Chapter 24
Alpha Of Aberdeen
Malachi picks me up and carries me to the car, telling Paul to drive. Once we are in the car, I feel
cramping again. "Did your water break?" Malachi asks. I give him a look that could kill. âNO! Don't
you think your lap would be wet?" I snap, then I feel bad and grab his hand. "I'm sorry I didn't mean
to be mean," I say, apologizing. "Luna, don't be sorry. I know you didn't mean for it to sound that
way." He tells me. I give him a slight smile as a contraction comes through again. "HOLY HELL!" I
scream. Malachi looks to Paul in the rearview. "Come on, Paul, go faster,â He demands. Paul speeds
up.
We pull in, and Malachi carries me in." "My wife is having a baby; please help!" He says frantically. I
look up at him and smile. "Did you just call me your wife?" I ask. He looks at me and grins. The
nurse brings a wheelchair and tells me to sit. I feel foolish in a freaking wheelchair. "Um... I can walk
or have my big scary man back there carry me," I say, laughing. The nurse laughs too.
"It's hospital protocol, you have to be in a wheelchair if you have a contraction.â She explains, âBut I
would let him carry instead me too," she says, batting her eyes. I give her a look like bitch I will
knock you the fuck out being pregnant and all. "You do realize I'm pregnant with that man's child,
right? Like he's not just my bodyguard or something! Why do all these girls think it's okay to tell me
how hot my freaking man is?" I say aggressively. "I'm sorry, Miss. It's just it's hard not to notice
how..." I cut her off. "Zip it, lady!!!" I snap and she shuts up really quick.
We reach the room, and the nurse leaves me with my wolfman, and I glare at him. "What?" He
shrugs. I roll my eyes, looking away. "Oh, come on Luna, you know I only want you" He smiles. "I
know, but I'm fat now," I say with a frown. "Hell no, Luna! You are the sexiest woman ever; even
pregnant you are still just as sexy. Do you not remember what you did to me in the officeâ He
smirks, making me laugh.
"I love you, crazy wolf," I say, then I realize that the pain has stopped. "Hey, the pain has stopped,â I
tell Malachi. He looks at me, bewildered. "So, the baby isn't coming?" He asks, a little disappointed.
"I don't think so," I mutter. We look at each other dumbfounded.
"Hello, Miss Anderson,â Dr. Bloom says. "Hi, I think it was a false alarm, Doctor," I tell him. "Yeah, if
your water hasn't broken and you are not having contractions, it's just your body getting ready for
birth. They can be very similar pains,â Dr. Bloom explains. "Okay yeah, I feel fine now. This is so
embarrassing,â I say, putting my face in my hand. "It is normal we have so many that come in for
Braxton hicks." Dr. Bloom says. "You are safe to go home. If the pains come back again and don't go
away, come back," He says. "Thank you!" I tell him and Malachi helps me up. We head back to
Amelia and Paul in the waiting area.
While we are heading home my phone rings. I slide it to answer. "Hello?" I say. "Aunt Chloe! How
are you doing?" Kali asks. "I'm well ready to have this baby," I tell her. She laughs. "I felt that way at
the end too. Once you have her, you will feel so much better, plus you have your baby in your arms,
and with the way her mama and daddy look, she is going to be so gorgeous.â Kali says with a smile
in her voice. âAww, Kali, that's so sweet,â I reply. "When are you going to bring Colette to see me?" I
ask. "Hopefully soon," she says. "I can't wait to hold her,â I tell Kali. "I know I can't wait for her to
meet you too," Kali declares. "Well, I'll let you go, talk soon," Kali says. "Okay, Kali, love you!" We
hang up.
Malachi looks at me with sincere eyes, and grabs my hand, kissing the back of it. "I know you miss
your family,â He declares as we pull into the packhouse. I get out of the car with Malachi helping
and we walk inside. I go towards the living area where my whole family Kali, Marley, Kaden, Claire,
and Ben Jump from behind the double doors. "SURPRISE!!!" They all yell. I fall back from being
scared, but Malachi's strong arms catch me. "Oh my gosh, Chloe!" Marley shouts. "I'm okay,â I laugh
and run to hug them all.
"Oh Chloe, you are glowing. You look so beautiful pregnant,â Marley says with tears falling from her
eyes. She has always been sentimental. âMarley, don't cry because you will make me cry, then I'll be
a mess.â I laugh. "I can't help it. I've waited so long to be an aunt, and now it's happeningâ Marley
smiles. "What made you guys decide to come?" I ask, still in shock. "Malachi called us, and he flew
us all out here for your baby shower tomorrow,â Marley explains happily.
I turn and face Malachi with tears falling from my eyes. "You brought my family here for me?" I ask,
sniffling. "You deserve to have them here," He responds, and I can't help but run into his arms. He
lifts me and hugs me tight. "I love you, Malachi Jacobson!" I tell him, looking deep into his eyes. "I
love you too, Chloe, soon to be Jacobson,â He smiles. The world falls away as I'm overwhelmed with
my love for this man. I grab his chin, pressing my lips on his.
"Um, Aunt Chloe? We are still here," Kali laughs, grabbing my attention. I turn to see her holding
Colette and my face lights up at the sight of her. Malachi carefully lets me down so I can go to Kali.
"Omg, she is so beautiful! can I hold her, please?" I ask, holding my hands out. Kali hands her over
to me and I am mesmerized by how perfect she is. "Hi, precious. I've been waiting so long to meet
you," I whisper to Colette. She grips my finger and a small smile forms on her lips but i'm not sure if
it is not just gas. I giggle to myself and see Malachi watching me and notice he can't seem to take
his eyes off me, as if he's in a trance.
"You're going to make the best mother, Luna,â Malachi says softly, but loud enough for all to hear.
Marley looks at me and smiles. "Um... Chloe, how did you find this man?" She asks, then sheepishly
looks at Ben. "Sorry, honey. He's easy on the eyes that's for sure.â Marley admits. Ben looks at
Malachi from top to bottom, as if heâs contemplating his chances of winning a fight. "I'm not going
to fight that man for you looking at him; he looks like he could rip me to pieces,â Ben says,
laughing, and making everyone crack up.
We are all sitting in the living area, and like always, I'm on Malachi's lap. We are all busy telling
stories about the old times, while the kids play on the floor with their toys and Kali feeds the baby.
"You remember that time dad got so mad because you snuck out to see that guy named Markâ I
laugh at the memory. "OMG! I was grounded forever,â Marley says, laughing. Then the doorbell
rings, breaking through the laughter. Malachi tries to get up to answer, but I place my hand on his
chest to stop him.
"Sit, I'll get it, my wolfman,â I grin. "Why do you call him wolfman?" Marley asks, and I freeze for a
second. "It's a joke between us,â I laugh, hoping she accepts my lie. Marley just shrugs, going back
to the conversation at hand and I release the breath I was holding.
While I walk to the door, I open it to find a slim woman in her early 50's with black hair and dark
eyes. "Hello, can I help you?" I say curiously. I don't remember seeing anyone who looked like her
around here before. "Yes, I'm looking for Malachi,â She states, trying to peek around me into the
house. "Um... Who are you?" I question, crossing my arms over my chest and moving to block her
view.
"I'm his mother"...
