to say. She didnât expect to be caught in such a
situation.
âHubby!â Isabela called again, making Kara look back. The
supermodelâs expression had never been so ugly.
However, Frank didnât care. He kept walking and turned towards his
room.
Kara could regain her senses only after Frank sat her down in the guest chair. âSir, you shouldnât defend me in front of your future wife.â
âIâm standing up for whatâs right,â Frank said swiftly.
A second later, he took a phone out of the drawer and put it next to Karaâs. Thatâs what he wanted to give the secretary.
âI apologize on behalf of my future wife. Because she broke your phone, please accept this one as compensation.â
Kara looked at where Frankâs finger was tapping. The reflection of the diamonds on the side of it made her breath heavy. It was too
expensive for her to accept.

âIâm sorry, Sir. I really appreciate your good intentions, but no. I canât
accept it.â
Frank raised an eyebrow. âIf you donât want to, that means I have to force my future wife to kneel before you. She has to be taught
manners.â
Kara gasped. She couldnât imagine the anger of Isabela and Rowan, as well as the uproar of the guards if that happened.
âApologies should not be forced, Sir. There will be no sincerity in
them. I donât need it.â
âWhat else can I do? I have to educate my future wife. It could be dangerous if she keeps behaving in an arbitrary manner. The wife of the greatest CEO cannot have a flawed attitude.â
Karaâs mouth opened wide. Her heart started racing. âBut, when we
first met, you were also mean to me.â
âThatâs a different case. Donât compare me to her. So, you still donât
want to accept it?â
Frank brought the rose gold phone closer to her. Kara blinked wordlessly.
âOkay. I will drag the witch before you now.â Frank stepped quickly towards the door. Kara had no other choice but to take the luxury
phone and raise it up.
âOkay! I accept it!â
Frank secretly smiled. After disguising his excitement, he turned
around and shoved his hands into his pockets.
âGood. Now, let me accompany you to lunch.â
While Karaâs eyebrows furrowed again, Frank nimbly unpacked the lunch boxed and arranged it on the table.
