Chapter 92
Rejected Slave To The Alpha
Chapter 92.
Nellyâs POV.
I started to scream, my eyes still closed. The car came to a sudden stop, and | almost hit on the dashboard. | slowly opened my eyes, my beard beating and the lady was gone.
âWhat just happened?â | asked, my voice trembling.
âLet's go check,â Kex said, his voice low and serious.
my head | unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door, stepping out onto the pavement. But | froze as soon as | saw what was in front of me. There, on the street, was the lady, unconscious.
| held my breath as | knelt down beside her, gently rolling her over onto her back. | let out a sigh of relief when | saw that she wasn't bleeding. | looked up at Kex, who was standing a few feet away. His expression was unreadable, his eyes dark and stormy.
âLet's take her to the car,â | said, my voice shaking. âWe canât just leave her here. She needs help.â
âNo! We aren't taking this stranger with us,â Aisha said, shaking her hair.
âWhat!â | exclaimed, my jaw dropping as my gaze darted from Kex to Aisha.
âAishaâs right,â Kex said, his voice steady. âWe canât take a stranger along with us. Itâs too dangerous.â
âBut we canât just leave her here,â | replied, my voice rising. âSheâs hurt and she needs help. We canât just walk away.â
âYou're right, we canât,â Kex said, his voice uncharacteristically soft. âBut thereâs got to be another way. We need to think this through.â
âWe donât have time,â | said, my voice cracking. | looked down at the woman, her chest rising and falling slowly. âPlease, Kex, we have to do something.â He looked at me, his eyes full of conflict. Then, he nodded, his jaw set. But before Kex could leaned to help me lift her, Aisha spoke.
âMaybe her relatives are nearby,â Aisha said, irritation lacing her voice. | rolled my eyes.
âAisha, do you want this lady to die?â | asked, my tone sharp.
âNo,â she said, her voice rising to match mine. âBut we canât just take her with us. We're not far from the Astel pack, we can find a hospital there.â
âWe canât leave our responsibility for someone else;â | replied, my hands clenched into fists. âThis woman needs help, and we're the only ones who can give it to her.â
âWe didnât hit her,â Aisha argued. âWe weren't even close to her when it happened. Itâs not our fault.â âWe didnât hit her,â Aisha argued. âWe weren't even cl | took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
â| know itâs not our fault, but we canât just walk away from this. Itâs the right thing to do.â Aisha looked at me, her eyes filled with frustration.
âWhat if she gets us into trouble?â she asked. âWhat if her people think we kidnapped her?â | shook my head.
âSheâs hurt, Aisha. Thereâs no sane person that would think we are trying to kidnap her.â
âHow do you know?â she demanded. âFor all we know, a lady collapsed even before our car touched her.â
I stood up, my hands on my hips. âI donât know,â | said, my voice rising. âBut Iâm not willing to risk letting her die. Iâm not willing to be that person.â
Aisha looked at me her expression hard.
âWhatever,â she mumbled. Aishaâs eyes rolled back in her head, her expression clearly expressing her annoyance. | shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant.
Kex and | carefully lifted the woman and carried her to the car. Once we had her safely inside, | turned to Aisha, who was speaking to Harry in hushed tones. Harry patted her on the shoulder, a sympathetic expression on his face.
Awave of anger washed over me, and | let out a hiss. | entered the car, avoiding eye contact with Aisha. The tension was palpable as we drive.
| turned my gaze to the window, hoping to find something to distract me from the tension in the car. | tried to steady my breathing, to push away the anger that was bubbling up inside me.
Aishaâs behavior was maddening, and | couldnât understand why she was being so unreasonable. | sighed and squeezed my eyes shut, willing the frustration to go away. Then | felt a hand on mine. | turned to see Kex, his eyes filled with concern.
âIt's going to be okay,â he said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
| forced a smile onto my lips, but it felt stiff and unnatural.
â| know,â | said, my voice tight.
But the truth was, | wasnât sure if everything was going to be okay. Aishaâs reaction had rattled me, and | wasnât sure how to move forward. Kex seemed to sense my unease, and he reached out to put his arm around me.
| rested my head on his shoulder, allowing myself to relax for a moment. Even though | was still angry, | felt comforted by his presence. | knew | would have to face Aisha eventually, but for now, | just wanted to rest.
We arrived at the pack house, and | carried the woman to the pack doctorâs office. | could feel Kex at my side, his presence reassuring me. The doctor examined the woman, and after a few minutes, he turned to us.
âShe's fine,â he said, his voice calm and soothing. âShe just fainted from shock. She'll be okay with some rest.â
| felt a rush of relief, and | let out a sigh. | knew it was nothing serious, but it was still a relief to hear the doctor confirm it. But as |
turned to leave, | heard Aishaâs voice.
â| knew it was nothing serious,â Aishaâs voice echoed in the room.
| stopped in my tracks, a surge of anger rising within me. But before | could say anything, Kex squeezed my hand.
âLet it slide,â he whispered. | looked at him, torn between my anger and my desire to listen to him. Finally, | nodded, and together we left the doctor's office.
As we walked back to the house, | could still feel the tension in the air. | knew Aisha and | would have to talk eventually, but for now, | just wanted to put the whole incident behind me.
We sat down at the dining table, and the maids brought us food. Aisha was clinging to Harry, and she refused to look at me. |
couldnât blame her, but | also couldnât help but feel angry. She was being childish, and | didnât appreciate it.
| noticed someone staring at me, and | looked up to see-Kexâs eyes on me. | forced a smile, but it felt stiff and unnatural. Kex returned my smile, but | could tell he was also feeling tense. | focused on my food, trying to put the whole incident behind me.
Just as we were about to sit down to eat, a maid came running into the room.
âMa'am,â she said, out of breath, âthe lady is conscious now.â
| stood up, my appetite suddenly forgotten. Kex, Harry, and Aisha followed me as we made our way to the pack doctor's office.
When we got there, the lady was sitting up in bed, tears streaming down her face.
âWhat's wrong?â | asked, my voice gentle. But her next words made my heart stop.
