His Rogue Omega: Chapter 39.

Whoever the rogue watching us was heâs fast, lightning fast, as soon as he realised he had been seen
he ran for it. I chased him all the way to the Pack border before I lost his scent which means he most
likely got into a vehicle of some sort.
âEva?â I ask Rowan I run towards him in the trees, this patch is more like a small woodland area than
an actual forest so itâs not as dark which makes it easy to see Romanâs black wolf.
âAt the house with Sally, the rogue?â Storm doesnât slow down, he keeps running towards the house
wanting to get back to Eva. Clay, Romanâs wolf never slows, he just turns and runs alongside.
âI lost his scent on the border, I want patrols in this patch. I donât know who he was but he got too far
into the Pack land for my liking.â I can feel Rowan beating himself up over the Pack link, when in wolf
form itâs easier to feel your Pack emotions when they are close.
âI dropped the ball, someone should have scanned this area before you brough Eva out here.â Storm
skids to a halt and snaps his jaw at Clay, being a pretty strong wolf himself Clay doesnât back down he
just stops. and tilts his head to the side.
âYouâre spread thin, itâs not your fault. Youâre doing the job of two wolves at the minute, you have three
days and I want your
recommendations for your replacement as Head Warrior.â This has Clay laying down in the dirt and
whining, itâs the only way for him to express his pain at being declas sed. âYouâre not a Head Warrior

are o
Rowan, you at the job but you make a better Beta.â

âBeta? Me?â I just roll my eyes as Storm sets off running back to the Pack house.
âThree days Beta.â I donât hear his reply but I do hear the crunching of leaves and twigs off to my left
which means heâs already running off to do what Iâve asked.
As soon as Storm breaks through the trees he lets me come forward so I can slide myself back into my
jeans and boots. Iâve worked up a big sweat running after the rogue so I just tuck my t-shirt into the
waistband of my jeans and start walking across the garden to find Eva.
âI sent her down to shower and dress Alpha, she was worrying herself something fierce.â I just nod at
Sally as I jog up the porch stairs and head straight for the lounge and down into the basement.
âEva?â I call out as soon as my feet are on the cream carpet of the lounge, I donât get an answer so I
head to the bedroom. Itâs empty but I can hear the shower running in the other room. I force myself to
sit in the chair next to the bed instead of barging into the bathroom.
âHe didnât get anywhere near her.â I grunt as Storm tries to calm my inner nerves.
âNow he knows I have an Omega in the Pack though, some shifters will do anything for an Omega of
their own.â Some see Omegaâs as death. omens but the vast majority see them as they are. Healers,
they connect Packs on a primal level, itâs a known fact that Packs with an Omega in them are stronger
and more organised.
âAnd if he comes back you can rip him apart.â I smile at Storm as the shower shuts off and I hear the
squeak of the glass doors.

It takes a few more minutes but soon the bathroom door is opened letting the steam of the shower
billow out in the bedroom.
âOh thank G od.â I try not to cringe at Evaâs sigh of relief, itâs not her relief itâs the words she chooses.
âYou alright Angel?â I turn in the chair to see Eva standing in a white towel, her hair is piled on top of
her head in a messy bun. Sheâs. wrapped the towel in such a way that it stays put without the use of
her hands.
âI thought the worst when you didnât follow us back to the house, are you alright?â She hasnât moved
from the bathroom door, sheâs bracing herself on the door frame with one of her hands.
âIâm fine, it happens sometimes. With it being Pack land I couldnât just ignore it. Didnât you smell him?
You seemed oblivious.â Even as a new wolf she should be able to sense when someone is next to her.
She shakes her head slowly as she enters the room, her shoulders are slumped and I donât know why
but I get the impression that sheâs lying. âYou sure you didnât smell anything?â
âI smelled something,â her words are slow as she sits on the end of the bed, sheâs only about an armâs
reach from me. âI just didnât know it was a rogue, Iâve smelt it before so I guess I just didnât think
anything of it.â
âEva,â I lean forward intending to put my hand on hers but she flinches. before I make contact. âI need
you to think, thank hard, where have you smelt him before?â Her pink tongue pokes out of her mouth
and runs across her bottom lip giving away her nerves.
âI lied to you,â sheâs looking down at her hands. I thought she had gotten past the eye contact but
apparently not when sheâs scared. âYou remember that day in the club? In the champagne room, when
I danced for you, you asked if I knew about any drugs?â I just nod my head, I

feel my jaw tighten as I start to realise where this is going. âThere are some rooms in Dragonâs Flame
that I was never allowed in, I never thought anything of it until you mentioned drugs. People would
come before the club opened, they would come with money and leave with brown envelopes.
âThe rogue was one of the people?â She nods her head and I canât contain my anger, if she had just
told me this from the beginning I could have dealt with this weeks ago. Without thinking a growl leaves
my throat and I jump up from the chair and head for the door. I stop short of flinging it open, racing to
Dragonâs Flame will fix nothing, so instead I just stare at the wall as I clench and unclench my fists.
âIâm sorry I lied.â Her words have me spinning around quickly but I immediately still when I see Eva in
the middle of the bed cowering away from me. Some of her hair has come loose and falling down her
face, her legs are cantered away from me and the bed is practically shaking from the fear rolling off her.
âShi t, Eva.â I run my hands through my hair and tug slightly, âAngel, Iâ m not going to hurt you.â I force
my shoulders to relax so I donât look as tense but she doesnât move. Her eyes are tracking every
movement I make, âI wish you had told me but I understand. Jeremy was probably listening in that
room so you made the smart decision, you protected. yourself and I can never be mad at that.â Slowly I
step towards the bed with my hands up, showing her I mean no harm. âPlease Angel, donât cower from
me, I wonât hurt you.â Itâs killing me seeing the fear on her face but I know if I touch her right now Iâll just
make this situation worse. Sheâs used to being beaten for the mallets of mistakes and me getting angry
at the situation probably hasnât helped that fear.
âYou f ucked up.â I ignore Storm as I sit on the end of the bed and hold Evaâs eyes, if it wasnât for the
way her shoulders move slightly I would think she had stopped breathing.

âYou wont hurt me?â I shake my head no as her shoulders start to relax a little. âI should have told you
sooner, honestly I just didnât put it together until I was in the shower.â
âItâs alright Angel, now I know I can fix it. I can get rid of the drugs and the rogue at the same time.â She
doesnât need to know that I have no idea how Iâm going to do that, âcome here?â As soon as I open my
arms she flings herself at my chest, I cradle her head against my heart. and slowly start to rock back
and forth. It relaxed her last night so I figure itâs worth a try now, after a while her fear starts to recede
and she lifts her head slightly to bury her nose in the crook of my neck. I just tilt my head to the side
and start to run my hand up and down her back as she takes in lungfulâs of my scent. Even unmated I
know my scent will help calm her, itâs a natural thing that happens between fated mates, my scent will
calm her just as much as having her in my arms. calms me.
âIâm sorry,â I feel something wet drop onto my chest as I lay a small kiss on her forehead.
