The Alpha King’s Hated Slave Chapter 88
The Alpha King's Hated Slave
Danika walked back to her bedroom after she left the kingâs quarters. She canât push these words he said to her away from her mind.
âJust for the evening, I will be your king and not your master.â
It made her heart light, just thinking about it. But then, her heart doesnât stay light for long.
How did she allow herself to fall for him? She fell in love so deeply, it hurts just thinking about it.
She opened the door to her room to see Sally sitting on the bed. She was sewing a dress, and at the same time, she seems to be in thought.
âMy princessâ¦!â Sally smiled at her as she saw her standing on the door.
She tried to smile back but her smile came out shaky. Her heart was hurting too muchâ¦squeezing the life out of her chest.
The smile disappeared from Sallyâs face, replaced by concern and panic. âWhatâs wrong? Are you alright, my princess?â
Tears rolled down Danikaâs cheeks. She ran across the room and threw herself to Sallyâs arms.
âOh, Sallyâ¦! What am I g-going to do..!?â She sobbed, her body trembling.
Sally was shocked about her princessâs reaction and she got more worried. She hugged her princessâs head to her chest and started patting it in reassuranceâ¦.even though, sheâs getting more panicked.
âWhat is the matter, My Princess? Please, talk to me. Is it the wicked mistress? Did she hurt you again? Drag you by the hair? Is it the king? Did he punish you f-for yesterday?â She asked the last one dreadfully.
âOh, Sallyâ¦! Right now, I think itâs something worseâ¦â She whispered, trying to get a hold of herself.
Sally let out a deep sigh of relief. The king didnât hurt her physically, thatâs a sure relief. Butâ¦
âWhat could be the problem?â She whispered worriedly.
Danika pulled back and sniffled, wiping the tears from her eyes. âIâm in l-love with him.â She blurted out.
Sally blinked in confusion. âIn loveâ¦?â She said the words like they are foreign term.
She nodded, sniffling again. âIâve fallen in love with King Lucien, Sally.â
That was when it dawned on Sally. Her eyes widened In sheer horror. âOh noâ¦!â
Danika nodded miserably. âI donât know how it happened. I donât know⦠But itâs true I can feel itâ¦!â she looked at Sally with eyes filled with sorrow and pain, âHow d-did this happen..? How did I allow myself to fall for my masterâ¦? Not just any master, but for king Lucienâ¦?â
âPlease, stop crying, my princess. Itâs not a death sentenceâ¦.â Sally tried to console her, even as her own heart was starting to burn.
âItâs worse than a death sentence, Sally. My f-father hurt him to hell and he hates me so much. He has hurt me a lot, and his eyes are so cold when they stare at me. How can I have falling for him so deeply?â She cried.
âThis will not end well at all for me, Sally. Hr might as well order my execution when he finds out.â
Sallyâs hand went to her wet cheek, she forced her princessâs eyes to meet hers. âListen to me, my princess. Youâre overthinking this. The king is the most unpredictable man I know, no one can ever predict him or know what heâs going to do next.â
âSo, instead of worrying yourself to death, why donât you try to put it away from your mind and live in the momentâ¦? In the best way you canâ¦?â
Danika found herself nodding to her words. âYouâre right, youâre right.â She started wiping her cheeks.
Sally nodded, helping her wipe it clean. âYes. Youâre the one that always say that we shouldnât waste time over things we canât change? So, why donât you do so nowâ¦? And, I want you to know that love is not an offense or a crime too, you always say this to me.â
She placed her hand on Danikaâs chest, âItâs in hereâ¦. Love. Itâs yours. Your feeling. Your secret. You have fallen for the king. For your masterâ¦. Itâs okay, my princess. You have a big heartâ¦.itâs okay to love.â she whispered to her like a mother would console a child, âYou have a pure heartâ¦itâs okay to nurse these feelings for him. You cannot tell your heart whom to love. Everything is going to be alright ⦠Everythingâ¦â
Danika felt a burden being lifted from her shoulders as Sally crooned to her in consolation. Suddenly, she felt better.
Itâs okay to love him. Itâs okay to nurse these feelings for him. You cannot tell your heart whom to love. Everything will be fine.
âOh, Sallyâ¦. Thank you so much.â She whispered in sincere gratitude. She leaned up and kissed Sally tentativey beside her lips.
Sally glowed under the heartfelt tenderness. âYouâre welcome, my princess.â
âYou were in thought when I got in here.â Danika remembered, âIs everything alrightâ¦.? How is Chad?â
She startled a little bit. Her cheeks reddened, âYou knewâ¦.?â
âThat you have feelings for the kingâs personal assistant and bodyguard? Yes, I do.â
âOh, my princess. Itâs so frightening⦠Caring for such a man of status. Such a good and great man⦠Iâm just a slave and most of the maids in this palace finds him attractive and always wants to get his attention.â
âAnd does he give it? His attention?â Danika asked softly.
Sally shook her head, not having to think about it one bit. She has never seen Sire Chad give his attention to any female at allâ¦
âI thought as much. Heâs such a gentleman, Sally. And Iâll tell you the honest truth, I think he has feelings for you too.â
Sally gasped in disbelief. âThat is just ridiculous, my princess. Heâ¦.speaks to me with respect and heâ¦is always a gentleman to me. But, I wouldnât mistake it for anything else.â
There was sadness in her eyes as she made that statement.
Danika wanted to reassure her the more, but she didnât. She isnât sure of the big escortâs intentions towards her best friend and the last thing she wants, is for Sally to ever get hurt.
Just the thought of something like that happening feels her chest with dread. She changed the topic.
âRemeta is still with her mother, right?â She asked.
âYes. Madam Baski took her into the forest to gather herb leaves and seeds.â
âOkay. The king invited me for an evening walk with him.â She finally confided the source of her inner joy to Sally.
Sallyâs eyes widened. âReally!? He did!?â
Danika felt her cheeks heating up. âYes.â
âOh, that is so great! Iâm so happy, my princess! We have to get you prepared, you need your slaveâs outing wear andââ
âCalm down, Sally. Iâve not gotten my outing wear yet, Baski said the tailor will be done in a few noon days.â She reminded her excited best friend.
Sally waved her off, jumping up to her feet. âNot to worry about that. I have a spare outing wear, and I also have some money with me.â She clapped her hands excitedly.
âMoney for what?â Danika asked curiously.
âTo take the outfit to the tailor in town. We have to get it designed with lace and a little silk.â
âButâ¦.! You canât do that Sally. Only privileged people has laces and silks in their clorhings.â
âThere is no law that forbid it that, my princess. The only problem slaves have is that there is nowhere to make money and they are very expensive. But you donât have to worry about that, my princess.âShe waved her off, walking to her wardrobe to go and search for her outing wear.
Danika watched her silently as she attacked her bag with sharp hands. She couldnât help the smile that touched her face.
She canât imagine being able to survive here without Sally. She can never be able to pay Sally back for everything she did to her, but she is not giving up.
âThere. Found it.â She raised the plain green dress from her back. âIâm going downtown now. We need the tailor to put some lace, and a little bit of silk to it. My princess has to look so beautiful.â
Danika knows that sheâs in thought and sheâs talking to herself, so she didnât say a word. Instead, she watched her adoringly.
âWe need to get it really ironed too. Yes, ironed. Mended and ironed. Then, a little bit of lace and silkâ¦!â she stared up at her princess then, âOh, my princess, youâre going to be so beautiful..!â
âDoes it matter? If I am?â Danika sighed. She knows the king wouldnât care one bit if she is.
âOh, but it matters a lot!â Sally grinned at her in reassurance.
