Chapter 728
The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 728: THE REFUGEES IN THE HOWLING WOLF PACK Everyone was surprised when they saw there were a lot of children and people that suddenly appeared in the front yard of the pack house, all the warriors came to inspect this, Kaz also was woken up with the commotion and checked what actually was going on when he saw the yard filled with people and crying children.
"Whatâs going on here?! Who are they!?" Kaz looked around and called for more guards and warriors to come, which only made the children cried even harder to see they were surrounded by beasts.
They were already shocked because of the sudden attack from the monsters that transpired before, therefore, when they saw the beasts around them, they freaked out and cried out of fear, which woke up the entire pack house and drew attention from the warriors and the guards to come.
Thankfully, Aderan, Eron and Dyne immediately stepped forward and explained the situation to Kaz. They told him about what happened and who they were.
"We donât have place to shelter them!" Kaz hissed when he heard the explanation, his eyes widened in shocked. "We donât have enough food to feed them! We canât accept them here!"
"This is not the time for this, Kaz!" Eron berated the old man.
"No! They shouldnât be here, we donât have enough food for them all!" Kaz insisted to not accept them.
"They will stay here momentarily until further order from the alpha," Dyne was too tired to argue, as he found a solution for the meantime, but still it was not enough for Kaz, as he was against the idea.
"No, take them away from our pack! We donât know them!" Kaz crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Where do you want them to leave?!" Eron was furious.
"Take them out of our gates!"
There were children and many people too, their number could reach around five hundreds to six hundreds people, yes, it was a lot, but they couldnât throw them away out of their gates just like that.
"You are insane!" Aderan growled, he was enraged with him.
Slavery had changed people, but Kaz really showed the worst of him. He became very sceptic and hateful toward the outsider and the matter with Sofia only enhanced his hostility. Kaz was not shy to show his enmity to the other member of different pack from them.
He hated those outsiders, who messed and ruined his pack!
Aderan then narrowed his eyes. "You are supposed to be not in the pack house anymore. Didnât the alpha order you to leave the pack house after six months?"
Kaz was taken aback when he was reminded of this. "Carla still needs help, she still doesnât understand how the pack works!" Kaz retorted.
Unfortunately, Aderan didnât buy it. He stepped into the pack house and looked for her himself. "She is the one in charge here, not you."
"Aderan!" Kaz shouted, while Eron and Dyne had left to talk with the other guards and warriors about their current situation.
And because they didnât have enough room inside the pack house, they decided to build tents in the yard, for now, this was all they could do until further instruction about what they were going to do with them.
But, among these people, there was one woman, who came to Eron, she was Asa, Vemionâs wet nurse.
"Sir, you canât put our lady and her baby with these people," Asa said with concern, but Eron didnât pay close attention to her, thus he didnât know, who her lady was. Seeing this, Asa explained about Laluna. "You canât put my lady and the baby with them. After all, our young master is the future king of this continent."
Eron wanted to roll his eyes very hard, but he held himself back from doing so. "Where is your lady and the baby? Follow me."
Asa immediately left to fetch Laluna and baby Vemion, as Eron escorted them into the pack house and gave them a guest room.
Among the chaotic situation, he didnât even realize that Laluna was one of the people, who escaped through the portal with them.
Meanwhile, Kaz kept arguing with Aderan when he looked for Carla, since she supposed to be the one in charge in this pack.
Thankfully, he didnât need to look for her for long, because the young girl had rushed toward him, she was about to go to the yard after she was being woken up by the commotion. Carla was still wearing her nightgown, while covering her body with thick cloak. Her face flushed red and her hair was unkempt.
"Aderan? You are back?" She was surprised to see Aderan was here, because this man had been away from the pack house for a long time. "What happened out there?"
Aderan immediately explained the situation to Carla briefly and she listen carefully, both of them ignored Kazâs interference.
"Kaz, if you kept doing this, I donât have another choice, but to send you away from the pack house." Carla looked at Kaz sternly after she learned what happened. "You have disobeyed the alphaâs order by still staying in the pack house."
"Itâs because you have not yet capable of taking care of this pack!" Kaz scoffed.
Carla wanted to argue again, but in the end, she had enough. "I will ask someone to escort you out of the pack early in the morning, you better take a rest."
"Carla!" Kaz roared when he heard what Carla said. He couldnât believe with what he heard.
Ignoring the old man, both Aderan and Carla went to the front yard, leaving Kaz alone there, who was fuming mad.
Yet, Kaz didnât just stay there and wait, he followed them outside and found Dyne. There was something he wanted to confirm so badly.
"Tell me, tell me the truth." Kaz grabbed Dyne by his elbow, which made the warriors frowned.
"What?"
"Is the luna really pregnant?" Kaz asked in low voice. He heard about this news, but he had no way to confirm this. Learning from his experience with Sofia, he didnât want to immediately jump into conclusion and easily believed whatever he heard, until he saw it with his own eyes.
"Yes." Dyne was a little bit annoyed with Kaz to ask about this matter when they were busy to prepare the tents for hundreds of people, so they could rest.
He didnât know what happened in the Golden Light pack and could only pray they would receive a good news. Even now, Dyne was thinking of going back straight away to the Golden Light pack, or at least, gathered some news about what had transpired.
Not only that, they also needed to get more information about what happened in the Aggeverya road. Was that place being attacked too?
However, Kaz was so dense, he only cared about one thing and this infuriated Dyne with his next question.
"Are you sure, the baby is alphaâs?" Kaz frowned when he questioned the baby in Irisâs stomach and this set Dyne off.
The warrior actually glared at Kaz. They had been having this inside joke about the babies, but who would have thought this would come handy.
"Yes, Kaz. No doubt about that." Dyne turned around and paid close attention to him. "Actually, the babies seem to mock the whole pack, because the luna is having twin right now. Like all of us have been aware of, the alpha had twin sibling and now he is going to have twin children."
"Twin?" Kaz widened his eyes, before the surprised replaced with happiness. "They are going to have twin?!"
The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter ï¤Chapter 727: FROM HERE, HE LOOKS LIKE HE IS CRYING Dyne chose to leave the old man. He didnât have time to deal with him, more so, after what happened, he didnât think the luna wanted for Kaz to be close with the babies.
"There will be twin!" Kaz was happy enough with the news, as he dropped the matter with these refugees and went inside the pack house to announce it to everyone that they were going to have twin!
He was thinking to change the lunaâs bedroom into a nursery room, since the luna and the alpha slept in the same bedroom.
This would be a surprise and a good gesture from him to greet the new heir for the pack and the luna wouldnât be so mad, right? They had to leave the grudge behind and start a new Chapter, so everyone could move forward!
He was excited about this plan and immediately told Maria to help him with this.
=============================
It was hard to say what to feel, when sadness and joy happened at the same time, you would have a hard time to decide, which feeling was more profound to come to the surface.
As a result, it was guilt that you have to endure when you felt either of both feeling.
Iris couldnât feel the joy from having her baby in her arms and fully celebrated her existence in this life, because at the same time, she mourned the death of her other baby. But, when she was sad for her baby that was not survived, she felt bad because she was not happy enough for the one that was alive.
Whether it was joy or sadness, she felt guilty to feel either.
Iris and Cane had talked about the name of the babies in the rare occasion they had, but had not yet decided it.
"I want to name her Rora, after your sister..." Iris said and her voice turned hoarse. "And the other is Crystal... I like their name."
"Okay." Cane agreed with her.
