Chapter 377
The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 377: A TASTE OF FRUSTRATION Cane could concoct a grand plan that could turn this entire continent upside down and render the King useless with the power in his hand, but he couldnât figure out what was the cause of Irisâ anger, since none of the logical things that he could think of was enough to tick her off.
Gill had died and it didnât look like she was dealing with her trauma right now, because Cane could feel the anger was directed at himself. What had he done so wrong to incur her wrath?
Was it the recent news of the baby? Iris knew very well the baby was not his. It was Redmondâs.
"Talk to me, why are you angry?" Cane asked her calmly, but his grip was firm, as Iris wouldnât stop trying to get away from him. If it had been any other day, he would have let her go to cool off on her own, but the Alpha was being a little bit selfish right now. He didnât want to wait as he demanded an answer from her there and then, an explanation about what bothered her.
Iris glared at him, because she couldnât make him loosen his grip and Cane held her dagger look. He didnât budge.
"Why are you angry?" Cane asked the same question again, but this time, Iris bit his wrist in her attempt to shake him off. It was clear she didnât want to speak now, yet Cane wanted the opposite.
He didnât like their current tempo. He was not comfortable with what was happening between them.
This could be considered as their first real fight, where neither of them wanted to back down, being beyond stubborn.
The Alpha let his mate bite him as she liked, after all, this was not the first time she bit him, though he would prefer the first time...
Cane stared at her curly, auburn hair, which was slightly messy. Several strands of hair came out of her braids. Though he could feel her teeth sinking deeper into his flesh, he didnât flinch and actually caressed her head instead, which made Iris lift her head and swat his hand away.
"Donât touch me!" Iris screamed in anger. Her emotions were all over the place. She felt like she no longer remembered what she was angry about.
She was drowning in a mixture of fear, anger, frustration, panic, cluelessness and everything else...
It was so hard for her to communicate her feelings, forming the words while being angry was way easier.
"Donât touch me! Donât touch me! Donât touch me!" Iris snapped, she balled her fists and started to hit Cane. She hit his arms and chest, but he didnât budge, nor did he let her go, instead, his eyes became sharper and his jaw hardened to see Iris lost it.
Before his eyes, he could see how Iris became frantic and confused.
When Cane didnât show any reaction to her hitting him, she kicked him instead. She tried to kick his leg so hard, but she forgot, the man before her had gone through so much worse than this, he was built differently...
"Ah!" Iris immediately knelt down when her toe sprained after she kicked his shin. Cane quickly squatted down as well to check on her, only a swift but harsh slap landed on his cheek, which left both of them surprised.
The pain in her palm snapped her back from her conniption, but the next thing that happened made both of them unable to utter a single word, as Cane kissed her roughly. He put his hand on the back of her head to deepen their kiss.
They could taste the frustration and desperation from one another...
=============================
"Mother, please...! Please! Stop this! Argh!!!" Alan screamed at the top of his lungs, while no one could save him, since it was only him and his mother inside this room. The damned room, in which he had been confined to for weeks! "Mother, please! You are going to kill me, if you keep doing this!"
Alan felt his heart would burst into a million pieces, as it beat so fast. He was having a hard time breathing. His face turned red. And all of this was the handiwork of Lady Cyan, who looked at him with so much anger in her beautiful eyes. Murderous intention radiated from her when she gritted her teeth.
If she didnât have any use for this useless son of hers, she would have killed him a long time ago! She hated children and having a child on her own didnât change that feeling at all!
The only thing that kept her from killing Alan was the fact, they needed this useless, spineless creature alive until the time was right.
"Enough, Cyan," Dexter said, he put his hand on Cyanâs shoulder, trying to calm her down, because she looked like she was going to kill Alan for real this time.
"How did I give birth to a useless thing like him?! Did I forget to give birth to his brain?!" Cyan gritted her teeth, as she fought the urge to kill him right there and then.
Thanks to Caneâs scheme, she could appoint his brother as the leader of the royal sorcerers without making a fuss or raising any suspicion, but this son of hers had to go and dig their own graves by actually inviting the Serafim to this continent.
Lady Cyan put down her hand, she couldnât kill him, or else, decades of meticulous planning would go down the drain. She was right when she thought stupid people could drag the people around them down to their demise with their stupidity.
But, it was so ironic when the stupid figure was her own child.

"The child will be ready by the end of this spring." Dexter went over to check on Alan, who was whimpering pitifully.
"Mother, how can you not do anything when they talked rubbish about me and stripped me of my status?!" Alan wailed, feeling unfair and this only made lady Cyan boil in anger even more.
