CHAPTER 39
Goodbye Cheater Hello CEO’s Wife
Chapter 39
Clayton laughed after finding out the reason. He stroked her hair gently. âSilly girl, Iâm your husband, who you should learn to rely on, take advantage of, dominate, and ask for demands. Youâre not alone anymore, okay? Donât be polite to meâ
Isabella tightened her grip. She was sincerely grateful for him.
âThank heaven for sending this man to me, she thought
Clayton let her hold him. Although he did not know her thoughts, the sadness and loneliness that she exuded made him very distressed.
Clayton told himself, Even her biological father treated her like that. Perhaps she canât immediately trust someone she has not known for long. I canât rush things. I be patient as she is my little girlâ
Isabella stood quietly while hugging Clayton. After calming down, she let go of him.
Clayton wrapped his arm around her shoulders. âLetâs go upstairs and apply some ice on your face. Otherwise, it will be all bruised tomorrow, and you canât go out in publicâ
Isabella nodded.
Suddenly, she was stunned to see the strange place,
She stopped and looked around in surprise. Where is this?â
Clayton chuckled and shook his head, thinking. Sheâs so bewildered, but what to do?
âFollow me.â He walked on with his arm around her.
Isabella stood before the adding windows and saw the campus of University of Maulmore not far away with astonishment.
Clayton put one hand in his pocket and smiled at her. âDo you like it here?â
Isabella nodded.
Clayton turned to take a title deed from the closer and opened it.
Upon seeing her name on it, Isabella looked at Clayton with widened eyes. âWâWhat. Whatâs going on?â
Clayton put it back in the closet. âKeep it properly. Itâs in this closet. This house is yours. I know you donât like living in Cityview Manor. This is your home now. You can decorate it however you want.
Isabella was shocked, thinking. How did he know I donât like Cityview Manor How attentive he is!â
Did
you buy me this house?â Isabella looked at Clayton, thinking that the gift was too valuable.
Clayton looked at her seriously. âAs a woman, you should have a haven. After getting married, if you quarrel with your husband one day and get unhappy, there must be a place where you can cry.â
Isabella cried instantly. Such a sentence was so heartwarming to her.
âBut this house must be expensive, right? Yvonne said that the clothes on me cost 4.000 dollars Clayton, I canât spend your money like this. Iâll feel uneasy.â Isabella disapproved of it. She was unsure of her feelings yet. Hence, she could not take up so much from Clayton materially
Clayton sighed secretly, knowing that he could not rush things. He said, âYou donât need to be so meticulous about money. If you mind about this house, letâs keep an account. If you insist on dividing it so precisely, you can pay me back when you get the inheritance. Letâs pretend that you have advanced the money now, all right?â
âThis man even made a perfect excuse for me! With that thought, Isabella wiped her tears and accidentally touched her cheek. It hurt so much that she gasped.
Clayton hurriedly opened the refrigerator to get ice. Then, he went to the bathroom to get a towel, wrapped the ice up, brought Isabella to the couch, and carefully applied it to her face.
Tabella instinctively gasped in pain upon feeling the icy sensation.
Clayton was distressed. âYou silly girl. Donât you know how to dodge it? Where else does it hurt! Is your scalp hurt? So much of your hair was ripped out. He naturally massaged her head gently.
fabella leaned on the couch and let him carefully apply the ice pack to her face, but her tears fell uncontrollably.
Does it hurt very much?â Clayton became more careful.
Chapter 39
Isabella shook her head and grabbed his hand to put the ice on her face.
âThis is the second time Iâve been slapped for fighting back against Yvonne. It was a light stap. Isabella closed her eyes, enduring the chill and pain brought by the ice
âThe first time, I was slapped a lot and fell down the stairs. 1 hit my head and broke my leg,â she said calmly as if she were talking about someone else.
Claytonâs heart tensed, and he instinctively held her hand.
âWhat happened later?â His heart ached.
Isabella continued, Tater, I was locked in that small room. The next day, Elsie secretly went to see me and found that 1 vomited everywhere and had passed out. She sent me to the hospital and found I had a concussion, multiple soft tissue contusions, and a fracture on my right leg. I was in a coma for more than a week. After gaining consciousness, Iâve been groggy all the time. I donât remember many things about the past except for how I was injuredâ
d they treat her like that? While thinking, anger flashed in Claytonâs eyes, and he could not help l
but tighten his fist.
How could they treat
Isabella looked up at him. âAre you wondering why they treated me like that? Because my last name is not Ingram but Sorenson. Because I lost mny mom and granddad!
Isabellaâs tone was filled with sadness and desolation.
âDo you hate them?â asked Clayton
Isabella paused and nodded slowly. She was not a saint and could not forgive easily.
âIn the past, I just wanted to get married early and leave that place as soon as possible. I thought everything would be fine afterward. Now, I understand that they have never intended to let me go. They want to ruin me completelyâ Isabella was clear of Nathanâs auitude.
Clayton hugged her gently. âLittle girl, donât be sad. You have me from now on. Everything I have is yours. Iâll give you whatever you want. If I donât have it, Iâll find and grab it for yout Itâs okay if you want revenge against them. Let me know your plan. Iâll do it for you. I just want you to be happy!
understand?r
Isabella hugged him back.
She was so touched, even though his words were said to comfort her
She wished the time could freeze al

moment forever because she felt loved.
âBoss, weâre here,â Kayson shouted as he opened the door.
The door came with a
password lock
lock. Kayson was the one who had set the password, so he naturally could open it
But after opening the door, he hated himself very much.
He blamed himself inwardly, âWhy did I not look at the situation? Iâm digging my own grave! Why didnât I knock on the door? I wouldnât have been doomed if I knocked! Now, Iâve barged in like this, Iâm finishedâ
He stood at the door with a sad face. âBoss, please go on. Weâre leaving
âGet your ass in here!â Claytonâs voice sounded emotionless, making Kayson freeze in place
Hendrix kicked him in from behind. âBoss asked you to go in. What are you doing?
Hendrix was blocked by Kayson and did not see the scene inside. He thought Kayson had lost his mind again, so he pushed him away nonchalantly and walked in with the things.
He looked up and saw Clayton and Isabella standing next to each other. He was momentarily stunned, knowing that Kayson must have seen something he should not have seen. Hendrix secretly sighed. What a close call! Luckily, I was not the one walking ahead
He acted as if nothing had happened Johnny had trained them not to show emotions on their faces. Fortunately, he and Weston practiced it well, unlike Kayson
Hendrix put
the things by the wall. âMr. Murray, these are all Mrs. Murrayâs things. Mrs. Murray, please check if thereâs anything else we missed. If thereâs nothing else, Kay and I will go first.â
He pulled Kayson, who was getting dazed, away.
Isabella squatted and took the books from the bag slowly. Her tears streamed continuously.
She touched radhi book, and tears fell onto them. The papers were gradually covered with tears.
Clayton removed everything from the bag and sat on the floor to help her separate books, clothes, and groceries.
Isabella knelt on the floor, picked up books one by one, and piled them up neatly.
âThese books are all old. When I got them, they were already old,â Isabella said calmly. She inexplicably wanted to talk about that day, while Clayton was a good listener who could make her feel at ease. âOn the day I was admitted to the University of Moulmore, Yvonne lost her temper and smashed everything in her room. They only gave me 300 dollars a month for living expenses and forced me to sign a letter of guarantee. I couldnât mention I was the Ingram familyâs daughter at school or work partâtime to earn money as I couldnât disgrace the Ingram family
Isabella continued. âAt the University of Moulmore, 300 dollars is barely enough for meals every month. Many books in the computer science department needed to be bought outside, but I didnât have enough money. When I went home to ask for money, I argued with Yvonne. I ended up failing to get the money and was scolded by my father. I had to live frugally and later borrow the books from my classmates. There was a 24âhour library at the University of Moulmore, I would copy the books there all night long in order not to affect the rest of the students in the dormitory. When I got tired. I laid my head on the table for a short rest. One day, Gwenâs mother, Professor Janelle Carey, sow me. She was worried that buying new books for me would hurt my selfâesteem, so she sent someone to ask those graduated students to send me the books I neededâ
âSo, thatâs why you are close with Ms. Carcy!â Clayton piled up the last book
Isabella shook her head and slowly raised her hand. Under the sunshine, there was a shallow scar on her wrist. Isabella said calmly. âWhen I had the most difficult time, I thought of dying. It was Gwen who sent me to Professor Carey and saved me. Gwen said Grandpa and Mom were watching me from heaven, so I couldnât make thein sad.â
She stood up. Clayton embraced her feeling depressed about what she had been through.
âClayton, am I useless? Tâm always being bullied and disrespected⦠Isabella felt desperately helpless, thinking, âMy plan was always unrealized. I couldnât even protect myself. How could I inherit Sorenson Multimedia, leit by Grandpa and Mom? How could I make Sorenson Multimedia bigger and stronger?
âLittle girl, you have me from now on. Your mom and grandpa will watch over you in heaven. In the future, Ell accompany you to achieve your dreams and goals. No one will bully you again!â Clayton pressed Isabellaâs head against his chest,
He would never let anyone bully her again. He would help her take revenge against anyone who had bullied her.
Isabella looked up at him and slowly reached to touch his face, but she stopped halfway. She smiled with tears in her eyes
His words were sweet and warm, which she had never heard before. She wanted to touch him, but she was afraid it would all vanish after the touch.
She was not used to owning something, so she was slightly panicky and insecure about him.
Even her biological father and her fiance, whom she had been in love with for many years, did not value her. She did not think such a man she randomly niet should be nice to her. She could not believe all that was real.
She told herself, âIsabella, you must guard your heart this time. Donât let yourself get hurt or destroyed again!
