The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 36
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
Danika followed Baski to the backyard where the woman ordered her to carry some woods to the store and arrange it properly.
Sheâd wanted to question Baski but already, the older woman dismissed her by turning and on doing another thing altogether.
How would Baski bring her out from something as important as âIntroductionâ according to the kings, just for her to carry log of woods?
Something is definitely off.
Time dragged by. The more Danika carried the wood, the more her back prickled. Her chest became heavy. She was feeling uncomfortable.
Something is off. Something is definitely wrong. Whatever it is, is very bad to be affecting her this way.
She forgot all about a slave never questioning orders and she dropped the next log of wood she carried.
âB-Baskiâ¦?â She called. It surprised her that her voice was trembling.
âWhat is the matter?â Baski dropped the broom and stared at her.
But, Danika found out that Baski couldnât look her in the eyesâ¦.or at her face.
âWhatâs g-going on, B-Baski? Why am I here i-instead of the Royal Court?â She asked hoarsely.
Her eyes still couldnât meet hers when she said, âDo you have to question orders? You just do what youâre asked to and leave the rest until youâre asked to.â
But her words didnât come out as harsh and hard as she wanted it to because her voice trembled in the end.
Danikaâs heard suddenly caught on her throat. Something has gone so wrong, her mind whispered dreadfully.
Danika whimpered and shook her head repeatedly. She took two steps back, turned and started running towards the direction that leads to the Royal Court.
âDanika! You canât go there!â Baskiâs shout followed behind her.
Whatâs happening!? Danikaâs mind was in turmoil. This isnât just Baski saving her or anything, something is terribly wrong.
King Coneâs daughter canât just dissapear from the Royal Court and everywhere is still so peaceful. Whatâs going on!?
No one can be a fast runner in a big long extravagant corset gown, and so she can only run in a minimal pace, which made it easy for Baski to catch up with her several feet before the door.
Baski grabbed her by the arm and whirled her forcefully around. âWhatâs wrong with you!?â She demanded, but there were tears in her eyes.
Danikaâs heart flew out of her chest at the sight of those tears. âW-Whatâs going o-on? Whatâs h-happening?â
âShe wouldnât want you here, Danika. Come on, letâs go. Nowâ¦.!â Baski dragged her hand.
Danika dug her feet to the floor, not moving an inch. âSheâ¦? Whoâs sheâ¦.?â
Music started playing inside the courtroom. They heard laughter and shouts and cheerful words. The celebration was going well.
âWhoâs she, Baski?â Danika asked again, her throat suddenly dry.
âIf you go in there, youâll ruin everything and all her efforts will be in vain, do you hear me!? You wouldnât achieve anything going in there except putting the both of you and Sally into more trouble! They will execute her! All her efforts will be in vain!â Baski whispered heatedly.
Danika froze. Her throat suddenly went so dry like sandpaper and she gulped. âS-Sally?â
âOh, Creator.â Baski m****d when she found out what she said. Sheâs been so agitated, sheâd made a mistake.
But itâs already made. Sheâll tell her the truth.
Baski held her hand tight even as she raised her chin. âSally is in there. Sheâs taking your place.â
All the b***d drained from Danikaâs face. She suddenly felt faint. She would have fallen if Baskiâs hands didnât catch her.
She went into a trance right in front of Baskiâs eyes.
âNoâ¦noâ¦noâ¦noâ¦â She can only whisper as tears filled her eyes. ââ¦noâ¦it canât beâ¦.â
âDanikâ-â
ââ¦.noâ¦oh Creator, noâ¦.â She raised eyes filled with unshed tears to Baskiâs face and whispered so pleadingly, ââ¦.please, tell meâ¦itâs not trueâ¦no, noâ¦oh, noâ¦pleaseâ¦.â
A scream rose above the music and resonated the whole place.
A scream so loud from a voice so familiar, something died inside her at the very sound of it.

When Danika heard Sallyâs scream, she reacted on impulse. Her eyes widening, she turned and started running the remaining distance to the door.
Danikaâs heart flew out of her chest at the sight of those tears. âW-Whatâs going o-on? Whatâs h-happening?â
She wasnât thinking, she could only cry and wish to stop this nightmare. âNoâ¦oh pleaseâ¦noâ¦â
Baski caught her just at the door and grabbed her with all the strength sheâd gathered with years of hardworkâ¦.living as a slave.
âStop! Think, Danika! Stop!â Baski forced her to a stop, whirling her around to face her.
Danika started crying outrightly. âI canât take thisâ¦. I canât take this⦠Baski, this canât b-beâ¦â
Tears overflowed from Baskiâs eyes and she wrapped her arms around Danika, pulling the younger woman to her arms. âShe wanted to do this for you, Danika. You canât stop it nowâ¦â
Danika was so much taller than Baski but in that moment, it doesnât matter. She wrapped her arms tightly around the plump woman, her head burrowed to her chest as she sobbed.
Another scream rose above the music, and Danika started struggling against Baski, but the older woman held her tight.
âW-What areâ¦they doingâ¦to her? S-Sally wouldnâtâ¦s-scream that loud ifâ¦it d-d-doesnât hurtâ¦â She sobbed.
Another scream came. And again. And again.
The sound of laughter and clattering of conversations coming out from the Royal Court was like a stab to Danikaâs chest, the music was like a thorn running down her body.
They laugh and dance in celebration, oblivious to the Sallyâs screams like it doesnât matter. Like itâs a spice to their festival.
âAaahâ¦. She feels good! Been wanting to do this for so long! â King Morehâs breathy voice was heard above the music, âYour turn, Pesih, youâre the fourth!â
Danika burrowed deeper into Baski and cried sorrowfully, âOh Creatorâ¦.pleaseâ¦help⦠No, noâ¦Sally, noâ¦.â
âHeavens, so King Pesih is hereâ¦?â Baski whispered under her breath.
Danika nodded, sniffling. âYes. What do youâ¦knowâ¦about h-him?â
Baski hesitated, new tears burning her eyes. âI heard that he challenged King Cone in court and in revenge, your father abducted his niece.â she paused, âWords are that the girl went through hell before she was found by her family again. Heard she was like my baby Remeta for years. Sheâs dead now.â
