Chapter 85
The Stained Omega
Mac.
(Fraction)
The five of us sat in silence until Doctor Lee came out and told us we could go in and see Thomas.
Mac is lucky he didnât make a move to come in or I think I would have beaten him into the ground. Itâs
bad enough Anna has brought her boyfriend with her but having him near my sick son too would have
been a step too far. I stand back in the room and let Anna go to Thomas first. he looks tiny in the single
hospital bed. Heâs covered in blue blankets but I can see the lumps under it that are the tell tale sign he
has a cast on his leg. The annoying. beep of the heart monitor tells me heâs alive and not as dead as
he looks, heâs just broken beyond words.
âHow could you let this happen?â Anna whispers as she clutches at his tiny hand.
âWhat?â I ask her thinking I heard her wrong.
âYou were meant to be watching him.â Anna says as she hiccups, sheâs crying but with her face turned
away from me I canât know for sure.
âHe was with Eliza in the park, he was safe!â I try to defend myself.
âAnd where were you?â She stands up and comes over to me poking. me in the chest with her finger,
Iâve never seen her this angry before. âInstead of watching our son you were doing what exactly?
Drinking yourself to death? Balls deep in your new Lunaâ?â I grab her by the tops. of her arms and drag
close to me so we are nose to nose.
âYou donât speak to me like this.â I say between clenched teeth, âI know youâre hurting right now but
donât forget your place little wolf.â
âI donât have a place anymore and whose fault is that?â She spits back at me, âI canât wait until
Jefferson is found, maybe then my son will be safe.â
âYou arenât taking my son An na!â I say letting her go quickly, I donât know who this woman is but itâs not
my sweet little Anna. âThis was an accident, an awful accident.â
âAnd youâre blind.â She points to Thomas, âif you think this was an accident then you are as blind as
you are stu pid.â
âWhat the hell happened to you?â I ask her confused, I donât recognise the woman standing in front of
me.
âYou, you happened.â She says going back to Thom a sâs bedside. âIâd like to be alone with my son
Alpha.â She spits the word Alpha out like it leaves a bad taste in her mouth.
âPatrick will be in the hall, donât do anything stu pid Anna.â I say as I head for the door to give her some
alone time with Thomas.
âYou do enough of that for the both of us.â She whispers as I leave the
room.
âI will be back soon,â I tell Patrick as I close the door to Thoma sâs room. âShe doesnât leave this room.â
Patrick nods at me as I turn my attention to Mac.
âYou. Come with me.â I say pointing at him.
âIâm good here, thanks though.â This pis ses me off so I nod at James who grabs Mac by his upper arm
and drags him out of the chair.
âIt wasnât a request,â I say as James drags Mac down the hall following me into an empty room. Once
we are all inside I close the door and lock it.
âLong time no see Mac.â I say with a smile.
âYouâre Beta has a tight grip,â he says as he rubs the top of his arm.
âIâm missing something.â James says look between me and Mac.
âThis is Mac, heâs Darrylâs second head warrior.â The Grey Pack is almost double the size of mine so
he has the need for more warriors. and itâs too much work for one Head Warrior.
âYou knew he was coming?â I shake my head no as James asks this.
âNo but I knew he was with Anna sometimes. How did you come to be here?â I ask Mac.
âI just got out of the shower when Rick called, she was a mess. There was no way I was letting her
drive in that condition.â Mac explains as I feel the hairs on the back of my neck go on end.
âYou are meant to be looking out for her not showering in her home.â The thought of this man being
n*ked in her home has me seeing red.
âSo I shouldnât be sleeping in her spare bedroom?â I swing my fist and it connects with his fist with a
satisfying sound, he doesnât make a move to defend himself. He just rubs at his now red jaw.
âWhy the hell are you sleeping in her house?â That wasnât part of the plan when Darryl filled me in.
âBecause itâs almost winter and even in fur itâs blo ody cold outside. The rogues have already caught
her scent, I had to kill two of them last night.â Mac tells me as he perches himself on the empty bed.
âS hit, I knew it was coming but I figured Iâd have more time. The bodies?â I know he would have
disposed of them properly but I still have to ask.

âOne grave, unmarked. There will be more and I canât guarantee she wonât see them. Last night I was
lucky, she was in the bath when I scented them.â I nod at him.
âHer training?â I ask him.
âItâs harder than you think to train an Omega. They fight differently to us, itâs more men tal than it is
physical and Anna is starting to reject her wolf.â I close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose at
this.
âYouâre meant to be helping with that, giving her another wolf to be around so she can scratch her
Omega legs.â I tell him before opening my eyes to see James just leaning against the wall watching us.
Iâm sure heâs bursting with questions but he wont demand answers until we are alone.
âEasier said than done, she was already pushing her down when I got there.â Mac explains, âsheâs
working in a human diner, she couldnât be further from wolves if she tried.â
âIâm giving her money.â I whisper, âwhy is she working?â I look over at James, âcheck the accounts. See
what sheâs spent.â James just nods and leaves the room.
âFrom the stuff in the house she hasnât touched any money you have given her.â Mac tells me once
James is gone.
âSheâs too dam n prideful and now sheâs hurting. You need to keep an eye on her. She will try to
withdraw further in on herself, donât let her.â I tell Mac, Iâve seen Anna go through this kind of
depression before so I know the signs. âGet her some chocolate cake and she will start talking. Actually
while sheâs here go to the bakery and pick up some from there, just tell them itâs for me and they will
know which one you need.â Iâm not worried about poison, after the incident last time the bakery owner
got rid of all her produce and I paid for them to

be replaced.
âAnd if I see your little Luna?â He asks me standing from the bed.
âJust ignore her.â I say, waving my hand.
âYou know you smell like her right? Might be why Anna just went off the deep end.â I sniff at myself only
smelling me and hint of Anna. âRookie mistake no changing the bedsheets after the deed.â
I sit down on a chair once heâs gone and just enjoy the silence of the cold dark room. I didnât even
consider the bed sheets, they still smell like Anna so I donât want to get rid of them. I thought her anger
was all motherly rage but itâs probably part jealousy in smelling Faye on me. I feel my phone vibrate in
my pocket and pull it out to see Fayeâs name, with a roar I launch the phone at the wall and take
pleasure in seeing it smash to pieces. Iâm so done with this female ruining everything, what if Anna was
right and Thoma sâs accident wasnât an accident and Faye had something to do with it. I scrub my
hands over my face, thereâs no way a woman would stoop as low as to hurt a child for a man right?
âYeah because Faye is completely sane.â Leo snarls in my head.
