‘Are you a woman?’

‘I am.’

Years ago, in that dark room, a man asked her the same questions in the same annoyed tone.

CEO Qin was like that man. Could it be…?

“I’m coming to pick you up now. I’ll be there in about fifteen minutes!”

He hung up simply after saying that.

Lin Xiangwan put away her phone and hurried downstairs, waiting for him at the front gate.

He did not get out of the car, but casually lowered the window and asked like an old friend. “Have you been waiting long?”

“Okay, get in!”

Out of courtesy, she sat in the passenger seat.

A sudden whiff of nicotine smoke entered her nose.

“Not used to it?” Qin Muchuan asked. But he had no intention of putting out his cigarette. It was still elegantly held between his fingers, emitting smoke.

Lin Xiangwan waved her hand. “No, I actually like the smell.”

Qin Muchuan glanced at her and nearly chuckled. “You do seem suited for public relations!”

Sitting next to him, Lin Xiangwan was extremely nervous, unable to discern what he meant. “CEO Qin, are you praising me?”

He spoke with a faint smirk, but… public relations? Was it a compliment or a veiled insult?

Qin Muchuan laughed. “Of course it’s a compliment. Any company needs excellent public relations personnel. It’s a crucial role!”

“Ha-ha…” Relieved, she lightly patted her chest and let out a laugh. “I thought you were calling me… frivolous!”

“Not at all!” Qin Muchuan laughed. “Unless I’m really shallow!”

His joyful laughter lightened the mood in the tight space.

Lin Xiangwan felt her breathing even out, and her clenched fists gradually relaxed.

“What do you like to eat?” Qin Muchuan asked as they entered the expressway.

“Anything works. We’re here for drinks, right?”

Qin Muchuan raised his eyebrow. “Quite confident, aren’t we?”

“Your confidence has sparked my interest. Let’s see how much you can drink!” After saying that, Qin Muchuan sped up and the car rapidly cut through the traffic.

Qin Muchuan took Lin Xiangwan to a private restaurant in a villa located in the mountains.

There were many luxury cars parked in the villa’s yard. Lin Xiangwan casually estimated that the cheapest car was worth more than four million.

The scenery here was gorgeous, the vegetation lush, and the air so much fresher with the tall trees acting as a natural barrier-

The villa had eight large buildings that sported a classic look.

The moment they got out of the car, a staff greeted them. “CEO Qin, your room is ready. Please, this way!”

The waitstaff was familiar with Qin Muchuan, clearly showing he came here frequently.

As an employee of a hotel, Lin Xiangwan knew about this villa. The prices here were jaw-dropping.

Even for an experienced professional like herself, she felt dazed being here, as if she was treading on cotton and was in a state of flux.

Following the staff’s lead, she entered a private room.

The room was decorated with bamboo and wood, with landscape paintings hanging on the walls.

The room was big enough to accommodate a party of twenty to thirty people. On the sunny side, there was a large glass window overlooking a patio made of bamboo and wood.

Peering out, she saw a lake beautifully illuminated with lights.

“Do you like it here?” Wearing a coat from a well-known international brand, he looked even taller and more handsome.

Turning her head to look at him, Lin Xiangwan gasped.

Staring blankly at his jaw-dropping handsomeness.

He never mentioned being married.

Qin Muchuan smiled again. “My daughter just turned six. She’s a very beautiful and intelligent child!”
