Chapter 456
Tasting All My Mates
456-Welcome Back, Mother Maynardâs POV:
Ever since I didnât take Enyaâs side and relied on my silence, I ruined all my chances with her. She told me she would accept me in a heartbeat, something I have craved like a child craves attention, yet when the time arrived, I f*cked up.
I wish I had looked past all the stuff Christina has told me and her sacrifices and just accepted Enya.
Look at me now, I am going crazy thinking Enya will be in bed with that Lycan.
How could I be so dumb?
âI didnât have to sacrifice in order to pay Christina back for all the times she made it seem like she gave up herself for me.â I spoke to May, who had been accusing me of ruining our chances with Enya.
âI wish we had not listened to Christina at all.â He reminded me once again of who had become the problem.
âShe told me I could be with Enya, so I did just that. I slept with Enya, only for Christina to say she doesnât want it anymore and my d*mba*s didnât even see the red flags she waved in my face.â I was walking toward our bedroom to have a word with her. Itâs been days since Theo exposed her, and we havenât talked. I didnât even sleep in the same bedroom as she did.
The thing that bothered me was that when Enya rejected me on my wedding day and slapped me, it didnât hurt my ego. But then Christina found out about it, and she kept telling me how disrespectful Enya was to me. I still didnât think of it, but then she used that excuse in front of Enya and made it seem like I took revenge on her for that slap.
âMy only fault was not holding Enyaâs hand when she needed me the most,â I grumpily muttered while reaching the room. Before I could even barge in, I heard her on the phone.
It took me by surprise because she was mentioning Enyaâs name. Not only that, she was lying.
âShe seduced Maynard!â I heard her talk about us and spread false news once again, and this time I just lost my mind.
I couldnât get myself to stand here and let her lie in Enyaâs name anymore.
âWhat the f*ck?â I yelled and slammed the door open. She panicked after watching me and hung up instantly.
âWere you lying to Lazlo?â I yelled at her. My heart seemed to be pounding and throbbing in my temples. She looked petrified, too, which she should be.
âI was telling the truth,â After grabbing all the strength she could muster, she yelled back at me.
âThe truth? Do you want me to remind you of the truth?â I took a step closer to her, making her step back and drop her phone.
âThe truth is that you told me I could be with her. You said I can sleep with her, and later I can accept her. You said you would be okay with her being my mate as well. But then you started changing your statements and backing away from your promises. You flooded me with guilt and reminded me of what you had done for me over and over again until I went mute, like a dumb a*shole. You know what I am beginning to think? You are jealous of Enya. You just hated her because everybody loved her.â Every word that I spoke made her eyes grow bigger, and a gasp heaved across her lips.
âI am jealous of Enya?â She asked me in a whisper, big tears flowing down her eyes, but they didnât bother me anymore. Christina had become so good at shedding tears that now I could no longer tell when she was genuinely hurt.
âYou are.â I nodded, âI am not jealous of her. What does she have that I donât haveâ,â she cried, screaming as she displayed her hatred for Enya by acting like a maniac.
âOh, you are not ready to hear that,â I scoffed, laughing at me for losing a gem like Enya.
âThen why did you accept me? Why did you never change yourself for her, but you changed yourself for me?â She stopped crying just so that she could yell at me.
âWhen did I ever tell you that I changed for you?â I asked in a peaceful tone, and her body turned lifeless. She dropped her hands to the side of her body and kept staring at my face cluelessly.
âI did it because I wanted to show Enya I can be trusted now,â I explained. âI am guilty of dragging you along, but you are not a saint either. I told you many times, even before our mating ceremony, that I was not into you. But you kept telling me it would be fine and that I would forget Enya in no time.
Sorry! But it didnât happen. I still remember her to this day. I feel for her and Iâ,â I stopped when she lunged at me and placed her hand on my mouth to silence me.
âDonât say it,â she whispered in tears.
I pushed her hand away from my mouth and shook my head at her, warning her to stop interrupting me.
âYou cannot stop me anymore. I love her!â I announced, making her drop to her knees and start crying.
âDonât do that to me,â she screamed, crying on her knees. I have made up my mind now. I wonât be falling for her emotional blackmail anymore.
She did it all for her brother and told us she was doing it for us.
âIt is over now, Christina,â my soft murmur compelled her into raising her head and looking at me with big teary eyes.
âNo!â she mouthed. âPlease no,â her request was not tempting at all. I figured she hated Enya because Enya had what she didnât have.
Love!
Power!
Mates!
âI, alpha Maynaâ,â before I could finish the rejection, the door behind me opened and someone unfamiliar entered the room.
âWhat is going on? Why is my daughter crying?â A lady in all black looked straight at Christina and asked. Christina got up from her spot and rushed into the womanâs arms, who was seemingly her mother.
