“Alright, I left Anna and Eva in the office with Selena. So you have my attention but only until Selena

sets her free.” I drop myself into my office chair and sigh deeply once I see the little baggie of white

powder. sitting next to a two finger full whiskey glass. “How many?” I ask Rowan as I pick up the glass

and down it in one go.

“A lot, I had Francis get rid of the rest. This one I brought back so Selena can have it tested against the

ones we found in Lisa’s house.” Rowan pulls out his notepad as I had him the baggie and he slides it

into his pocket. “You want a rundown?” I nod my head at him, “thirteen rogues dead, Jeremy wasn’t

anywhere to be found but his

scent was all over the office, the basement and what I can only assume was some kind of BDSM

dungeon.” I breathe in through my nose, have no doubt that Eva’s scent was also all over that room.

to a few bites and scratches.” Rowan looks behind him as a heavy handed knock comes to the door, I

nod my head at him and he opens it to reveal Fraction and Rick.

me, the office is way too small for

“Let’s go out into the lounge.” Grabbing the Jameson off the desk I pick up my glass and follow them

into the small lounge, no one comes down here unless it’s to see me so it’s just as private my office.

Once they are all settled onto the sofa I sit on the single armchair and refill my glass before putting the

bottle at my feet.

“How’s Eva?” Rick asks me, he relaxes back onto the sofa, he sounds. genuinely concerned about her

which confuses me because she’s not his Luna.

“She will be fine, what’s up?” Right now I should be chatting with my Beta and Fraction will know that

so it must be something important.

“Thomas called Eva while we were dealing with the rogues,” Fraction explains to me and Rowan. “He

said the Elders have decided that Eval told Jeremy about shifters and that because she is not a

recognised Luna of Everfur they will be seeking the death penalty.” For a second we all sit in silence, I

don’t know about the other but I’m stunned, I don’t understand how they could be so stu pid as to think

Eva actually helped the man who tormented her.

“When are they coming”?” Rowan asks as I sit and stew in my a can feel Storm raging inside of me.

“Unrecognised?” I ask none of them in particular, three pairs of eyes. shoot to me, I guess it came out a

little sharper than I intended. “How the hell is she unrecognised?” I put the glass on the coffee table

and jump to my feet, “she’s carrying my pup, she has my mark, she couldn’t be anymore recognised if I

tried.” I know I’m shouting while I pace but it’s like the final hit I needed for my emotional well to just

“She was never introduced to the Pack and The Elders are aware of it, from what I understand your

mother told them.” Fraction stands

up and walks over to me, as another Alpha he won’t be concerned about me hurting him. I can feel the

“You need to figure out a way to fight this.” I look over at Rowan and he looks as confused as me.

“You’re not going to be here?” It’s not that I need Fraction to hold my hand but it would be nice to have

someone around who has dealt with

“Can’t, I need to get back to Swiftmane and thanks to Thomas defecting me and Anna aren’t in good

standing with The Elders. Us being here wouldn’t help you.” Rick stands from the sofa as Fraction nods

at him, I look between the two of them in shock.

“Wait, you’re leaving now?” I can’t keep the shock from my tone, “so what, you drop this on me and just

leave?” Fraction’s face turns down in a grimace but nods his head.

“I need to get back, something is going on with Darryl and I don’t like. being so far from the Pack for so

long.” I can understand his need to get back but I wish he could stay and help, the anger and

annoyance rises in me until I feel Strom clawing at the edges of my skin.

“So what do I do? Mount her in front of The Elders? How many orga sms will be enough for them?

She’s mine and no one is taking her from me!” Storm growls out without my permission, all three of the

men stare at me in shock just as a gasp comes from the stairs.

“Storm, behave!” I pull Storm back as I look over to see Eva wrapped in a red blanket standing on the

stairs with Selena behind her.

“Time to go,” Fraction says and all three of the guys stand and start to walk up the stairs, they slide

past Eva when she doesn’t move. “Great to see you on your feet Eva, remind your mate he can call

when he calms down.” Eva pods her head as Selena squeezes her shoulder and leaves with the guys.

Alone in the basement we just stare at each other.

I can feel the anger coming off her. she’s not happy but I don’t know if it’s with me or with Storm.

“Angel” I step forward but Eva shakes her head forcing me to stop. I look down at the floor as she

slowly steps down the stairs until she’s standing in front of me.

“Look at me.” Her tone has me shooting my eyes up to her. I’ve never heard her sound so demanding

before. “If I ever hear you talking to anyone about our sex lives again you will find yourself sleeping

alone on the sofa with nothing but a sheet.” I open my mouth to speak but she shakes her head. “I’m

not done.” Her lips are set in a firm line as she opens the blanket and drops the pillow on the floor

before re- wrapping her naked body. I’m not even embarrassed to say I feel my joggers tighten around

the cro tch. “I get that you’re upset that Fraction is staying to help you but you don’t need his help. we

can deal with The Elders on our own. You are a smart. strong and determined Alpha. when you want

something you get it.”

“I don’t know how to fix this.” I tell her honestly. I don’t mind admitting to Eva that I am feeling useless

here.

“Then we will figure it out, together.” She leans up on her tiptoes and lays a soft kiss on my lips. it’s

brief and leaves me wanting more. “You found me. you found Heath. With the Pack left so weak you

still managed to get us both out without losing anyone else. We have time to figure this out, the man I

love wouldn’t give in so easily.” I stare into her blue eyes as I feel her praise bolster my mood.

“You love me.” I can’t keep the smile off my face, it’s the first time she’

s ever said that to me.

“Well you want to hope I do considering I’m carrying your pup.” She smiles at me before brushing past

me and heading into the bedroom.

into the sheets.

“Going to bed, maybe my mate wants to come and hold me?” I’ve literally never undressed so fast in

my entire life.

Sliding into the bed I pull her onto me, I only meant for her to lay her head on my chest but she seems

to have a different idea. She’s laying fully on me, pressing her breasts against my chest, she spreads
