Chapter 25

Alpha Of Aberdeen

I can't help but look at this woman dumbfounded. How many more family members are going to

randomly pop up? "Come in. Malachi's this way," I inform her, and she follows me to the living area.

Malachi looks up to see who is behind me, and his smile fades. "Why are you here?" He snarls,

sending his mother a threatening glare. “I've come to see for myself that my son is having a baby,”

she says in a monotonous tone. "Well, you have seen, so you can leave now," Malachi retorts,

standing and walking toward us. “What? You don't want your mother ruining the party?” She laughs.

"LEAVE NOW!" Malachi shouts in his Alpha tone and his mother steps back. When I look at her I can

see the fear in her eyes. She walks back slowly to the door and as she opens it to leave, she turns

around with an evil glint in her eyes. "Oh, I know about Alaric by the way. This won't be that last you

see of me,” She promises, sending a glare my way as she walks out.

I walk past Malachi and head for the stairs, needing some space. I can feel he's not far behind me. I

make it to the hall when he grabs my arm to stop me, spinning me around to face him. "So, when

were you going to tell me about your family Malachi or are you just going to bring each one up as

they try to kill me?" I snap, glaring into his eyes. "I'm sorry, Luna. I never thought she would show

up. She's never cared about me before.” He claims and the hurt on his face made me want to grab

him and hold him tight.

"Why do you think she’s never cared about you?" I ask, taking his hand in mine. "She left with Alaric

when I was only two years old to be with an Alpha from another pack because my father wouldn't

change her." He vaguely explains. "Your mother is a human?" I say, covering my mouth in surprise.

“No,

she was human. She was changed once she entered the other pack.” He explains. "So, your father

doesn't like humans because of your mother?" I ask, attempting to put the pieces together. "Yeah,

she was my father's mate, but she chose to leave him knowing he would never be able to find love

again.” He tells me sadly.

I wrap my arms around Malachi, embracing him with the hope all his worries would disappear, and

he holds me just as tight. "It's ok. I've gotten past it and chose to keep Evadean out of my life," He

strongly declares. "So, you don't even call her mother?” I ask, noticing he called her by name. "She

doesn't deserve the title of mother.” He spat as his eyes began to swirl with anger. I choose not to

question him anymore; I can see it is not something he wants to talk about, instead we walk silently,

hand and hand, to our room.

I wake up early and head to the kitchen for coffee, leaving Malachi sleeping like a baby. On my way,

I spot Kali walking out of her room with Colette in her arms. "Morning, Kali!" I smile, greeting her.

"Good morning Aunt Chloe," She says, yawning. "Did you get any sleep?” I ask, noticing the bags

under her eyes. "Colette was up most of the night,” Kali states. "Oh, Kali, let me take her, and you go

back to sleep for a bit," I tell her, grabbing Colette from her. "Are you sure?" Kali asks, glancing

between Colette and me. "Of course, I would love nothing more than to spend some time with this

cutie.” I tell Kali. "Thank you, Aunt Chloe!” She says with a bright smile. "Go rest," I tell her, waving

her back to her room. She laughs slightly and walks back into her room.

I make a bottle for Colette and go out to the front porch and sit in a rocking chair with her nestled

in my arms. She stares at me while drinking her bottle and I can't help but look over her every

feature. "You're so beautiful, Colette. You look just like your mama,” I say as if she can understand

me. Then suddenly, I feel a kick in my belly. "Oh, Paisley. Don't be jealous. Mommy loves you too.

Your daddy and I can't wait to meet you," I coo, rubbing my stomach.

Malachi's POV

I wake up to find Chloe is gone. I search the room in a panic, thinking about my mother and what

she could have planned, so I rush to the door, only wearing my sweatpants. As I'm running down

the stairs, I see Marley sitting on the couch. She looks up to me with wide eyes and parted lips.

“Maybe I should have put on a shirt." I think, clearing my throat awkwardly. "Um... Good morning

Malachi," Marley says, not looking at my face, but I can see her cheeks are a light shade of pink.

"Where is Chloe?" I ask eagerly, getting back to business. Marley shakes her head as if to clear

whatever thoughts she was having and points to the door. "She is on the front porch with Colette.”

She replies. I don't say anymore and rush to the door.

I open it to find Chloe talking to our baby while holding Colette peacefully in her arms. I never

thought she could be any sexier, but I was dead wrong; motherhood looks so damn good on my

Luna. “Good morning, my beautiful girls,” I whisper, seeing Colette fell asleep. Chloe turns to see me

leaning against the wall and smiles. "Hey there, sexy Alpha. Where is your shirt? Don't tell me you

walked in front of my sister like that?" she says, raising a brow. "Yeah, sorry. I was worried when I

woke up, and you were gone,” I told her. She rolls her eyes and tries to stand but holding a baby

and carrying one makes it hard. I take Colette and help Chloe stand. "Aww, look at the big bad wolf

holding a baby. You're not so badass, now are you?" she teases with a laugh. I give her a smirk.

"Let's go get ready for the shower," I tell her, wishing I could smack her ass and show her how

badass I could be, but instead I follow her inside. That would have to wait.

Chloe POV

Sitting at my vanity, I put on my mascara and pull my hair to one side, curling it in spirals. As my

curls fall, they cover my belly. Once finished, I walk to the closet to find something to wear. I decide

on a cute white sundress with white flats. After I'm dressed, I stand to walk out, when Malachi comes

through the door. He stops in his tracks and stares at me. "Oh, wow! Luna, you look incredible!” He

says, never breaking his gaze. "Thank you, Wolfman,” I laugh while I seductively walk up to Malachi

and grab his tush, pulling him to me. "Let's cancel the party, and have a shower of our own,” I say,

playing with his collar.

Malachi tenses under my touch, meeting my hungry gaze with his own. "Luna, you are asking for it,"

He whispers. I bring my hand up and twirl circles on his chest with my finger, causing him to shiver.

Malachi grabs the nape of my neck, finally pulling me to his lips, but as soon as our lips lock, the

door swings open, hitting Malachi in the back. "What are you guys doing? The shower is about to

start.” Amelia declares. "OMG Amelia, when are you going to learn to knock?" I ask, glaring at her.

"Hey, you know me. I have no boundaries and you will just have to accept me as I am" She retorts

with a laugh and I can only shake my head. "We're coming," I say, grabbing Malachi's hand and

pulling him out the door.

All the guests have arrived, and I'm helping Amelia and Marley in the kitchen with the snacks.

Everyone has gathered outside, so we take the food out and put it on the tables. "Chloe?" A voice

says behind me, I turn to face them and there stands Malachi's father. "Yes," I reply, giving him a

look of confusion. “I know the last time I saw you, I was a complete ass, and I would like to

apologize for my behavior. I let my feelings take over before I even gave you a chance and I'm sorry.

I would love to have the chance to be in my granddaughters life.” He apologized and I can see in

his eyes that he means it. "I forgive you. I would love for you to be a part of Paisley’s life," I tell

Cypress with a smile. We hug and get back to talking with the other guests

I walk to the cupcake table and find Marley staring over the desserts. "So, you come here often?" I

joke, making Marley laugh and gently punch my arm. Then I see a different look take over her

features, as if she's seeing me in a new light. "I'm so proud of you, Chloe," She says, smiling while

placing her hand on my forearm. "Aw, Marley. I love you,” I tell her, but then Marley's eyes go wide

with horror, fixated on something behind me.

I turn, following her gaze and see a large black wolf standing at the edge of the yard. The guests

gasp in surprise, but the wolf has his eyes locked on me. He crouches to rush at me, so I push

Marley out of the way, knocking her to the ground. Then, it was like everything was happening in

slow motion. I couldn't even let out a scream before the wolf pounced on me, knocking me to the

ground and it's standing over me with his teeth bared. "MALACHI!!!"...
