CHAPTER 63
Goodbye Cheater Hello CEO’s Wife
Chapter 63
âChanning, call Clayton and ask him to come back,â Jennie urged.
Channing leaned against the couch and said, âNah, do it yourselfâ
âJust do as youâre told, brat!â Calvin showed off his authority over Channing.
Jennie was displeased, as Calvin dared not to make the call himself and delegated it to Channing instead..
Still, she persuaded, âWhy are you giving him a hard time? Heâs like a mouse encountering a cat when he sees Clayton.â
Calvin glared at Channing. âHow useless!â
Jennie secretly sneered before saying with a smile, âEnough. Go wash up and have breakfast.â
Calvin descended the steps and went to change his clothes with a sullen face.
Jennie asked the three children, âItâs your day off. Whatâs your plan?â
Channing replied, âIâm going to sleep after eating. Donât wake me up no matter what happened.â He got up and walked to the dining room
after that.
Mandy, on the other hand, sat beside Jennie and held the latterâs arm. âMom, letâs go shopping together and buy us some more clothes.â
Jennie let Mandy hold her as she responded, âIâve no problem with that. But you have to promise me that you wonât go to Rayson International in the future, nor will you bother Clayton.â
âSure! Youâve said that a thousand times, Mom. Remember, the more you nag, the older you get,â Mandy promised as she leaped from her
seat and ran to the dining room.
âIâve told you many times, but you never listen.â Jennie shook her head and sighed.
As she dragged Queenie up from the seat and walked toward the dining room, she deliberately stepped back and asked, âWhat happened when you girls went to Rayson International?â
Queenie whispered, âThe receptionist said no one could see Clayton without an appointment. Mandy made a scene and broke an ornament but still failed to see Clayton. I heard that Clayton seems to be not in Moulmore recently.â
Jennie didnât respond and thought, âNo one can see you without an appointment, huh, Clayton? How about your dad, then?â
Shortly after, Calvin, who had dressed up, went downstairs and looked at the crowd at the dining table. âLetâs visit the Maguire manor tomorrow. Weâve been here for some time. Itâs time to visit Mr. Maguire.â
A thought flashed across Jennieâs mind. With a smile, she agreed, âSure. Letâs take the children there.â
Calvin nodded.
It was already ten oâclock at night when Isabella finally got through to Gwendolyn.
âGwen, you finally answered the phone. Iâm so worried,â Isabella breathed a sigh of relief.
âDonât mention that jerkâs name, Isabella,â Gwendolyn warned angrily.
âAll right. I wonât mention it. Are you okay?â isabella hurriedly comforted her.

âyeah,â Gwendolyn replied dully.
âAre you at home now?â Isabella asked cautiously.
âYes. That jerk just left. Isabella, I met a pestering guy Gwendolyn sounded utterly helpless.
Isabella was at a loss for words.
âThat jerk wanted me to be his girlfriend. Do you think this is my karma? I disdained him for being too beautiful, so fate sent him to me,â Gwendolyn added.
Isabella chuckled. âBack then, you said you wondered how his girlfriend would feel when facing his face every day.â
âShut up. I donât want to be his girlfriend,â Gwendolyn said firmly.
âDonât be his girlfriend then. Iâll support whatever you decide to do.â Isabella showed her loyalty.
âHow can there be such a person in this world? Heâs stubborn, unyielding, selfârighteous, and always does things on his own accord. Argh. Iâm so annoyed!â Gwendolyn screamed in frustration,
Isabella predictively kept the phone away from her ear when Gwendolyn screamed.
After Gwendolyn vented her anger, Isabella said, âLet me tell you something, Gwen. He doesnât like to be called beautiful and will get angry.â
Gwendolyn, momentarily stunned, asked, âReally?â
Tyes, I tried before. He was pissed off when I said he was beautiful.â Isabella spoke affirmatively.
âLet me try it tomorrow,â Gwendolyn said seriously.
âTomorrow?â Isabella was confused.
Gwendolyn lamented, âThat guy said heâd pick me up every day.â
âUntil you agree to be his girlfriend?â Isabella asked.
Gwendolyn paused before answering weakly, âHe said I was already his girlfriend, so he didnât need my permission and decided it himselfâ
Isabella was rendered speechless.
âClayton and Victor are indeed good buddies,â she thought.
Meanwhile, Clayton came out of the bathroom with a towel loosely wrapped around his waist. There were water droplets on his bare
He deliberately came out like that to tease Isabella, She would bury her face in the blanket every time she saw him like that, and he loved her
shy look.
But now, Isabella was leaning on the couch in her white nightgown with a silly look and ignored him.
It displeased him.
He scooped her up, which made her let out a shriek of fright and subconsciously wrap her arms around his neck.
Her action had pleased him, and he became happy. âWhat are you thinking about, Mrs. Murray?â

Isabella answered blankly, âVictor
Her lips were kissed domineeringly the next second, and his calloused hands reached underneath her shirt.
Isabella gasped, leading to a more domineering kiss and caress.
Finally, he let go of her. She struggled to catch her breath like a fish out of water.
Putting her hands on Claytonâs chest, she looked at him pitifully and confused as to why he got so angry suddenly.
Clayton pointed at her head and stared at her intently. âDonât think about another man.â
Isabella wondered, âI didnât think about another man, did 17â
Her dazed expression made Clayton smile. This time, he kissed her gently.
It was a night filled with passion
Anyway, it was Sunday the next day. He didnât plan to let her go anywhere other than the bed.
On Sunday afternoon, Calvin took his family to visit the Maguire manor. Jerome was delighted and curious about Channing and Mandy, as there hadnât been any twins in the Maguire family yet.
He instructed, âHoward, go and check whoâs at home today. Get them to meet the guests.â
The butler, Howard Maguire, replied respectfully and left the living room.
When he returned, a man and a woman were behind him, which surprised the Murray family.
The man was charming and attractive, whereas the woman was young and beautiful
âOh? Just the two of you at home?â Jerome looked at them and asked with a smile.
âCome. This is Mr. Murray, Mrs. Murray, and their children. This is my son, Andrew, and my granddaughter, Colette,â Mr. Maguire introduced them to each other.
Andrew raised his eyebrow. He could tell who was standing before him and politely greeted them with Colette.
With a smile, Calvin said, âItâs been years. Theyâve grown up now Jennie, look. The children of the Maguire family are all goodâlooking. Andrew, Colette, this is my son, Channing, and my daughter, Mandy. They are twins. And this is my niece, Queenie. Young people like your guys should make friends with each other,â
Colette was about the same age as Channing, Mandy, and Queenie. Andrew, however, felt he had a generation gap with them, so he directly sat beside Jerome and made coffee for him.
Jerome asked Andrew, âWhere are your brothers and Carmelo?â
âEdmundâs gone to the office. Victor has gone out with Carmelo, probably taking him to play basketball.â Andrew made it up.
Jerome was unfazed.
Colette was a cheerful girl. After chatting with Channing, Mandy, and Queenie, she found that they were all students of the University of Moulmore. It was just that they were in different departments. Colette was a freshman in the computer science department, and the three siblings of the Murray family were all studying business management.

Jerome invited the Murray family to have dinner together. Calvin agreed after some pleasantries because he received a signal from Jennie to stay at the Maguire manor a little longer
As soon as they sat at the table, Victor returned with Carmelo
Jerome was happy. âGo change your clothes and join us for dinner.â
Victor and Carmelo hurried back to their rooms.
Jennie, Mandy, and Queenie looked in their direction in disbelief and exclaimed inwardly, âGosh! That man is so handsomel
Andrew was already very charming. When he showed up, Mandy and Queenie both blushed. In truth, Jennie had hinted to Calvin to stay for dinner because she had an ulterior motive
Andrew and Colette were too outstanding, Jennie had noticed her childrenâs expressions, so she wanted to stay there to strengthen both familiesâ relationships.
As for the duo who had just shown up, she thought Carmelo was still a teenager and had yet to get attractive.
Victor, on the other hand, had an even better appearance than Andrew. She had never seen such a handsome man before.
Their reaction made Jerome very proud. For him, the greatest pride in his life was not Maguire Groupâs business empire but his extraordinary children and grandchildren,
Therefore, flattering the greatness of Maguire Group would not make him as happy as praising his children and grandchildren.
When Victor and Carmelo joined them for dinner, Jerome introduced them to the Murray family.
He then said to Calvin, âVictor and Clayton are best friends and always stick together. Rayson International has been doing better in the past few years, and Clayton has rarely come here since then.â
Calvin hurriedly said, âDonât mention that brat. Weâve been here so long, and he hasnât even come home or looked at us. His mother died early, and it was Jennie who brought him up. Yet, this ungrateful brat never cares about Jennie.â He shook his head as he spoke.
Victor, who had been silent, suddenly said, âClayton has been admitted to the hospital for a month due to a car accident.â
Everyone was stunned, especially Queenie. She looked at Victor nervously and wanted to ask, but she didnât want others to think less of her.
Jerome asked anxiously, âIs he seriously injured? How is he now?â
Victor replied calmly, âAndrew and I took turns to take care of him. He was already discharged from the hospital yesterday and should be on his way for a business deal now.â
He only looked at Jerome instead of Calvin and Jennie when he spoke. He was already fed up with the couple. No one knew better than him. how Clayton had been through all these years.
He couldnât believe they came from Nusridge to Moulmore to smear Clayton n
Jennie voiced out softly, âWhy didnât he tell us? Mandy and Queenie went to the company to look for him two days ago but didnât even hear about it.â
Her words implied that the heartless Clayton had distanced himself from them, not that they didnât care about him. She would never take the blame for Clayton.
Victorâs cold eyes flickered as he explained, âRayson International has an important collaboration now, and the competition
nis cutthroat. If

the opponents know heâs injured, they will surely snatch the project away. Thatâs why he blocked the news. Many people pretend to be his relatives and want to see him throughout the year.â
His lazy voice carried a hint of disdain, which made Jennieâs cheeks flush.
Queenie finally snapped out of shock and asked timidly, âIs Clayton seriously injured?â
âHe had broken three ribs, but heâs fine now,â Andrew chimed in. The tacit understanding between the brothers of the Maguire family was beyond comparison.
