Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 17
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 17
Cassandra and Orlando exchanged glances wordlessly. Then, he got out of the car, and they entered the house and returned to the bedroom one after another.
His unhappiness was written all over his face, and the atmosphere was rather solemn.
With the door and windows of the room being closed, the smell of cigarettes and alcohol on Orlando was extremely strong, making Cassandra uncomfortable. She asked in a low voice, âDo you wanna take another shower?â
âWhat do you mean by that? You think Iâve already taken a shower outside?â he questioned.
âAm I wrong?â she quizzed.
Orlando frowned, answering flatly, âDo you have something against me? If so, you can tell me. Iâve told you I wonât do anything to betray this marriage.â
âWho knows if you have? Itâs not like Iâm with you every day,â Cassandra replied softly.
He stared fixedly at her. âYou wanna follow me around? Sure. How about we start tomorrow?â
âNo thanks. Didnât you already take a shower in the hospital?â she queried casually.
âWho told you I did? Thatâs a hospital, not a hotel. Do you think one can shower and stay there as they please?â he responded.
Candra fixed her eyes on him, mulling, âDid he really not? So, Rebecca lied?â
She murmured, âI called you tonight. Ms. Spencer answered it and told me you were showering and couldnât come to the phone.â
Rebecca told you?â Orlando questioned blandly.
Cassandra compressed her lips, thinking, âWhat does he mean by that? He thinks Iâve wronged Rebecca?â
âThereâs no need for me to lie,â she muttered.
âThatâs not what I meant,â Orlando said.
Not wanting to continue the subject, Cassandra said, âNo need to explain. Itâs getting late, so go take a shower. Iâm gonna rest.â

With that, she passed him and walked toward the bed.

Orlando narrowed his eyes, reached out, and tugged at her wrist with a little force. She then fell into his arms.
They were so close to each other that she could clearly hear his strong heartbeat and feel his firm chest.
Cassandra was well aware of how good his physique was, especially how his veins throbbed so vividly whenever they were pressed against each other during intimacy.
At the thought of this, Cassandra flushed.
She subconsciously struggled. âWhat are you doing? Let go.â
Orlando looked down at Cassandra and suddenly felt like teasing her. He remarked smilingly, âWeâre a couple. What else could I want to do?â
âWhat in the world is he saying?â she wondered.
Cassandraâs eyes widened. âHave you forgotten that weâre about to divorce?â
âBut we havenât yet, have we?â He closed in on her, his handsome face just inches away.
Cassandraâs cheeks immediately flushed as astonishment flashed in her eyes. âI donât want to,â she refused, looking resistant and reluctant.
Orlando narrowed his cold eyes, his expression deadpan. âAs long as weâre still married, you must fulfill your obligation as a wife.â
âH
we any different from being divorced now? Arenât you afraid that Ms. Spencer will find out and blame you being unfaithful to her?â she probed.
âThis is our business. What does it have to do with her?â he questioned.
âWhat doesnât? Isnât she the one you love?â she answered.
âCassandra, will you stop using Rebecca as leverage to escape reality every time?â He sounded displeased.
âHeâs upset because I mentioned Rebecca? Does he really love her so much that he canât even stand anyone talking about her? See? He cares so much about the person he loves, while Iâm just nothing to him,â Cassandra sneered selfâdeprecatingly on the inside.
She pursed her lips and mumbled, âSorry, it wonât happen again.â

However, her agreement did not please Orlando and instead made him incredibly frustrated.

The conflict between them did not get resolved, either. When Orlando came out of the shower, Cassandra had fallen asleep on her side. Looking at her gorgeous, delicate face, he furrowed his brow, pondering, âWhatâs with her these days? Sheâs getting increasingly grumpy. Is she no longer holding herself back since weâre about to get a divorce? Has her gentleness always been an act?â
this moment, a sudden realization struck himâhe truly knew nothing about Cassandra.
