The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 71
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
Danika turned to her, seeing the helpless look on her eyes.
âI donât want to stay away from you. I donât want to. They will force me tooâ¦.â She continued.
Danika placed a hand on her shoulder, âAll slaves, maids and servants are under Madam Baski and she already knows that youâre here. If the king finds outâ¦â she bit her lips, ââ¦.weâll cross that bridge later.â
Sally nodded her head. âAlright, my princess.â hef lips stretched in a smile, âWe live in the moment. No point thinking about tomorrow, right!?â
Danika nodded with a smile. âExactly. How was your day at the market?â
Sally flushed a little and ducked her head.
Danikaâs brows rose in question. âSally?â
âSire Chad saw me on the way and he escorted me. He walked me to the market, and even as I picked out my cottons, he just stood there patiently and waited for me.â She told her princess shyly, her face glowing.
Danikaâs eyes widened. She tried to reconcile the image of the stoic, cool personal guard of the king that doesnât care about looking at peopleâs faces, spending sometime with Sally and walking her to the market.
Itâs a little too hard to believe, but she wasnât surprised. Sheâd seen the way the two of them stand together and talk.
Danika watched the glowing face of Sally and decided that her best friend does like Chad a lot. She just wishes Sally to be happyâ¦anything at all that will make Sally happy will make her happy.
âOh, I heard that the wicked mistress went into the Kingâs Chambers. Did she see you there?â Sally suddenly asked, her eyes wide.
The question reminded Danika of her burning scalp. Impulsively, her hand went up to her hair. It also reminded her of the things sheâd said to the mistress and her cheeks turned red.
She canât believe that sheâd been able to speak to her in that way.
âOh, Sallyâ¦â She exhaled in defeat. The mistress will just tell the king about it and sheâll be punished for it.
âWhat happened?â Sally asked worriedly.
âThe mistress almost scalped me, so I yanked her hand away from my hair and also said some things to her. Not mean things,â she added, ââ¦just things a slave should never say to a mistress.â
Sally thought about that, her brow knitted in worry. She doesnât want anything to happen to her Princess at all, but then again, that Wicked Witch of the West is just tooâ¦.wicked.
âDonât worry about it, Sally. Weâll cross that bridge later.â She went right ahead to reassuring Sally when she saw the worry.
Sally nodded. She even smiled. âDonât mind that mistress. I donât know why she hates you so so much, she almost whipped you to death. Even the king never did that!â
âI wonder too.â
Sally smiled. âLetâs go wash clothes, my princess before they come to call us.â
âRemeta will be awake by the time weâre done. Then, we are will go to the library. You, Sally, I need to continue your education.â Danika said with a smile.
Sally pouted, âReading and writing is wasted on me, my princess. Youâve been trying to teach me for ages but Iâve been unable to learn.â
âOne thing about life is that we donât ever give up, Sally. I want you to be able to know how to do all these⦠Youâre just not any slave to me, Sally. Youâve never been.â
Sallyâs cheeks flushed red, she threw her arms around her princessâs middle. âI love you so much, my princess.â
Danika patted her head lovingly, âYou know I love you too.â
âOh, my princess. I really wish the time will come when youâll stop suffering like a slave. This life doesnât deserve my princess. My princess donât deserve this filthy life at all. A life where everybody can just beat her aroundâ¦order her aroundâ¦.drag her hair the way they want.â
Her voice cracked and tears filled her eyes as she continued, âOnce upon at time, none of them would have been able to look her in the eyes. To walk on the same ground she walked onâ¦talk more of putting their filthy hands on her. It hurts me, my princess! It hurts me so much!â
Danika kept patting her head as Sallyâs tears soaked her clothing covering her left breast.
âPlease, stop crying, Sally. Thatâs all in the past now⦠Letâs not look behindâ¦. Letâs keep looking forward. Who knows?â she smiled in reassurance, âMy future might get bright like the king and his peopleâs future suddenly got bright five years ago.â

Sally pulled away from her and wiped her tears, âYouâre right, My Princess. Youâre right.â
Danika helped her wipe her tears. She kept smiling at Sally, until Sally was able to return her smile by giving her a watery smile.
âThatâs more like it.â Danika encouraged, still smiling, âLetâs look on the bright side. We live in the Royal Quarters now. Away from noises and troubles. We have a bigger bed and a bigger room.â
âWe have a beautiful rug and exquisite cottons on the window. With a little touch on this bedroom, we might be able to get it to look like my former bedroom in Mombana.â
Sally brightened instantly. âOh, yes! I like that thought, my princess! Just leave that one to me! Iâll make this room look like that.â she grinned and whirled around excitedly, âAaaahâ¦the day is suddenly looking so bright, my princess!â
Danikaâs smile turned to full blown grin. âThe only person brightening up the day is you, Sally.â
As she walked to the bathroom, she was still happy. Sheâs happy about a lot of things.
The king talking to her. Embracing her. Sleeping in her arms. Sheâs happy about having a girl like Sally. And now, Remeta has joined her family, and sheâs happy too.
It doesnât matter what the future holds. What matters is that she has a small family that loves her. She will do everything within her power to make Remeta get better.
She just wished that thereâs a way she can be able to help the king too.
