Chapter 147
My Wife Is An All-Around Expert
Chapter 147
Violetâs opening of the door startled the people in the office.
Two pairs of eyes turned toward her simultaneously.
Violetâs expression changed slightly. It was because the person kneeling on the floor was none other than Henry, who had been threatening her all
along.
Henry recognized that it was Violet. He was about to stand up, but he met Patrickâs icy and stern gaze. Henry clenched his teeth and kept his head down, not getting up.
Violetâs expression kept shifting. She walked in and closed the door behind her.
Though she couldnât quite grasp what was going on, it was evident that Henryâs situation was somewhat related to her.
Patrickâs gaze turned to Violet as if he couldnât see the other person in the
office.
Patrickâs expression was unreadable, making it impossible to discern his emotions. He asked Violet, âWhat are you here for?â
Violet glanced at Patrick, then at Henry, who was still kneeling on the floor. She didnât answer Patrickâs question. Instead, she asked, âWhatâs going on here?â
Patrickâs eyes darkened. âItâs just as you see.â
Violetâs eyes flickered, and she asked straightforwardly, âWhy is he kneeling to you?â
A mocking smirk appeared on Patrickâs face. âWhat? Do you want to plead
for him?â
Violet looked at him and said helplessly, âYouâre thinking too much. Iâm not that generous. At most, Iâm just curious.â
Upon learning that for all these years, Henry not only hated her but also.

saw her as a thorn in
his side, using her at every turn, she had long feelings for this person.
lo
Patrick snorted and didnât answer her question. âAssuming what you said is true, why have you come to me?â
Violet looked at him calmly and explained her purpose, saying, âIâve come to thank you. I want to thank you for standing up for me.â
Patrick glanced at Henry kneeling on the floor and then at Violet. âWhich specific incident? If you donât make it clear, how am I supposed to know why youâre thanking me?â
Violet furrowed her brows. She knew Patrick had a sharp tongue, so she suppressed her displeasure and said. âThe Willis familyâs matter, Benedict and Veronica.
Patrick chuckled and replied. âIt seems you do know how to appreciate a favor. Since youâve come all this way to thank me, Iâll be generous and forgive your earlier lack of gratitude.â
Henryâs expression changed. As expected, all those incidents were orchestrated by Patrick, and he had guessed right.
Violet raised an eyebrow and looked at Patrick. She had given him an opportunity, but he still responded in such an awkward manner. She truly had nothing more to say.
She pressed her l*ps together and then said, âT it for tat. You have no obligation to help me. You did me a favor, and I owe you one. Iâll
remember this matter, and if you ever need my help in the future, just ask
me.
Patrick smirked playfully. He had forgotten that Violet was always clear- cut when it came to grievances.
He put on a faint smile and replied, âNot necessary.â
Violet glanced at him and did not argue with him. When Patrick really needed help, she would step in and repay this favor.

hapter!
Little did Patrick know that he would actually call upon Violet not long after making such a straightforward statement.
After Violet finished speaking, she turned to leave.
Unexpectedly, Henry suddenly called out, âViolet!â
Henry looked conflicted. He could tell that Patrick was giving Violet a face.
He realized that Veronicaâs current situation was all Patrickâs doing. When Veronicaâs life was saved, he came to beg Patrick.
He was self-aware enough to know he couldnât outwit Patrick.
When Henry came, Patrick agreed to meet him. But even though Henry knelt to apologize and plead for mercy, Patrick showed no indication of leniency. Henry could only remain kneeling.
And when Violet arrived, she treated Henry as a complete stranger.
Henry had no other option but to call out to her. Once Violet left, Patrick would be even less inclined to listen to him.
Patrick glanced at Henry coldly with a displeased expression.
With a stiff resolve, Henry said, âViolet, I know I was mean and treated you poorly. But considering youâve been with the Webb family for twenty years, please spare us. Veronica has wronged you before, and now sheâs become the laughingstock of the entire Summerwood City, not to mention her legs are cri ppled. Can you say a word for us in front of Mr. Hersey and ask him to spare the Webb family? Please?â
As Henry spoke, he kneeled and lowered his head to Violet.
âIâm begging you, Violet!â His voice was filled with desperation as he pleaded.
Violet frowned deeply, her expression unpleasant. âYou donât have to do this.â
Henry was stubborn, continuously begging Violet. âViolet, itâs my fault. Please spare the Webb family!â

Patrick noticed Violetâs displeased expression. It was evident that while she could be indifferent toward Henry, she couldnât bear to see him
subserviently kneeling before her.
Patrickâs expression grew even more stern. He said, âHenry, thatâs enough! Who do you think youâre threatening here?â
Henry turned to Patrick, and he looked embarrassed. âMr. Hersey, Iâm not threatening anyone. Iâm only begging you to spare the Webb family, please!â
Patrickâs expression darkened. âYou can get lost.â
âDo you agree to spare the Webb family?â Henry pleaded.
Patrickâs voice was chilling as he said, âI donât have a hobby of kicking a man when heâs down. Get out of my sight before I change my mind!â
Henry quickly stood up and expressed his gratitude repeatedly. âThank you, Mr. Hersey!â
Henry left, closing the door behind him, and glanced back at Violet. âThank you too, Violet!â
Patrick threw a document file at him. âGet out!â
Henry immediately closed the door and disappeared.
Violet looked at Patrick with a complex expression. âActually, you didnât need to spare him for my sake. If you find him disagreeable, youâre free to deal with him. It has nothing to do with me.â
Patrick gazed at Violet intently. âDonât you think heâs pitiful?â
Violet scoffed. âPitiful people sometimes have their detestable side.â
Patrick glanced at her. âIf you can think that way, it doesnât matter whether heâs spared or not. After all, I took action against the Webb family in the -first place because of you.â
Violet pressed her l*ps together and looked at him earnestly. âI know. Thank you, Mr. Hersey. Iâll remember this favor.â

Seeing Violetâs sincere and earnest expression, Patrick felt annoyed from the bottom of his heart. His tone turned a bit rough. âNo need. Just bother me less with this kind of matter in the future.â
Violet nodded and turned to leave.
However, Patrick suddenly stopped her with a shout. âOne more thing!â
