The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 78
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
When the guards came to take Danika in the late evening, panic filled her.
Sheâd dreaded this moment all day she had been unable to do anything at all. They would torture her now. Hurt her for being Coneâs daughter.
âNoâ¦! Noâ¦! Please, just leave my princess alone!â Sally cried to the guards as they took Danikaâs hand.
Danikaâs only happiness was that Remeta wasnât around to witness this, she is at the backyard watching the maids play the moonlight game.
At least, Remeta isnât here. This would have traumatized her further.
As Sally cried and pleaded, they took her away from their room.
But as they walked, they didnât take the turn that leads out of the Royal Quarters. Instead, they walked her the long hallway that separated her bedroom with the Kingâs Chambers.
When the guards came to take Danika in the late evening, panic filled her.
One of them opened the door and walked Danika into the kingâs room.
âI brought her, Court Lady.â The guard addressed Madam Baski.
She nodded and told the guards to leave. They all left. Danika took a peak at the mistress who stood bes
sheâs a stranger.
She raised her chin, refusing to feel shame at all. He didnât have to block her part but he did! Itâs his fault.
âThe king is unwellâ Baski continued, âWe have to give him the time he needs to recover. He needs peace and quietness.â
âWe can all settle our differences when heâs better again and we shouldnât disrespect him by shouting and fighting in his chambers.â She stared pointedly at Vetta.
She did duck her head in shame then.
Baski turned to Danika whoâs attention was completely focused on the king and she was still running the wet cloth down his cheek. Her touch was so gentle, itâs obvious sheâs deliberately doing her best not to hurt him.
Baski watched the rise and fall of the Kingâs chest. He looks more relaxed that heâs been all day.
âDanika.â She called.
Danika turned towards her, âYes, Madam Baski.â
âIâm leaving the king in your care. Take good care of him. Iâll come in to check up on him as much as possible but he needs rest now, and we will all leave him to you.â
