The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 209
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
***IN THE KINGDOM OF NAVIA***
Manata bowed to her Princess. She listened attentively to all Kamaraâs instructions.
Kamara told her that whenever the Mistress Donna comes to her, that she should tell the mistress that sheâs the one that has been cooking all the bushmeats she brings back from her hunts.
Manata nodded, âI will make sure to tell her that, My Princess.â
Kamara had no doubt that she will. Manata hates Donna just like she doesâ¦.just like every worker in the Kingdom does.
She smiled gratefully at the girl and dismissed her. That side is done, she took off her clothes and walked into the bathroom. She wasnât surprised that Henna had already run her a bath.
In her tub, she reminisced about the memories she made with Callan in the past few months. The smile was back on her face by the time she was done taking her bath.
Henna was waiting for her in her bedroom to help her into her clothes, and do all her ropes and buttons. She just finished putting on her clothes when a knock came on her door.
âCome in.â She answered reluctantly, staring at herself in the mirror.
The door opened and Sarga, her fatherâs personal bodyguard entered. âMy Princess.â He bowed in greeting.
âWhat is it, Sarga?â
âThe King summons you, My Princess.â
Kamaraâs heart skipped several beats. âWhere is he?â
âIn his study, Princess. He requests for you immediately.â
âAlright, Iâm coming.â She responded. The guard bowed his head again and left.
âThat bîtch!â Kamara hissed angrily.
âOh, my Princess! Mistress Donna must have told the King!â Hennaâs eyes were wide with panic.
Fear and dread-filled Kamaraâs body⦠especially for Callan. If her father was going to punish her, she wouldnât feel a thing. As far as itâs not Callan he plans to punish.
She squared her shoulders. Since Donna didnât catch her, sheâs only making accusations. She will be damned before she admits to anything.
âIâm coming, Henna.â Nose in the air, her hands holding her clothes up a bit to allow her to walk a bit hastily without stumbling on the long garment, she walked out of her bedroom.
Several minutes later, she knocked on her fatherâs study.
âCome in.â Came the deep voice of her father.
Kamara opened the door and entered inside. The first person her eyes saw was the Mistress Donna who was hovering over her father while he was writing. The sight of the woman annoys her greatly.
âIâm here, Father.â
King Valendy dropped his inked feather by the desk and looked up at his daughter completely. âWhere have you been for the past few days, Kamara?â
âIâve been out hunting.â She responded with conviction.
Donna snorted. The King aced his brows, âAre you sure you want to go down the route of lying to me?â
âIt is not a lie, Father. I donât know what the mistress told you, but I was the one out, and I was the one hunting. So, yes, father, I have been outâ¦hunting.â she stated firmly.
Silence.
âMmh.â Her father nodded then, âI will believe you, Kamara.â
She hid her relief. âThank you, father.â
âCan you reduce the way youâ¦hunt in the future, so that you can be able to perform other duties of yours?â
âOf course, Father.â
âGood. See you on the morrow.â He said dismissively.
Kamara bowed her head to leave. But, Donnaâs angry voice came through, âAre you just going to let her leave, Your Highness!? She is lying to you, I am sure she is seeing that peasant of hers.â
âKamara knows better than to lie to me, Donna. If she says sheâs hunting, then, sheâs hunting.â He picked up his inked feather again and unrolled a new scroll.
Donna opened her mouth again. Just then, the door opened and the Queen entered. She snapped her mouth shut.
âGood evening, mother.â Kamara bowed her head in greeting.
âAnd you too, my daughter,â she replied noncommittally, her eyes searching out Donna and finding her instantly. She said nothing, waiting the mistress out.
Donna did the needful so begrudgingly, âMy Queen.â she greeted, bowing her head.
âWhat is the Princess doing here?â The queen asked, looking at Donna and the Kingâs general direction.
âFather summoned me, mother.â Kamara was the one that answered.
âYou, Donna, better not be making one of your plots and unnecessary innuendos about my daughter.â The Queen stated, glaring at the mistress.
âI have done no such thiââ
âGet out, and let the King work.â The Queen ordered.
Donna doesnât want to. So, she stared at the King, waiting for him to counter the Queenâs orders.
He didnât stop writing as he said, âIf the Queen tells you to leave, then, by all means, you should be standing behind this door in the next minute.â
Donnaâs face turned red from embarrassment and even anger. Kamara was doing her best to hide her smile. This is so like her father.
Everyone in the Kingdom knows he favors the Mistress more than the other five mistresses, and even more than the Queen when it comes to âhis bedâ. But out of it?
He respects his Queen immensely and does not counter her orders unnecessarily.
Donna bowed her head, turned and matched out of the room. Her angry steps thudding the floor as she walked.
