Alec’s CHAPTER 61
Alpha Alec's Redemption

Alec.
âWhat do you mean?â I ask in genuine confusion.
Have you ever been told something and for some f**g reason it just doesnât click in your head? You can hear the words, but you simply canât **g grasp them? That was me right now.
As if I didnât already have my f**g plate full, and now this?
âExactly what I said, Alpha,â Gabriel, one of the eldersâ sighs. You can hear the tiredness in his voice. âWe were attacked last night, and a lot of our pack members, especially the warrior, are severely injured.â
F**k! Why the hell was this happening? Especially right now when I am thousands of miles away
away from my pack.
Despite what he told me, I was grateful to the moon goddess that no one died. He didnât have to tell me that no one died. I would have felt it if any pack member died. Their link to me as their alpha would be cut off, and I would have felt that.
I donât know what I would have done if Iâd felt any of them die while I wasnât there to protect them.
âWhy wasnât I informed yesterday, Gabriel?â I question, feeling my temper rise. âWhy did you wait till now? You
know I could have pushed my energy through the link. It would have f**g helped.â
âWe are sorry Alpha. When we realized that the pack was under attack, we thought it was just a rogue attack as
usual, only it wasnât.â
What the f**k was he talking about? We rarely get attacked by rogues. Other alphas know to steer clear of my pack. Unless they somehow found out that we were weakening.
âWhat do you mean?â I push to get the answers that were nagging at me.
I could feel Sadieâs eyes on my back, but right now what Gabriel was telling me was more important.
âIâve never seen creatures like those. Their speed, their strength and their aura are like nothing Iâve ever witnessed before. It was nearly impossible to defeat them.â
Racking my head, I try to think of anything or any creature Iâve read in the old texts while trying to come up with a solution for the curse, but there isnât. The supernatural only consists of three creatures. There has never been mention of any new species.
Gabriel continues, his voice h**e. âWe didnât even make a dent in their small army. Personally I think they can to test our strength. After they literally wiped the ground with our faces, they left. The didnât take anything kill anyone, or demand anything. They simply left as they came. They smelled like werewolves and some
vampires. Iâm not really sure, I was just too focused on keeping the pack alive.â
âAnd youâve never encountered such creatures, before?â I ask, feeling panic course through my body.
âNever.â He simply states.
Running a hand through my hair, I start pacing the room. Sadie is quiet the whole time and that does nothing to ease my anxiety.
Like I said, I feel like the goddess is punishing me for my crimes against Sadie. Otherwise, why does it seem like things started falling apart the moment I unjustly imprisoned her?
There are those that believe that the goddess always punishes those that betray or hurt their mates. I didnât kno Sadie was my mate back then, but she was innocent. Karma was truly a f**g b**h.
âI donât want to bring this up and worry you more, Alpha Alec, but the pack needs its alpha. The wounded arenât healing, and other members have started noticing. Your presence may not do much, but maybe it can give them the strength to fight. Especially for those who are in ICUâs.â
F**k it! Can this get any worse?
âSend me my jet,â I breathe, trying to calm myself down so I can at least think clearly. âAnd tell the pack their alph is on the way.â
Being rich and having your own private jet comes in handy. When I realized that Sadie was my mate and I would b staying here for some time, I told my pilot to go back home.
âOn it Alphaâ
With that, he hangs up the phone. I pull mine from my ear and just stare at it for a minute before pushing it into my pocket.
âI need you in Sadieâs office,â I briefly link Micah and Jason.
Once thatâs done, I close my eyes and reach out to the bond that tethers me to my pack. Once I find it, I push all my strength and power into it. When Iâm done, Iâm weak at the knees, so I have to sit in order not to embarrass myself by face planting on the carpet.
Feeling her eyes on me, I look up and find her head tilted, staring at me in an intense way.
âWhat?â I ask. Staring into her eyes brings the bond to life.
She looks away mumbling, âNothing
The bond, as always when Iâm around her, is trying to pull the strings. Itâs pushing me to go to her and pu

my arms.
How cruel can life be? I messed up with my mate, way before I even had a chance with her. How the hell am I supposed to fix what I did to her?
There is a knock on the door before it opens, breaking the spell that had woven itself around us. Micah and Jason walk in, their eyes searching the room before they finally land on me.
âWhat is it? You didnât sound okay when you linked us,â Micah says as he approaches me.
Without wasting time, I dive into what the Elder told me. It doesnât take that long to fill them in, but when Iâm done, they are just as worried as I am.
âF**k, and he has no idea what they are?â Jason asks as he paces the room.
âNoâ
âHe said that he also smelled vampires. Does that mean theyâve teamed up?â Micah observes, his finger tapping his chin. He always does that when he is thinking. âCould it be that there is another pack similar to Sadieâs? One that includes all species?â
âI donât think thatâs the case. He mentioned how powerful they were. Simply being in a pack doesnât turn you into an indestructible being,â I point out.
Jason, stops pacing and faces us before adding, âMaybe they had a magic boost. I mean witches have been known to boost other peopleâs strength at a certain price.â
âThat might be a possibility,â Micah agrees, his eyes still thoughtful.
As we dive into whatever it is the creatures are, Sadie is completely forgotten. I donât know how long it was before she clears her throat, making us turn to her.
âIf you are all done running around like headless chickens with your s**d theories, maybe I can provide some help,â
,â she drawls, leaning back against her chair.
She now had our full attention.
âWhat do you mean? Do you know what they are?â Micah asks, hopefully.
Sadie had been right. We had been going around in f**g circles. Though Iâm not sure why she didnât say anything the whole time she heard us brainstorming. Maybe she liked seeing us squirm.
She releases a breath, before answering âAs a matter of fact I do.â
âThen what the hell are they?â I ask in a taut and crisp tone, a clear evidence of my frustration.
Chapter 61
âThey are hybrids.â
She drops the bomb that neither of us saw coming.
