The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 56
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
Danika walked until she entered the servantâs quarters. She was surprised to see Sally and Chad standing in front of her door.
Sallyâs eyes was bright but her cheeks was flushed. The Kingâs personal guard stood in front of her in that usual calm way of his and he asked her things which Sally answered.
Danika couldnât make out what they were saying because she was far away. As she got closer, Sally sighted her and quickly said goodbye to Chad.
âMy princess, my princess.â She said as she walked towards her, her eyes swept over Danikaâs body.
âSally, how are you doing this morning?â
âOh, my princess, you canât imagine how scared I was when I woke up and couldnât find you on the bed. It was Sire Chad that told me that the king summoned you. I was so scared that the king has killed you.â
The king killed her but it wasnât the way Sally was thinking. Danika kept the thought to herself.
Together, they walked into the room which looked beautiful and even luxurious because Sally decorated it.
âChad? Where did you find him?â Danika asked curiously, remembering the answer she gave her.
A blush crept over her cheeks. âHe woke me up earlier this morning, Mr Princess. I was screaming, he said.â
âYou were having a nightmare.â Danikaâs heart squeezed in her chest, burning with guilt.
Sally saw the look at crossed her face and waved her off. âItâs nothing really. Iâll be fine, my princess. Sire Chad was there with me until I fell asleepâ¦. I didnât know when he left.â She revealed shyly.
âIâm glad you werenât on your own.â She palmed her head, a headache forming.
âAre you alright, My Princess?â
âThe mistress almost scalped me earlier.â She mumbled, going to the bed to sit down on it.
âThat wicked witch of the west.â Sally whispered, concerned. âDid you do anything wrong, my princess?â
âI think itâs because the king summoned me. Iâ¦â Danika took a deep breath, ââ¦I spend the night with him.â
Sally blinked twice. âIn his bed? Is that even possible? I heard rumors that the king really hates skin contact with his.â
âYes, he does. I⦠I canât explain it. The mistress is so angry about it.â
âLet her choke on her anger.â Sallyâs eyes flashed. âSheâs not a good woman, my princess. Sheâs bitter.â
Then, Sally got up from the bed. âIâll run a bath for you. I wish we still have those portions that works as pain destroyers, but we donât and Madam Baski didnât come in today because of her daughterâ¦.â
âYouâre still recovering, Sally. Come and sit down, let me doââ
Sally shook her head, âNo, my princess. The medicine man and Madam baski said itâs okay for me to exercise my body. Iâll be fine.â
Danika was going to say something else but Sally already disappeared into the small bathroom.
Alone, Danikaâs mind went back to the night she spent with the king. His scent still clung to her body that she takes every breath and itâs him on her mind.
She never wanted last night to end, she admitted deep down in the privacy of her mind. Will there ever be more night like that? Will there be more nights where heâll take her on the bed and let her sleep close to him?
A tightness to her chest reminded her that he told her clearly that itâs just for tonight, last night.
âMy Princess!?â Sally shouted from the bathroom.
âYes, Sally?â
âIâm planning to go to Madam Baskiâs place for todayâs treatment since she wonât come to the palace until late evening!â
âI think thatâs a good idea. Iâll take you to her place, Iâ¦â she paused, âIâve always wanted to see her daughter, Remeta.â
âOh, the ghosted one?â
âWhatâs that?â Danika asked, confused.
Sally came out of the bathroom, wiping her wet hands on her clothes. She looked sad, âThatâs what the townpeople call her. The ghosted one. They say she behaves like a ghost and a mad girl because of what she went through.â
Danikaâs heart reached out for Remeta and for Baski. The way people look at her so pitifully, pointing at her whenever she walksâ¦.and then, having to know that people say all this about her daughter behind her back must be heartbreaking.
âThatâs one of the reasons I strive everyday, My Princess.â Sallyâs suddenly dull voice penetrated Danikaâs mind.
âWhy?â She asked softly.
âI donât want to end up like Remeta. The things those kings did to meâ¦â Sally trailed off and her eyes watered.
Danika got up and walked to her, ignoring the sharp pains that shot through her body at the movement.
She palmed Sallyâs cheeks, âYouâre the strongest woman Iâve ever seen, Sally. Thank you for being strong for me⦠Thank you for being strong for yourselfâ¦.â
Sally beamed at her through the tears and sniffled. âThank you so much for being good to me, my princess.â
âWeâll go together to Baskiâs place. That way sheâll give us both portions we need.â Danika concluded.
âAlright, my princess.â She went back to the bathroom.
Danika followed her. As she walked she mapped out in her head, how the day will be. There are so many questions in her head too.
Going to Baskiâs place. And then, the court. And then, the hunting ground.
Although, there will be no more introductions, the thought of going to court always scares her shitless. Nothing good ever comes out of a slave going to court.
And, why would the king want to take her to the hunting game of the Kings?
Her head burned again and she palmed it,trying to soothe it. Why would the mistress want to scalp her bald for following the kingâs orders?
