“Are you hurt?” Eva’s small hands slide along my chest as her tiny warm body pushes against me, she’s patting me all over like she’s expecting to find some gaping wound..

“My ears are ringing from that gun shot but otherwise I’m fine.” Eva leans up on her tiptoes as I wrap my arms around her and kiss the top of her head.

“I was worried, he looked like a madman waving that gun around.” I huff out a laugh, she’s not wrong,

Jeremy has clearly lost his mind to walk into a shifter Pack with nothing but a rogue, an outcast and a gun.

“He’s human, as soon as Rowan had that gun taken care of he was like taking a child down. Where did

Vince go?” I had my focus on Jeremy the whole time, the way he was waving that gun around I half expected. it to go off without him meaning to shoot it.

“I’m not sure,” Eva looks behind her with a worried expression, she starts to chew at her lower lip as she scans the tree line. “Selena was right behind me but she was facing Vince. When you attacked

Jeremy I heard growling and then I was so focused on you I lost them.” I kiss the top of her head as I detangle myself so that I can walk towards the tree line.

On the floor there are a few red pebbles where drops of blood have been spilled, thankfully they smell more like Vince than Selena. The earth has been disturbed so there has clearly been some kind of struggle back here.

“That’s not Seléna right?” Eva sniffs while standing next to me, her small hand has creeped into mine.

“No, shift please. I want to go looking for Selena but I don’t want you walking around like that.” I smile down at her as I let my gaze travel along her exposed milky white skin. She blushes deeply before closing her eyes,

I watch as she relaxes her posture and lets go of my hand. She shifts into Ghost pretty fast, I’m not sure how she does it considering I’ve only ever seen Alpha’s and Beta’s shift that quickly. With Ghost now nudging my hand I quickly run my fingers through her soft white fur, she follows me as I step

through the trees and follow my nose. Vince is bleeding so it’s really not hard to follow his scent and soon we are coming across a scene I never thought I would see.

‘Stay there.’ I tell Eva, Ghost nods at me and lays on the floor, I don’t know what’s going on but I’m glad she’s actually listening to me.

“Selena, step back.” I let my Alpha aura sneak out, it’s not so heavy that it will force her wolf to submit but it will calm her down. Right now she’s leaning over a bloody brown wolf, her jaw is level with Vince’s. throat and she’s about ready to snap down on him.

“Alpha.” Heath mutters out as he leans against a tree, his side is bleeding and he’s very human instead of being in his wolf form as I would expect.

“What happened?” I don’t understand why my Head Warrior is sitting off to the side and my Doctor is getting ready to destroy her medical oath.

“He opened my wound, she won’t kill him. I told her you will have questions.” I nod my head at him, looking back at Ghost I see she’s already up and walking towards Heath.

“Alright, step back Selena.” The light brown wolf steps back and lays herself on the floor, she’s not moved far which tells me she’s a lot less relaxed than she would have me think.

“Shift Vince.”

His yellow eyes glare up at me, due to the damage he caused his link to the Pack has been broken, the only way I can talk to him is if he shifts. “Hold tight guys.” I warn the three of them before I pulse out my aura, I hear Selena yelp and Vince starts to visually shake. It isn’t long before the bloody brown wolf turns into a beer belly older man covered in blood.

“Alright, stop.”

He gasps as he rolls onto his side.

“Where’s Mary?” I ask him as I crouch down in the mud next to him, I hear Heath mutter behind me.

“What was that?”

“Why do you think he has Mary?” He’s trying to hide his pain but I know Heath well enough to know he’s more concerned for his mate.

“I smelled her with this f uckers scent.” Selena huffs from next to Vince, agreeing with me.

“Next to a big a ss oak tree?” I nod my head at Heath’s question, “Mary is at the Pack house, I took her there myself. What you smelled was her scenting the area around our house.” Satisfied with Heath’s answer I lean down and pull on Vince’s hair, forcing him to look up at me.

“Alright, where’s Mitch?” I don’t understand why we have seen Jeremy and Vince yet Mitch has left the cell and I’ve not even scented him.

“He ran, damn coward ran.” Vince spits out a glob of blood that barely misses my bare foot, “was meant to help but he said he was done and took off.” I smirk at Vince, it seems like out of the three of them at least one had a brain cell.

“Who were you dealing to in the Pack?” I need to know if more people. are on these drugs, I know better than to believe Jeremy but I’m also not so foolish to not look into it.

“No one, only John. He was a test subject, I didn’t even know what Jeremy was testing. I never even met the bloke until your mother took me to his bar.” Nodding my head I rear my fist back and slam it into his face, he deserves much more but I have a lot to do.

“Dead?” Heath asks from behind me, looking at the ground I see the blood seeping into the mud and leaves.

“Don’t shift Angel.” I grunt out as we get closer to the Pack house, I can see multiple warriors on guard.

The last thing I want is for each of them to get a good look at my pregnant, naked mate.

“Rowan.” Heath mutters out, he lifts a hand to point at a frantic Rowan running down the drive. Even from this distance I can tell he has clothes in each hand, his eyes are glassy which makes me think he’s talking to Selena.

“Got clothes for Selena and Eva,” he passes the clothes to each wolf, they hold them in their mouths as they pad over to a nearby bush. I presume to shift and cover themselves.

“Jeremy?” I ask Rowan as he grabs Heath from the other side and helps. me carry him towards the Exclusive house.

“Dead, he said Mitch took ofl but I don’t know how much of that to believe.” Rowan nods at me as the warriors part, letting us walk onto the drive, I can hear Eva and Selena behind us. “Keep the guards up while Selena looks Heath over.”

“And you? Are you hurt?” I shake my head as one of the warriors opens the door to the Pack house.

“No, I just need time to check Eva thoroughly.” I can feel Storm’s need to check on Eva, I don’t think it’s just because she’s pregnant, he needs to ensure our mate is safe. I can admit I also need to see for myself that she’s alright and not just faking it.
