Chapter 31
Alpha Of Aberdeen
It's the day of the full moon, and the ceremony is tonight. I'm feeling so nervous that I didn't get
any sleep. I roll over to find Malachi sleeping like a baby. âMust be niceâ I think with a scowl, then I
stand slowly, not wanting to wake him as a mischievous thought plays in my mind. I head for the
bathroom and grab his shaving cream, then tiptoe back to the bed where Malachi is now snoring
like a baby. I sigh while rolling my eyes, but smirk when I see his hand lies in the perfect position.
I spray some shaving cream in his hand, hoping he doesn't wake up from the noise. I freeze when
Malachi moves a little but doesn't wake, so I take the end of my braid and tickle his nose a few
times. He scrunches his nose, like he wants to sneeze. I tickle him again and bam the shaving cream
splatters all over his face. âYesâ I giggle, covering my mouth while falling backward from laughing so
hard.
"LUNA!" Malachi growls, getting up from the bed so fast. I stand up, trying to run out the door, but
Malachi catches me and lifts me from behind, making me laugh again. He walks towards the
mattress, tossing me on it and presses his toned body against mine, holding himself over me with
his arms making his muscles bulge. I watch him take one hand to wipe off the shaving cream and
smear it all over my face. I gasp in shock and narrow my eyes. "HEY!" I laugh, wiping all the shaving
cream from my face and rubbing it all over his chest.
The softness of his skin and the feeling of my touch hold my attention as I eye his abs, like it was the
first time I have ever seen them. "Like what you see?" Malachi grins wolfishly. "Maybe, but you will
never know for sure,â I giggle. When I pull his lips to mine, the door swings open, and I look around
Malachi's broad shoulder to see Amelia, the no privacy investigator standing in the doorway.
Malachi turns his head and sighs. "Amelia, why am I not surprised it's you?" I say, giving her a stern
look. "What the hell is all over your faces?" She questions, eyeing us both. "I pranked Mr. Alpha
here," I giggle, looking back to Malachi. He only glares, then presses a kiss to my lips and proceeds
to get off me.
"Amelia, you know that you are the biggest cock block of this century,â I tell her, lifting a brow. She
laughs, walking to sit on the bed with me. "I came to see how you're feeling today?" she defends
innocently. "I don't know how I feel. I'm nervous, but I guess I'm scared it won't work," I say, biting
my nails. "It will work, Chloe. Don't think about those things. Once you are bitten, and the moon is
at its highest, the change will begin,â Amelia explains. "What does it feel like to shift?" I ask with a
worried look. "It hurts, but you get used to it. Malachi will shift with you, and you will run together
until your wolf comes forth. Once you hear her voice in your head, you will be one," Amelia says like
she is telling a fairytale.
I hug her tight as I think over her words. "Thank you, Amelia. I better get Paisley ready, then get
myself ready,â I mumble, Amelia stands with a small smile. "Everything will be fine Chloe. Love you!"
She reassures me, then walks out the door, closing it behind her.
I open the door to Paisley's room and see Paisley awake, looking at the spinning mobile above her
bed. "Good morning, baby girl," I say sweetly. She looks up at me as if she is trying to focus on my
blurry face with her baby eyes. I giggle at her efforts. It's so cute. I pick her up and take her to the
changing table. I get Paisley into her outfit for the day, and walk out of the room, holding her in my
arms. I walk down the stairs and head for the kitchen, turning the corner to see Cypress at the table,
eating some cereal. "Good morning!" I say, smiling. He looks up from his newspaper. "Hey Chloe,
how are you feeling about today?" He questions, not trying to make me feel uncomfortable. "I'm
only thinking about the future for our family,â I tell Cypress patting Paisleyâs bottom to help her fall
back asleep.
"Chloe, it's okay to be nervous you are about to be changed into a wolf" He declares, standing to
walk to us. âI know, but it's the only way for me to stay with my family. My choice in the matter is
gone,â I tell him with no emotion as I look at Paisley. She fell asleep with her face nuzzled in my
neck. "Chloe, you will make an amazing Luna to the pack. Your strength as a human is impeccable,
and as a wolf, it will be even more prominent.â He says with a proud look on his face. "Thank you,
Cypress, that means a lot, and I wanted to tell you it means so much that you want to be in Paisley's
life.â I tell him.
Cypress clears his throat, like he is trying to rid the lump forming in his throat. "Um, I have a
meeting in a few minutes, so I should go. I'll see you tonight," He says, trying to avoid letting his
feelings out on the table. I nod, and he walks to the front door disappearing.
I put Paisley in her swing and head to get dressed for the ceremony. I go for the closet to see my
options. I walk along the closet wall dragging my fingers across all the clothes stopping on a tan
dress. I take it off the hanger and pick out some black heels then slip the dress on, including the red
bottom stilettos. I look myself up and down in the mirror, pressing my dress down along my body.
After having Paisley, I feel like my curves have gotten more luminous.
I take a seat at my vanity, brushing through my brown hair. âWould my wolf have the same color fur
as my hair, and would she have my green eyes?" I wonder as I continue getting ready by putting red
lipstick and my mascara on, leaving my hair to fall down my back with my natural waves. I put on a
bracelet my mother gave me when I was ten. It's rose gold with a small moon and star that dangles
from the chain. âHow ironic, since I'm about to be a werewolf." I think as I admire it. I never got a
chance to wear it when I was a kid because it was so big for my wrist, but now it fits perfectly, and
for some reason, I feel calm like my mother is with me in some way.
I stand looking over myself one last time before my life is changed forever. I want to remember
myself before it all happened. I run my hands over my dress to press it, then head for the door. As I
walk through the hall, I run into a blonde woman, "Oh, I'm sorry,â I say, looking at the woman.
âWhere do I know this woman from?â I wonder, wracking my brain for a name. The woman only
glares at me and continues walking past me. I don't give it much more thought and continue my
way down the stairs.
I make it to the end of the stairs and see Malachi talking with some pack members. "Hello," I greet
them with a friendly smile, holding my hand out to introduce myself. "I'm Chloe," I say, making eye
contact with each member. They all shake my hand, giving me a slight smile. "I'm glad you could
make it for tonight's ceremony,â I say gratefully. "Yes, thank you for coming even though the last
event we had turned out poorly,â Malachi says, chuckling. I glare at him putting my hand on my hip.
He feels my stare and turns to me. "What?" He asks, lifting an eyebrow. "If you donât remember, I
died at the last event,â I retorted, looking to the others. "If you'll excuse me. Enjoy your night," I say,
not looking at Malachi as I walk away.
