The house is awfully quiet, It looks like everyone is in their own world. Even my son can sense the tension.

Jace woke up, I am still amazed at the speed at which he healed. He has been stuck in our room since morning though. He left the pack hospital in a bad mood and requested us to give him space,

His dad is in his room too. He locked himself there when we came back and I haven’t seen him since, Chase, on the other hand, went to our previous pack for his stuff. I told him about Dad’s offer and he was excited.

The school was supposed to start today but due to the unavoidable, it’s postponed until Jace feels better. He lost his mother yesterday and it’s affecting him more than I thought.

“Is everything okay, is he still in bed?” Dad enters the room and I sigh sitting up. Finally a presence in the depressing environment. He left for. work early. He said he wanted to reshuffle everything in the pack.

“The house is depressing Dad.” I hand my son to him and walk to the kitchen to bring him his coffee”

“Hello, champion” Dad pauses the video and Liam pouts staring at him with large innocent eyes. He is never quiet.

“Are you okay sweetheart?” Dad pinches his cheek and his eyes water

“Daddy is sad again”Liam whispers on the verge of tears. Oh! goddess. I knew he could sense what was happening. Especially when everything he wanted to do with Jace is still untouched.

Do you want to make him feel better?” he asks and Liam frantically nods. His tears roll down his chubby cheeks like a waterfall and I feel bad I didn’t realize what he needed earlier.

I should have let him go instead of giving him my phone. Liam doesn’t understand why his dad is locked in our room. He doesn’t know his need

for space.

Father places him on the ground and before he can even say the words, my son is running toward our room.

I silently grab the coffee maker and begin what brought me to the kitchen.

“Your kid is smart Ana. He can feel what is happening” Dad starts beside me and i give him the steaming liquid.

“I should have sensed his need” I lower my face feeling disappointed.

“Hey baby, it’s not your fault. Half of the time I didn’t even understand anything. Thanks to your mother, she made everything easier.”

He chuckles and that reminds me.

“Are we getting her back?” I hopefully whisper and his smile widens. “Of course sweetheart. I got a call today that Leornado didn’t die. He is badly injured but he survived.”

“Oh, Dad! I thought this was finally over”

“As long as it is the royal pack, drama never ends”

“We have his mother through. And that gives us an advantage” He walks to the dining chair and I follow him.

“I won’t call it an advantage Father, he has had Mum with him, for a very long time”His eyes were saddened but he quickly hid the emotion.

“How was she? I mean when you saw her?” I think about the woman on the floor. I didn’t see quite much but she wasn’t so miserable. She still has life.

“She looked, average. She was not in bad or good condition. She

appeared normal to me” I say and he slightly smiles like he remembered something.

“I know she will push through. My Lia was a strong wolf” He smiles and that piques my interest.

“Tell me about her dad” I whisper placing my elbows on the table and leaning in toward him.

“Your mother was the princess when I met her. During our time, her father was the king and my father acted as his beta” Wow! I could have never guessed that.

“I was not raised in the royal pack like everyone else, but when I shifted, Dad forced me to come here and that was when we realized we were soulmates”

“Is that why you don’t have help around?” I motion to his mansion and he nods. People come twice a week to clean the house but aside from that, dad does most of the things by himself. Even grocery shopping.

“And I think you should practice the same sweetheart, Imagine having half of the guards betray you, what worse do you think they can do?”

“You already shifted and I want you to be very careful of who you associate with, especially at school. Remember, no one should be trusted” “Okay Father”.

“Now go see your mate, sometimes When we say we want space, we don’t usually mean it” I chuckle quickly getting up. I hope he is right.
