The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 48
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
Sally tried to sit up and Danika saw the move, she helped Sally to sit up on the bed, the both of them wincing at the same time.
Sally heard her wince and she lifted concerned eyes towards Danika, âAre youâ¦alright, my p-princess?â
The question so softly askedâ¦so brokenly askedâ¦caused tears to fill Danikaâs hurting eyes immediately. She pushed closer and wrapped her arms around Sallyâs body, burying her face on her neck.
âOh, Sallyâ¦. How can you ask about me when youâre the person thatâs hurt!? Why did you do it!? Why!? Why did you have to do that to me Sallyâ¦?â She cried.
Sally doesnât like seeing her cry. She has never liked it. Hearing her princessâs cries, feeling the way her body was shaking against hers, was hurting her badly.
âMy princessâ¦. Please, donât cry.â She whispered, raising her bandaged hand, she patted her back in reassurance. âPlease, donât cryâ¦. I donât like that you cryâ¦â
Those words only made Danika cry harder, even as she tried to control herself, she couldnât help it. Her body shook with the force of the pain and relief coursing through her.
Sallyâs here. Sallyâs alive. Sally will be fine.
Every other thing doesnât matter. It doesnât matter how yesterdayâs event affected Sally. It doesnât matter that her Sally might probably never recover from it.
What matters is that sheâs here. Sheâs alive. She survived.
As Danika cried, she admitted to herself that she must be a selfish person for being relieved that Sallyâs aliveâ¦even though itâs obvious sheâs in deep pains. At that moment, it doesnât matter.
She vowed then, that sheâll protect Sally as best as she can. She also vowed that sheâll do everything within her power to help Sally heal. Everything.
âIâll leave you two to talk. Iâll be back very soon, Sally needs her wounds cleaned and redressed.â Baskiâs voice came.
Danika pulled back and stared at her. âThank you so much, Madam Baski. Thank you so much for everything.â
âYouâre welcome. Iâll be back.â She turned to leaveâ¦.
Then she stopped and turned back. âHe was his cousin.â She said suddenly.
âHuh?â Danika stared at her with teary eyes, clearly lost.
Baskiâs lashes fluttered, her eyes lowering. When she raised it again, the sadness in her eyes was stark and blatant.
âYou asked who Declan is.â She said finally, âDeclan is the Kingâs young cousin brother.â

âYouâ¦.mustâ¦have been so worried. Iâm soâ¦.sorry, My Princess.â Sally whispered as she gazed at her princess when Baski left the room.
Danika only pulled her close, wrapping her arms around her again, tears blurring her eyes.
âPlease, donât ever do something like this to me again, Sally. You donât know how h-heartbreaking it is. Oh Sally, Iâm so so sorry. Iâm s-so sorry for what they did to youâ¦.!â
Sally pulled back. Staring into her face, she palmed her cheeks with shaky bandaged hands. âWhat those k-kings didâ¦to me hurt so much, my princess. I almost diedâ¦from the painâ¦â
âOh Sallyâ¦.â Danikaâs heart broke a little more inside.
ââ¦it hurt, my princess but I was able to endure itâ¦I wanted to. I had to. I did it for you, because I know youâ¦can never take s-such treatment from them.â her lips curved into a small smile, âYouâre my princessâ¦you arenât a slave.â
âSally, you donât know how hard it wasâ¦seeing you that way because of me. You should have given me a choice, I would have been on that table instead of you. Because of meâ¦me! Iâm not sure I would have been able to bear it if anything happened to you, you scared me so badly.â Danika explained, wiping her tears.
Sally smiled slowly, âBut I canâtâ¦just leave my princess here. Someone has to be here to protect you⦠Who would that be, if not Sally?â She asked slowly.
Danika took her hands into hers, âNo. From now one, Iâll protect you. You just focus on getting better. Pleaseâ¦be alive for me, Sally. Just try to stay alive and Iâll do my best to help you healâ¦â
Sally stared down at her bandaged self. Sitting down there on the bed, she shifted a little, flexing her muscles and a sharp bite of pain slammed through her body from all directions.
She bit the inside of her lips tight to make sure her princess doesnât see her pain. She stared at her princessâs face, noting how swollen her eyes was from crying. Her red they were.
âIf I promiseâ¦to fight so hard to survive, My Princess, I want you to make me a promiseâ¦â Her voice hoarse like gravel.
âAnything at all.â She responded at once.
âNever b-blame yourself for what happened. Never carry that guiltâ¦inside you. Stop h-hurting from it. Donât let it change you, my princess. Donât let it break you. You have to promise me.â Her eyes searched Danikaâs.
Danika only felt like crying more. âOhâ¦Sallyâ¦.â
âPlease, you have to p-promise me that youâll let go. I donât want you ever living with such burden, it will kill me⦠Please, promise me that youâll do everything p-possible to let go, My Princess, and I promise to do everything possible to fight so hard and get betterâ¦â Sally was breathing hard by the time she was done talking so slowly.
Danika let her words wash over her. Taking in the expectant look on Sallyâs face, she closed her eyes.
âI promise.â She whispered at last.
She said those words: promising to let go, promising to try and stop blaming herself, promising to deal with the pain of what happened yesterday, promising not to let it change herâ¦break her.
As she said those words, her heart lifted in her chest. Her shoulders felt light, like some burden was lifted from it. Her heart felt better. She felt better.
She might never forget what happened to Sally in the courtroom, she might never forget hearing it happen, she might never forget that Sally did it for her, but she was determined to deal with the pain and the guilt.
If Sally with all the cuts and bruises on her body, can still smile and plead with her to make such promise, then by all mean, sheâll make sure to keep this promise.
âI promise, Sally.â She repeated, stronger this time.
Sally smiled again then. âIâm so glad, my princess.â
Just then, the door opened and Baski entered again. Chad and two maids including Uyah followed behind her.
Danika helped take Sally to the bathroom, and helped her bath. No matter how much Sally protested, Danika wonât have it.
Afterwards, she helped Sally dress too before she walked her gingerly back to the bed. The maids, they watched wide-eyed in shock and disbelief. But Chad and Baski just watched them expressionlessly.
Danika and Sally didnât notice.
While Baski redressed Sallyâs wounds, Danika brought out a book and started reading to her just to try and take her mind off the pain. Even as tears pulled from Sallyâs eyes, she did her best to listen attentively to her princessâs as she read to her.
âAll done.â Baski said at last, putting away the bloody used bondage.âYouâve already drank the your portions and taken your pills while you were still drifting through consciousness.â
âThank you so much, Madam Baski.â Sally g*****d, her face tight with pain.
âYou gave us quite the big scare yesterday. Even big Chad here was scared out of his mind too. Weâre just glad youâre fighting it out, Sally.â Baski said.
Sallyâs eyes found the big personal guard of the king, he bowed his head a bit in greeting. Her cheeks heated up and she returned the greeting with a bow of her own head.
Sally tried to temper down the shame that rose inside her. This great man always looks at her with respect before.
She wondered if heâll keep seeing her as a respectable girl, or heâll start seeing her like trash because of what happened?
