Chapter 117
The Stained Omega
Alpha Down.
(Anna)
Itâs peaceful in the clearing, I can see Winter walking around at the other side, she seems to be
patrolling for something but I figure Iâll wait for her to come to me. For now I just lay in the grass and
soak up the sun. Itâs always warm here, the sky is always blue and the grass is always a lush green.
Considering this is where Winter brings me in my dreams this is where I always imagine her to be when
sheâs not
bursting out of me. I feel her getting closer to me so I open one eye and look over at her, sheâs stopped
maybe an arms width from me and dropped a rabbit next to me.
âIs this a gift?â I ask her while closing my eyes and aiming my face at the sun again.
âMore of an apology.â Winter says in a small voice, Iâve never heard her sounding so subdued before.
âI thought only cats brought dead things home.â I chuckle at my own joke.
âOh ha ha ha, I need something from you.â This has me sitting up and looking at her, I cross my legs
and start pulling at the grass around me. Iâm purposefully trying to avoid looking at the dead rabbit, I
know she means well butâ¦ew.
âWhat could you possibly want from me?â I know I sound angry, itâs hard not to be after realising how
much sheâs been controlling me.
âAnna, Iâm sorry. I wasnât in my right mind, Leo wonât talk to me,â Winter slumps onto her front paws and
lays down in the grass closing

her eyes.
âI havenât even shifted with Fraction yet, maybe give us some time?â I lean back on my arms and point
my face to the sun again, âitâs not like youâre hurting here in the time rain forgot.â
âMe and Leo always talk, always have. He refuses to talk to me because it was my idea to take
Thomas and run. Heâs worried I still want to take our son away from him.â I sigh and look at her.
âThat will take some time, the wounds will heal. Fraction understands. we arenât going to do it so just
give Leo time.â I go to lean over and run a hand through Winterâs fur when she sits up so suddenly she
makes me jump. All her fur is on end and her ears are pointed straight up.
âWake up Anna. Right now!â I jolt awake so suddenly I almost fall out
of bed.
Sitting up in the bed I let my eyes adjust to the darkness, once I can see clearly I realise Fraction isnât
in the bed with me.
âHeâs in the clearing, the challenge has started!â Winter growls at me, Iâ m up and out of the bed before
she has even finished speaking. I fly from the bedroom so quickly that I forget to put shoes on, dressed
in nothing but the white shift dress I wore to the ceremony. I fly down the stairs and out of the house. I
donât see another person or hear any sounds until Iâm part way through the forest to the clearing my
challenge was held in..

âYou killed my daughter!â I hear someone scream in a primal rage. After a few more steps the smell of
Fractions blood fills my nose.
âFraction!â I scream Fractionâs name over and over again until my throat hurts. As soon as I break the
tree line I start to scream and run
even faster.

Fraction has Theo beneath him but heâs looking towards me, heâs so focused on me he doesnât see the
knife Simon throws to his father who plunges it into Fractionâs side. Fraction jolts and turns more
towards me and Theo goes limp beneath him, I scream louder as James grabs me around my waist.
âAnna, you canât.â James puts all his weight into stopping me from entering the clearing.
âFraction, help him!â I scream over at Patrick, Darryl and Mac who are watching the fight with Elder
Thomas. I think itâs about that time the males realise something is wrong because James lets me go as
soon as Patrick and Darryl start running towards Fraction. I reach Fraction at the same time as James
and Iâm on my knees feeling him for the wound, I feel it gaping from between his ribs and I use my
hands to try and stop the bleeding.
âDoctor Lee is coming, here Anna take this.â James hands me Fractions t-shirt and I ball it up and
thrust it into his side.
âWake up, you canât leave me. You promised.â I whisper to Fraction ast the tears start to pour down my
face.
âWhere did the knife come from?â Darryl asks loudly. Itâs then that I remember seeing Simon throw his
father the knife.
âPut Simon in the cells, he threw the knife. I saw it happen,â Patrick doesnât even question me he
instantly marches over to Simon and Tray. Simon looks like heâs about to run but when Mac joins
Patrick he realises thereâs nowhere to go. âWhereâs the Doctor, the bleeding wonât stop.â I can hear the
panic in my voice but I canât seem to control it. My hands are shaking as I try to stop the bleeding with a
now drenched shirt.
âHeâs coming Anna, just keep pressure on the wound.â James tells me and Darryl and Elder Thomas
stand off to the side whispering. I hear

about the Alpha Heir being too young and the Luna being to inexperienced.
âStop it! Just stop it, my mate is bleeding out. Now is not the time to worry about the Pack. He needs a
Doctor now! Until heâs cold and has no pulse you have no right to talk like that!â I know Iâm shouting but
why arenât they helping me more? âCan we carry him?â
âDonât move him!â I hear Doctor Lee shout as he comes dashing through the forest. Iâm in shock as I
see Leon running behind him.
âWhy is he out?â James asks with a snarl as Doctor Lee and Leon reach us.
âFor a wound like this I need someone competent. You can do what you like after he helps me save the
Alpha.â I move to the side when Doctor Lee starts to move my hands. âYou did good work Luna, Iâve
got him from here. On the stretcher now Leon,â I watch Leon slide the stretcher pad under Fraction.
âOk you guys need to help me carry him to the medical centre,â Doctor Lee puts his stethoscope on
Fractions chest and then looks up at me. âWe need to get him there quickly, I think he has a collapsed
lung.â
âDarryl, James, help them with Fraction. Get him to the medical centre, Iâll meet you there.â Iâm amazed
that none of them even question me. They instantly do as I tell them and within a minute or so Fraction
is out of the clearing and being carried to the medical centre.
As soon as the clearing is clear except for me, Elder Thomas and the b*dy of Theo I lean over and
empty my stomach into the grass. I heave a few times before I realise nothing else is coming up. I look
down and my white dress is now red with Fractions blood, my hands and arms are covered in it.
âAnna?â I hear Elder Thomas behind me, I move so quickly I donât

think he even had time to react. My hand is connecting with his face, the slap is so loud it seems to
echo around the empty clearing.
âYou warn of Omega pups, of fated mates and you pass judgement on those beneath you. But you
couldnât give me a heads up about this? After everything Iâve been through I now have to lose my mate
to some redneck as shole who has an Alpha ego?â I know deep down itâs not Elder Thoma sâs fault but
the rage and grief inside me is all consuming. âYou pretend to know everything but youâre just making it
up as you go along arenât you?â
âNot everything is written for us to see. We govern because we see a lot but not everything.â Elder
Thomas holds his hands out to me as if pleading for me to understand.
âYeah?â I scoff at him, âwell I donât recognise your authority. Feel free to leave, I have a mate to try and
save!â
With that I turn from him and start sprinting back towards the medical centre. I know Iâve probably pis
sed off someone who has only ever helped me but I needed an outlet and he happened to be there. I
can only hope that when Iâm ready to apologise he is ready to hear it. I run as quickly as I can with
Winter/ whimpering and howling a mournful sound in my ears, I just hope I make it to the medical
centre before itâs too late.
