Chapter 30
My Wife Is An All-Around Expert
Chapter 30
Veronica was left speechless as she choked on his words. âIâm not coming out anyway. If you want me to sign the divorce agreement, come to the ward.â
Russellâs eyes flashed as he recalled Patrickâs instructions and asked in a cold tone, âWhich ward?â
Veronica provided the ward number and abruptly hung up the phone.
Russell touched the second button of his collar. This was a new piece of
equipment Patrick had specially arranged for him. He couldnât afford to return without gaining anything.
As he gazed at the hospital building, he couldnât help but show a bitter smile. He hadnât anticipated that he, the president of Oceanen Jewelry, would now have fallen to be a spy.
Suddenly, he felt a bit regretful. How come he and Violet had reached this point?
It all began when Violet refused to have S** with him. He then became entangled with Veronica.
Little did he expect that he would lose himself in the process.
When Russell reached the upper floor, two b*dyguards stood at the door of the ward. They not only frisked him but also confiscated his cell phone.
Upon entering the ward, he found Veronica munching on an apple.
Russell promptly handed Veronica the divorce agreement. She had a quick fl*p through the divorce agreement and furrowed her brows. âIs nothing being given to me after the divorce?â
Russell asked with a gloomy face, âWhat do you want?â
Veronica didnât hesitate and said, âMoney.â
Russell looked at her sarcastically and sneered. âYouâre really after the money, huh?â
Veronicaâs face changed slightly. âThatâs not what you said in bed initially.â
Russell mockingly curled his l*ps. âDonât you know that a manâs words canât be trusted in bed?â
Veronicaâs expression turned cold. âI donât care. Iâm married to you now, and I want an equal share of your assets. If not, Iâll file a lawsuit. I donât believe I wonât get a penny. Donât you think that you can just dismiss me like this.â
Russell gazed at Veronicaâs pure white face, which was tainted with insatiable greed.
His tone grew stiffer as he said, âPerhaps I should let the world see how repugnant your face is. If you want to file for divorce, go ahead. After all, Oceanen Jewelry is drowning in debt and lawsuits. If you want it, I can share half of it with you.â
Veronicaâs face abruptly shifted, and she declared, âAlright, Iâll sign.â
Russell felt a wave of disgust wash over him as he witnessed how quickly Veronica changed her attitude.
At that moment, he realized not only did he lack Patrickâs business acumen, but he also came up short when it came to reading people.
How on earth had he become so blind and ended up entangled with Veronica in the first place?
As Russell watched Veronica sign the agreement, his thoughts drifted to what Patrick had said to him before. He coldly remarked, âDonât get too cocky. People are only showing you pity now. Can you keep resorting to suicidal tactics for sympathy every time? Frankly, I canât comprehend how you have the audacity to make those statements online. Itâs evident that you benefited from Violetâs designs and cheated with me all along, yet here you are, feigning innocence. Whereâs your sense of shame, Veronica?â
Veronica responded with an indifferent smile! âSo what? Do they have any evidence?â
Russell looked at Veronica as though he had just got to know her for the first time. âYou sicken me. Youâre only getting away with this and making me take the blame because Violet didnât get enough proof.â
Veronica snorted indifferently and reached up to tousle her disheveled hair in front of her forehead. âAs long as people believe me this time, it doesnât matter. As you can see, Iâm so pitiful now. Even if Violet wins the lawsuit, sheâll still carry the reputation of a heartless, genocidal person.â
Russellâs expression shifted. âSheâs now in Foreverie Jewelry, and Patrick will be on her side.â
Veronica responded with a sardonic smile. âSo what? Violetâs reputation is tarnished. While Patrick may be competent, can he change peopleâs minds?â
She raised an eyebrow and rolled her eyes smugly. âThose idiots on the internet will believe anything I say. Theyâre all blind followers. Donât you get it?â
Russell glanced at her wrist and his expression suddenly changed. âYou havenât slashed your wrist, have you?â
Veronicaâs signing hand froze. She immediately threw the signed divorce papers at Russell and covered her wrist. âWhat are you talking about?â
