Chapter 41

Alpha Of Aberdeen

I come around the corner, running for the kitchen, not sure what to expect. I don't see anyone when

I enter, but I find Amelia on the floor when I come around the island. I rush to her side and kneel

beside her. "Oh my god, what happened?" I ask with an urgency in my voice, helping her sit up. "My

water broke, and I slipped and fell,” Amelia explains with heavy breaths. "Malachi, call an ambulance

now!" I shout, and he pulls out his phone to dial. "Call Paul too," I tell him once he is off the phone

with 911. "Paul is on his way, he said he would meet us at the hospital,” Malachi says, coming to

help me lift Amelia to her feet. Malachi lifts her and carries her to the front door as we hear the

sirens.

The ambulance pulls into the circular driveway and parks in front of the house. The paramedics step

out quickly, coming to Amelia's aid. "How far apart are her contractions?" The paramedic asks,

bringing his gaze to me, and his face goes white. "Um...wait. What are you doing here?" He stutters

like he saw a ghost, which he has. “I'm sorry. What do you mean? I live here," I state, pretending as if

I've never seen him before. "You... you died," He stammers, darting his eyes around to everyone.

"You must have me confused with my twin sister. She passed away during childbirth,” I lie, hoping

he buys it. "Oh, I'm so sorry." He laughs nervously then clears his throat "I'm sorry that was not

funny about your sister. I just thought I was going crazy," He explains.

"It's fine. Can we please get my friend to the hospital now?" I suggest eagerly. "Yes, I'm sorry. Would

you like to ride with her?" He asks, pointing at Malachi, who raises his eyebrows in surprise. "Me?

I'm not the father," He says, putting Amelia down on the stretcher. "I will go with her. She is my best

friend” I declare, stepping into the ambulance without letting the paramedic say another word.

"Malachi, get Paisley and meet us at the hospital. I love you," I say, blowing him a kiss as they shut

the ambulance doors. I turn my focus to Amelia. "Chloe, I'm scared," She tells me, grabbing my hand

as she has another contraction "AAAAHHHH!" Amelia screams in pain, squeezing my hand. "Take a

deep breath. You got this," I tell her, taking a deep breath along with her.

Amelia keeps her focus on me the whole ride to the hospital. We pull into the emergency entrance

and the paramedics open the doors, wheeling Amelia out. I follow beside her, still holding her hand

when Paul rushes over to us from the parking lot. "AMELIA!" He shouts, coming to her side. "I will

be right here, Amelia," I shout as they take her away from me. Paul stays at her side, and they

disappear behind some double doors that close automatically. I take a seat in the waiting area,

pulling out my phone, as I'm about to dial Marley to tell her the news, but I stop when Malachi

walks through the doors of the emergency room with Paisley in his arms. “Damn, he looks so sexy

holding our daughter,’ I think to myself, biting my lip.

Malachi walks over and takes a seat next to me. Paisley looks so tiny in his arms. He looks over at

me with a raised brow. "What?" He asks. "Oh, nothing. You're just so adorable for being a big scary

wolf," I tease, throwing my head back, laughing. Malachi just glares at me. 'I definitely can't let him

know how hard I was checking him out,’ I scold myself. The man doesn't need a bigger ego boost.

During our banter, an older woman walks up to us. "Excuse me for bothering you, but I just wanted

to say you two make a beautiful couple. You remind me of my husband and me when we were your

age" She beams speaking of him. "Aww... Thank you!" I tell her, giving her a warm smile. "Of course,

my husband did not look like that, but he sure was something special. He made me feel every ounce

of love each day" She grins, looking at Paisley in Malachi's arms. "Yeah, I've heard a few times this

guy over here is a looker," I tell her, using my thumb to point at Malachi. His face turns red, and he

looks away from us.

The older woman snickers seeing Malachi getting embarrassed. "You have a beautiful family, cherish

it while you can,” She says, touching Paisley's cheek softly. I give her a sweet smile and the woman

walks away, using her walker, without another word. Malachi and I look at each other, and I shrug,

laying my head on Malachi's shoulder.

We waited for several hours, and I felt myself getting sleepy, so I went to get Malachi and I a coffee

from the cafeteria. Once I'm back, I hand him the cup and take Paisley from him so that I can feed

her. Malachi hands me a bottle he mixed, giving it to Paisley and she drinks the whole bottle. I bring

her to my shoulder and she burps, then falls asleep in my arms. I finally pulled out my phone to text

Marley.

Me: "Hey, Sister! Amelia is having the baby." Marley takes a couple of minutes to text back.

Marley: "OMG!! Make sure to send me pictures. How is Paisley?"

Me: "I will, for sure! Paisley is growing; she is sleeping in my arms now, sucking her thumb."

Marley: "Aww... I miss her. So, when is the wedding?"

Me: "We will have it soon, not sure on an exact date.”

Marley: "Okay, make sure to send invites, lol.”

Me: "Of course, silly. It may be an invite by phone lol, how are the kids?"

Marley: "haha, okay. They are good. Kali is graduating early and will attend NYU."

Me: "OMG! that is so exciting I'm so proud of her"

Marley: "I know me too. Colette started babbling and trying to crawl.”

Me: "Aww... I can't wait to see her again.”

Me: "Well, tell the kids I love them, and I'll talk to you soon."

Marley: "Okay, love you."

My parents cross my mind, but I don't think I should tell Marley about mom and dad at this

moment. I should really tell her in person

I'm pulled out of my thoughts to Malachi's hand touching my forearm. I look at him to find him

pointing towards the doors where they took Amelia and find Paul standing there. Paul has this smile

on his face so wide that he looks like the cat from Alice in wonderland. I stand handing Paisley to

Malachi and run up to him. "Is the baby here?" I question with excitement on my face. Malachi

comes up and stands behind me, holding Paisley in one arm and wrapping the other around my

waist.

"Yes, he is here, and Amelia wants to see you," Paul says, holding the door open to let us through.

Once we are in the hall, Paul walks in front, and we follow. He comes to a door not too far from the

entrance and stops. "Amelia wants to see you alone first," Paul says, looking at Malachi to tell him to

follow, and they head off to the father's waiting room. I watch them walk away and look back at the

door.

I turn the knob slowly, walking through the door to see Amelia holding her baby, nestling him in her

chest. "Amelia," I whisper, trying not to startle the baby. "Chloe come in, have a seat,” She says,

patting the bed next to her. I sit down and look in her arms to see a rosy red baby boy with blonde

hair and blue eyes, just like his dad. "Oh, Amelia, he is so precious,” I gush, touching his soft

newborn hair. Amelia's eyes sparkle with such love. "We did it, Chloe. We both have beautiful

families.” She beams and I smile, laying down next to her and putting my head on her shoulder.

As I'm looking down at her baby, the door opens to reveal Cordelia. "Hey, mom,” Amelia calls out. I

sit up, moving off the bed to greet Cordelia. "Chloe, you look amazing,” Cordelia says, pulling me

into a hug. "Motherhood looks great on you both," She says, looking from me to Amelia. I wrap my

arm around Cordelia, walking her to see her grandson. She beams at the sight picking him up and

taking him, with her to a nearby chair. I lay back down, cuddling into Amelia. "I'm so proud of you," I

tell her, looking up at her with a smile. Amelia brushes her fingers through my hair. "I love you,

Chloe,” Amelia says, wrapping her arms around me squeezing tightly.

We both stare at Cordelia, and the cuteness shared between the baby and her. The door opens

again, and Paul and Malachi walk in. Everyone looks at them. Paul walks to the other side of Amelia,

standing over her while pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Chloe, are you making moves on my wife?"

Paul asks with a smirk. "She was my wife first," I say playfully, letting out a laugh, and so does

everyone else.

Malachi comes to the bed on the side where I am. "Hey, what about me? Malachi asks, looking at

me with a pouty face. "Oh, don't worry, wolfman. I only have my eyes on you," I tease, looking up at

him. Malachi grins, taking the seat near me. Cordelia comes back over to us, handing the baby to

Paul. "So, what did you name him?" I ask curiously. Paul and Amelia both look at me, "We named

him Asher.” Amelia declares grinning. "Oh my, I love it," I say, hugging Amelia. Malachi looks at me

and grins.

"Chloe, could you grab that water over there for me?" Amelia points it out. I stand to get the cup of

water for Amelia. I pick it up and walk back to her, handing her the cup. Cordelia comes to me.

"Chloe, do you have a second to talk?" She asks. "Sure, let's go in the hall" I suggest, leaning into

her as we walk, and she wraps her arm around me. Cordelia and I step in the hall closing the door.

"Chloe, I just wanted to tell you that your parents would be so proud of you,” She declares and all

this stuff with my parents comes back to me, taking me out of the happy moment. It's finally my

chance to find out more.

"Cordelia, I know about my parents,” I tell her, and she gives me a bewildered look. "What do you

mean, sweetie?" she asks, acting like she is unsure of my comment. "I know my parents are alive,

and you knew this the whole time," I state, staring at her as I wait for a response. She only looks at

me, stunned. "Chloe, I'm sorry I made a promise to your mother that I would keep you safe and

never tell you the truth. We never expected you to fall in love with the Alpha. We thought you would

live your life normally and not get involved into our magical world, but the moon goddess had

other plans for you," Cordelia explains with a sorry expression.

"I'm not mad, Cordelia I just want some answers as to why? What happened?” I ask her. "Okay, I will

tell you everything I know. Cypress was mated with Evadean but did not truly love her. He was in

love with your mother, but Colette loved Benjamin with all her heart. Cypress got jealous and asked

a witch named Sukie to help him with a love potion, but Sukie fell for Cypress. Instead of doing the

love potion, she stole some of Cypress’s hair to make a potion to turn your mother and father into

wolves that are unable to shift back into human form." Cordelia explains and I can only stare at her

with my mouth open wide.

"My mother told me Cypress is bad. If he is not the one who helped with the spell, then why is she

so angry with him and why did Malachi tell me that his father was so in love with his mother?" I ask,

confused. "I think she is still mad with him for going to Sukie in the first place. She was Colette's

best friend, and I believe Malachi knows nothing of the truth, the same as you." Cordelia explains

with a soft expression.

I look at Cordelia with so much confusion. "Chloe, you can't trust anything Sukie does. She is

dangerous and never does anything out of the goodness of her heart. It all comes at a price." She

declares, putting her hand on my shoulder. "She is the witch that did a spell to bring me back to

life," 1 tell Cordelia, with worry filling my eyes. "WHAT??!!" Cordelia shrieks as terror washes upon her

face.
