Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 23
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 23
âWhat should I know?â Orlando asked in confusion.
Cassandra compressed her lips and cut to the chase. âWhere were you tonight? Didnât you say youâd return carly so we could see Grandpa Peter at the hospital together?â
âSomething urgent cropped up. I informed Mom,â he said.
âBut did you inform me?â she questioned.
Orlando frowned harder, having a stronger feeling that Cassandra had changed.
Every word that came out of her was an aggressive demand.
Having seen her gentle side, he was not used to this at all. âIf youâre being this way. because I didnât inform you, I apologize for overlooking it. It wonât happen again, all right?â
Cassandra said nothing.
Looking solemn, Orlando said deeply, âHow about you just tell me everything that upsets you now?â
âThis isnât about me being upset but how long you plan to deceive me,â she said.
âDeceive you?â he parroted.
Cassandra was beyond frustrated, thinking, âDoes he still want to deny it at this juncture?â
She said, âFrankly, you donât have to hide it from me since weâre divorcing. I hope your can be honest with me. Even if you want to accompany Rebecca in selecting wedding dresses for your future wedding, you can let me know. That way, I wonât call and bother you guys like a fool.â
Cassandra and Orlando were married, yet they didnât even have a picture together.
She could find no sign of them being a married couple other than the wedding certificate and their moments of intimacy in bed.
At the thought of this, her heart ached badly for the year she had stayed by him and for the upcoming end of their marriage.
She didnât regret falling in love with him, but she regretted why she did.

Chapter 23
Hastily, Cassandra lowered her head, not wanting Orlando to see the tears in her eyes. She didnât want to be the weaker party.
Yet, Orlandoâs eyes widened with shock. âSelecting wedding dresses? What on earth are you talking about?â
âYouâre sull not gonna admit it?â she asked.
âWhy should I admit something I didnât do? Cassandra, why have you become so unreasonable? You werenât like this before. Why are you so paranoid now?â Orlando loosened his tie and put his hands on his waist, his handsome face as cold as ice.
Chilliness and indifference radiated from him from head to toe.
He stared fixedly at her as his emotions became increasingly uncontrollable. âAre you making this up because you want a divorce as soon as possible?â
Cassandra looked up and stated while glaring, âRebecca told me herself that you two were selecting wedding dresses. Orlando, if youâre worried Iâll expose you in front of Grandpa Peter and your parents, then rest assured. Iâm not that despicable to stoop that low.â
As for how she was previously, that was because she had loved him too much. Now, however, his insistence on divorcing had let her realize how insignificant she was to
him.
She was merely behaving this way as a form of selfâprotection lest she got hurt so deeply that she lost all respect.
Finally, Orlando understood. âCould you have misheard? I purely accompanied her to buy some clothes to wear after she was discharged. I lent her my phone because she needed to call her former manager.â
âSo youâre saying Iâve accused Rebecca unjustly and deliberately slandered you two?â Cassandra questioned.
âI didnât say that,â he answered.
âBut thatâs what you think, no? I donât get it. Why is your phone always so coincidentally with Rebecca whenever I call you? If you donât wanna answer, I wonât call again,â she said.
She practically used up all her strength to say that. Her hands were tightly clenched under the quilt, for she feared she couldnât help crying.
Chapter 23
Orlandoâs deep gaze turned sharp and distant. He stared at her coldly and said in a harsh voice, âCassandra Jackson, are you purposely trying to pick a fight with me?â
