Chapter 873
The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 873: YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE THEM "Itâs the alpha, who sent us here, miss..." Hanna said, as she helped Iris to sit down, she looked pale and in one glance you could tell life had not been so kind to her currently. "He didnât say anything, only told us to look after you."
Obviously, Cane didnât tell them about Irisâs pregnancy, which left her with the option.
"Luna, what happened? Are you sick?" Amee asked. She knew Cane well enough to tell something was wrong between them two, but unless one of them said something, she didnât want to poke her nose into their problem too deep.
But, instead of saying something, Iris burst into tears. She hugged Hanna tightly. She looked for comfort that she couldnât get from Cane, but still, he was the only one she wanted. The only one her heart needed.
Outside of the carriage, the five warriors couldnât tell what was going on inside, they also didnât have any idea what went wrong when the alpha was finally here instead of the lycan.
But the five of them could tell their alpha and their luna was currently having a fight. Therefore, it was very frustrating when they caught their alpha stayed in the distance, sometime he would stare at the carriage for hours, but didnât approach the luna, because in the end, he would always leave.
Just like what the alpha was doing right now.
"Should you go and tell the alpha to solve whatever problem he has with the luna? She has not been out for days now," Otis said to Zephyr.
"Why donât you the one, who go there and tell him that?" Zephyr replied.
"He is going to kill me, canât you feel his dark aura?" Otis shuddered. "I feel chill is running down my spine every time the alpha is like this." He nudged Eron. "Why donât you go there and say something to the alpha?"
"Itâs generous of you to think that the alpha will not kill me," Eron grunted. Their alpha was the best, but they missed their warm- hearted luna too.
In the end, no one of them were dare enough to say anything, while Amee and Hanna stayed inside the carriage for hours. It was only night came when Amee finally got out of the carriage and asked for the alpha.
"I am not sure, where he is," Zephyr replied truthfully.
"We are not allowed to leave this spot. We have been camped here for days." Otis stretched out his body. They had prepared a tent for the luna and the alpha and they had not yet used it.
"Maybe you can ask Ethan, the gamma has been following the alpha," Dyne suggested. "Or look for Aliana if you couldnât find gamma Ethan."
Amee nodded and thanked them, but before she left, Eron approached her to talk.
"Can you talk to the alpha? He has not seen the luna for days and only stared at the carriage all this time. I donât know what the problem between them, but it worried us to see them fighting like this." Eron had not yet seen the luna, but he knew her situation wouldnât be so great. "I can see the alpha cares for the luna, or else, he wouldnât station us here and call you and Hanna to come to comfort the luna, but I think the only person the luna needed the most is him."
Amee patted Eronâs shoulder. "Letâs see what I can do."
After that, she went to find Ethan, but she couldnât, thus she looked for Aliana. She was talking to Jace about something, but when she saw Amee, she immediately approached her.
She was old already and standing up for long hurt her back, thus Aliana took her inside her tent and served her with warm tea.
"Can you tell me what happened with Cane?" Amee asked.
fгeeí¤ebɳoveÉ.cøm "Did... the luna said something to you?" Aliana wanted to know how much she knew. She didnât want to be the one, who told the news because it was not her place.
"Yes, she is pregnant," Amee replied. She was very excited with this pregnancy, but she didnât think Caneâs reaction would be like this, even for her, it came as a shock about how strong Caneâs rejection was.
Wasnât this what he always wanted?
Aliana sighed deeply and then told her everything that happened. It made things easier because the luna actually had told her about the big news.
"Alpha shouldnât have treated the luna like this. This is very hard on her, it took toll on her and I am worried about her babies." Aliana frowned.
Grace would come often to check on Irisâs condition, but there was not much she could do because the illness didnât lay in her body, but in her mind and heart.
"Donât you think itâs cruel for him to not talk about this with the luna? Instead, he has been running away from the problem." Aliana wouldnât have said this in front of Ethan, but Amee was different, she was like the mother of the pack. She cared for all the member and especially the alpha.
"Just because he didnât show it, it doesnât mean he is fine. He is torturing himself too right now." Amee sipped her tea. "I donât think he is running away. He didnât even know where to run..."
Aliana was silent for a moment. "I still donât think itâs right for the alpha to ignore the luna."
"If you thought about it again, Hanna and I wouldnât be here if he ignored the luna, neither the five warriors wouldnât have been stationed outside of the carriage for day and night." Amee stood up. She needed to look for Cane. "As much as the luna needed him, the alpha also needed time to process his grief."
"The luna is grieving too."
"Donât judge other peopleâs grief. Everyone grieves differently." Just because Cane didnât show it, it didnât mean his grief was not as deep as Iris. "I can understand with the alphaâs reaction and his poor choice to keep his distance from the luna, but he deserved some time to think everything thoroughly and sort out his emotions, least he hurt her with what he said in a fit of his desperation. Not being there with her doesnât mean he cares about her any less."
Amee tightened the cloak around her body and Aliana also stood up. She would accompany her to find the alpha.
"I can understand why the luna is scared too, she has been rejected by so many people in her entire life, thus being rejected by the alpha must be the hardest for her."
Aliana sighed deeply. "There is no win win solution for this..."
Both of them couldnât find Cane after asking around. They said the alpha shifted into his beast and went away without telling them where he had gone.
However, they found Ethan.
"The alpha must be with Lou, the two of them went to Chrystal Moon pack to investigate something." Ethan couldnât disclose what they were investigating, but they didnât need to know about this. "If you want to meet with him, I think it will be alright for you to wait for him inside his tent.
Usually, Cane will return to his tent to change his clothes after his journey with Lou."
With that, Amee went to Caneâs tent and wait for him. It took her hours for Cane to finally return and the alpha didnât look surprise to see her there. He had sensed her scent once he was close enough to the tent.
It was already past midnight, almost morning when Cane comeback.
"Alpha." Amee stood up to greet him.
"Not now, Amee." Cane went to change his clothes. It was not sure what kind of place he and Lou visited, but he always had dirt on him when he returned.

Amee didnât back down, at the very least, he had to listen to what she was going to say, or the very least, he needed to let out whatever thing he was trying to hold back. "I know you are hurt, but you are hurting her too."
"I said not now, Amee." Cane took off his clothes and changed it with new one.
With this attitude, Amee didnât have another option, she toughened up and talked sternly to him. "Cane, you are afraid of losing yet another baby again, thatâs why you didnât even want to think that you have a chance to have them, but you canât act like this forever."
Cane turned around and growled dangerously at Amee. "I donât want a child! You have seen it yourself how she went into a pitfire when we lost our babies! I am not going to go through that again!"
"Are you going to force her to get rid of the babies?" Amee stood her ground. She knew Cane well and she needed him to get it out of his system, since he had been holding back so much. Let him scream and be angry if it could help him to clear his mind. "Didnât it make you the one, who pushed her into pitfire then?"
"If itâs not now, the baby will be killed then." His voice was filled with resentment.
"You donât know the future, Cane. How can you assume you are going to lose them? It is your fear speaking. You may not lose them again, no one knew the future, but I am sure, you are going to lose your mate and your babies if you kept doing this to her."
