The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 128
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
âI know itâs stupid too.â Danika said cluelessly, âCarrying the Kingâs child⦠Itâs a good thing the child is no longer in meâ¦â
But, even as she said that the tears wouldnât stop falling from her eyes.
Baskiâs eyes went wide open. She canât believe thisâ¦! Itâs just too impossibleâ¦!
âWhoâs the child was that, Danika?â She blurted out.
Danika looked confused and surprised at the same time. âMadam Baskiâ¦?â
Baskiâs hand reached out and took Danikaâs hand into hers. She squeezed in agitation. âTell m-me the truth, you know Iâll never tell on you, right? The king will never find outâ¦! Weâll bury it here and treat it like it never happened! As far as you promise me that itâll never happen again, the king will never find out! But, you have to tell me whoâs child you carried!?â
Danikaâs shocked mouth opened, but Baski rushed on, clearly flustered and agitated.
âWere you raped? Who did it!? Why did you try to cover it upâ¦!?â She shook Danikaâs hand again, âJust tell me everything, Danika, I need to know! Please!?â
Danika was speechless. She wiped the tears from her eyes to see Baski clearly. She replayed every word Baski just said, and it dawned on her that the older woman thinks a manâwhoâs not the kingâlaid with her.
Baski thinks that she carried another manâs child.
âNo!â Danika snatched her hand from Baskiâs, at the shocking realization. âNo! Never! No other man has ever been with me that way, Madam Baski! Never!â
Her head began pounding, her heart racing, but she ignored those feelings and settled intense eyes on Baski. âItâs always been the king! Heâs the only man that Iâve ever been intimate with, Baski! Heâs the man that took my virginity and itâs been him ever since! Why will I degrade myself that way to be with another man?â
She raised her chin in regality, her eyes filled with fire. âI might be a slave now, Baski. I might be in plain clothes and do chores and mingle with all sorts of people. But, Iâll never degrade myself that way to let another man put his hands on me when I already belong to the king! Iâll never do something that despicable and it hurts me that youâll think so low of me like that.â
She finished, swiping the tears from her eyes again. She glared at Baski haughtily.
Baski raised trembling hands to cover her mouth. That intensityâ¦that innocenceâ¦that disgust in Danikaâs eyes cannot be faked.
âOh, Creatorâ¦! Noâ¦â Baski shook her head in sheer disbelief, âNo⦠It canât beâ¦â
Danika was the one who took one of Baskiâs hands this time around and placed it to her own chest.
Their eyes held and she whispered, âI swear on my life. I swear on my motherâs grave.â
âNo!â Baski snatched her hands away and tears began rolling out of her eyes in big waves. âHeavens! No, oh, Creator! His childâ¦? His childâ¦!? Oh, heavens! Gods! Creator!â
âBaskiâ¦?â Danika called her name, shocked at her reaction. Why is she this way?
Baski wasnât looking at her. Instead, she kept exclaiming, her eyes wide. When she rose from the bed, Danika though she wants to leave the bedroom.
But, Baski began crying earnestly. âHis childâ¦?â She cried so much pain in her voice.
âBaski, whatâs wrong?â Danika was beginning to feel scared. She tried to move to go to Baski, but her body hurts, protesting the movement.
Baski sobbed like a woman who heard her child died. She clutched her chest and her legs gave out. She fell to the ground and only kept crying. âThe Kingâs childâ¦?â
âPlease, youâre scaring me⦠Please, stop crying, Madam Baski⦠I swear, I didnât do anything wrong⦠Please, stopâ¦â Danika pleaded, feeling very bad to hear the broken sobs from the older woman.
Baski crawled closer to her and took hold of her hand. âYou canât loose that baby, Danikaâ¦! You just c-canâtâ¦!â
âB-Butââ Danika doesnât understand anything. It hurts her to see strong Baski fall apart his way. âTell me whatâs wrong, please, tell me how to help youâ¦?â
Baski shook her head sorrowfully. âYou can only help me by that child, Danika⦠Oh, Creator, pleaseâ¦! Why!? Why!? Danika, please help meâ¦â she cried.
âHow!? How do I help youâ¦? Please, tell me what to do!?â Danika shifted from the bed, ignoring the shards of pain that spread through her body.
She reached for Baski, pushed the older womanâs head beneath her chest and cradled her head there. She began rocking her softly, âItâs alright. Please, stop cryingâ¦â
Baski shifted her head to Danikaâs belly and only cried harder. âHow c-can this happen? Oh, my Creator!?â
Danika canât comprehend much, but she did give Baski soothing words, while rocking the woman as gentle as she can. âItâs okay, Baski. Please, stop crying.â
It only made Baski cry harder.
