Chapter 990: BONUS Chapter: MISSING There was nothing unusual for today, as the baby was sleeping peacefully on their cribs and the white bear slept on the carpets close to their cribs.

However, Zander woke up and started to play on his own, which made the bear woke up too and attend to the baby.

Lil Thing nuzzled Zander’s hand that stretched out through the gap between his crib and licked his fingers, which made the baby giggled.

His noise caught Joel’s attention, as he was standing right in front of the door and immediately went into the room to see that Zander was already awake.

Seeing Joel, Zander stood up and raised both of his arms, asking Joel to pick him up.

"Up! Up!"

The twins just celebrated their one year old birthday three months ago and because of everything that was going on around them, the king and the queen didn’t throw a feast for their birthday, instead they celebrated it with a few people that were close to them.

It was an intimate celebration and the twins might not remember that, but all of them, who gathered that day could feel the closeness.

These two were their bundle of joy and happiness. The mark of how everything started to go well for them.

"You are awake, Zan." Joel picked him up and he placed both of his hands on his face, while giggling.

"Joe... out, out," he said repeatedly, pushing Joel’s face toward the door. He wanted him to take him out. The baby didn’t like to stay in one place for too long. "Out... out, go go..."

"Okay, okay." Joel laughed. He really enjoyed his new status as the twin’s personal warrior. They were so adorable. "But only for a while, okay?"

"’Kay." But, Zander turned his body when Lil Thing didn’t come with them. "Lil Thing, Lil Thing out too... go go. Zen too. Zen go out."

However, Lil Thing didn’t budge, it curled its body next to Zenith’s crib. The baby was doing his usual favorite thing, taking a nap.

"Lil Thing will be with Zen. Zen is still sleeping, let’s go out with me, okay?"

Zander furrowed his brows, but then he rested his head on Joel’s shoulder. He didn’t bother the bear and was excited to go out.

Joel told Finn that he would go out with Zander for a while and Zenith was still sleeping with Lil Thing. Currently, Hanna was pregnant and she got a very bad morning sickness, while Aliana had to do something and Grilla just left for a while, because she needed to check on something, she would return in less than an hour.

With how peaceful nowadays, it was fine to lower their guard, especially when Lil Thing was inside.

"Check on Zenith later," Joel said again.

"Okay."

"’Kay!" Zander parroted what Finn said. "Bye Finns... Bye bye..." Zander waved his hands, as he was being carried by Joel to walk in the garden.

"Bye Zan." Finn waved back to the baby.

Ten minutes later, Finn entered the room, he checked on Zenith, but the baby was still sleeping, so he walked out of the room and left him with Lil Thing.

However, not long after he left, Zenith actually woke up and he rolled his body on his cribs, causing him to hit the woods and startled Lil Thing. The bear immediately got up and saw the little one was trying so hard not to cry, but he pursed his lips and grumbled.

After that, Zenith crawled around his cribs, while Lil Thing watched the baby. Crawling and rolling around.

The baby was rather active today, but suddenly, Zenith stood up. He pushed the crib, but it didn’t budge, he pushed it again, wanting to go out, but still it didn’t budge.

Lil Thing tilted its head and stood up on its hindlegs, as it stretched out to Zenith.

The baby giggled and climbed on Lil Thing’s arm, to its shoulder and slid down on its back. Just like that, Zenith could go out of his crib.

"Up, up," Zenith said, as he tugged Lil Thing’s hindleg. He was very familiar with Lil thing and this was not the first time he climbed on its back, but this would be the first time he did it without any surveillance.

Iris would have a heart attack if she watched what Zenith was actually doing right now.

Her baby actually stood up, walked and climbed the bear’s back. He did it with ease and giggled when Lil Thing pushed his bumped so he could sit between its shoulder and held onto its head. The baby’s grip was so strong when he gripped its fur.

"Go, go... there." Zenith pulled Lil Thing’s head, but he didn’t want to go out, he wanted to go to the bathroom and play with water.

Lil Thing obliged. It took the little one to the bathroom, but there was no water on the tub.

Seeing this, Zenith grumbled something incoherently and then took Lil Thing to his parent’s bedroom at the other side.

At this point, there was no baby in the nursery room and when Grilla returned, she was informed that Joel took Zander to stroll in the garden because the baby was awake, but Zenith and Lil Thing were inside. The baby was sleeping.

"Finn! Finn!" Grilla was hysteric and Finn immediately went inside. "Where is Zenith? Where is the baby?!"

"What? The baby is there..." Finn rushed into the room and saw the crib was empty. His heart sank to his knees when he saw this, he was trembling as horror filled his eyes, which reflected well on Grilla’s eyes. "Wh- where... where is the baby? Where is Zenith?"

Finn felt his blood dropped from his face. Both of them immediately scoured the entire room. They couldn’t even find Lil Thing.

"Tell Joel and the king about this," Finn said, he was dreading the king’s reaction, but he was even more afraid if something happened to baby Zenith.

"I will try to track them down."

"Yes, yes!"

Finn shifted into his beast and started to follow the scent that was left behind by Lil Thing and baby Zenith.

It took him to the bathroom, to the king’s bedroom and then went out of the window! Finn was terrified. He was scared something happened to the baby, after all, this was the second floor! Why Lil Thing didn’t make noises?

Was there someone else that took the baby? But, Finn couldn’t find strange scent aside from the two of them, was the enemy did something so they were scentless?

He couldn’t think straight, as he followed the scent and it vanished when he walked across a muddy ground. It had been raining recently and it seemed, they crossed this path.

On the other hand, Grilla was crying when she frantically informed Joel and together they went to see the king to tell him about this.

Grilla apologized profusely, she was crying so hard, while kneeling down.

Meanwhile, Cane’s face darkened, he approached them and took Zander from Joel’s arms, the baby looked at his father with furrowed brows. He had never seen his father angry face before.

"Send out all the warrior to scour the whole area," Cane said, he tried to keep his voice down and press his anger, but Zander could tell that his father was angry. "Where is Lou? I want him to see me now."

"Lou is with a merchant from Karam, he is in a meeting," Jace replied, while Ethan had rushed out of the room to carry the order.

He dragged Joel with him and chided at the young warrior how he could be so reckless. Sure enough the gamma would chew Finn as well for losing the baby.

"Angey..." Zander tilted his head. "Dada angey... why?"

Cane could feel his anger subsided a little when Zander touched his face. He stared at him with his innocent eyes.

"Why angey?" Zander pursed his lips.

"I am not angry with you," Cane said, he kissed his forehead. "Go with Grilla, okay?"

"No." Zander wrapped his arms around his father’s neck. The little one nuzzled his neck and Cane couldn’t get him off of him. "No, no, San wants with you..."

Cane waved at Grilla, telling her to go, as he carried Zander to investigate where his sibling was and how could Lil Thing not do anything when it happened. What actually was happening?!

Cane was agitated, but this made Zander restless too.

"Has anyone informed the queen?" Cane asked Dean, who followed behind him.

"Not yet. The queen is in the orphanage with Zephyr and Penny," Dean replied. Penny was the new healer for the pack and today Iris was scheduled to visit the orphan.

"I will go there to inform her myself," Cane said. He caressed Zander’s back, trying to tell him that he was alright, because he could pick up the negative emotions around him and this made him uncomfortable.

Cane didn’t waste his time and took his baby to see Iris, who was with the other children, while kept in tab about the searching of Zenith and Lil Thing.

If it happened only a while ago, they shouldn’t have been too far from the pack house.

Cane approached her and interrupted her conversation with one of the children. This visit was surprised Iris, but even more with the news that Cane told her.

"What happened?" Iris asked, she took Zander from Cane’s arms, frowning to see her mate’s expression.

"Zenith and Lil Thing went missing," Cane said bluntly.
