Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 25
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 25
âWhat does he mean by that? Is he explaining to me? But weâre about to divorce. Why does he still do these things that could make me misunderstand?â ruminated Cassandra, who genuinely couldnât understand what Orlando was thinking.
Nevertheless, in the face of his gentleness, she wavered.
A love that lasted for ten years couldnât just be gone in the blink of an eye as one wished. Even if she could endure the pain and suppress her feelings, those tender moments would still affect her.
Cassandra held her breath, tears welling in her eyes. She refused to let herself be affected. âWhy are you telling me these?â she asked calmly.
Orlando chuckled. âWhy do you think? If I donât explain to you, I probably wonât be able to enter the bedroom tonight again, and the housekeepers are likely gonna laugh at my predicament. So, Mrs. Quinn, can you trust me now?â
âWhy has it become my fault?â she thought.
Cassandraâs tone was indifferent as she said, âYou left by yourself. I didnât kick you out.â
âWhat else was I supposed to do? Stay and continue quarreling with you?â he countered.
âI wasnât trying to quarrel. You were the one-â she started.
He interrupted, âOkay, this matter is over. Letâs never bring it up again, all right?â
Since Orlando had said so, there was nothing else Cassandra could say.
Orlando added, âShall we visit Grandpa this afternoon? Iâll pick you up.â
Cassandra pursed her lips lightly. âMm.â
After hanging up the phone, Cassandra looked dazed, pondering, âWhat should I do with you, Orlando? Why are you still treating me the same even though weâre going to get divorced?â
Orlando still didnât love her; she would rather he be crueler so that she could give up on him entirely.
Meanwhile, Orlando went to the hospital.
Rebecca would be discharged tomorrow, so he was here to help her deal with the

paperwork.
After that was done, he returned to the ward and saw that Rebeccaâs manager, Sophia Kemble, was also present.
Rebecca was a singer. Because of Orlando and her knowledge of marketing, she thrived in the industry and had her representative work. However, due to being unconscious. for a year from the accident, she had virtually become nonârelevant in the entertainment circle now. Only a group of her old fans were still awaiting her return.
Seeing Orlandoâs arrival, Rebecca hurriedly smiled. âLandy, youâre here. Please give me some advice. Should I continue my career as a singer in my current state?â
Orlando was expressionless as he answered, âLetâs talk about it after you fully recover. Now, I have something to ask you.â
Sensing his apathy, Rebecca quickly told Sophia to leave first and asked softly when
only the two of them were left in the ward, âWhatâs wrong, Landy? Is this a when
health? Is something wrong?â
Her eyes were full of worry and panic.

Rebeccaâs clear, bronzed face was particularly wan and weak because of her frail body. People would instinctively feel sorry for her, especially with how she looked while tearyâeyed.
Orlando frowned slightly. âCassandra called me last night, and you answered it, right?â
Rebecca froze briefly, then comprehended that it was about yesterdayâs phone call.
Rebecca compressed her lips, looking aggrieved and regretful. âDid Cassandra say something to you? Sorry, it was my fault. I shouldnât have answered your phone without permission. I just thought that she wasnât an outsider, so-â
âRebecca, itâs not about what Cassandra said to me but what you said to her,â he said.
Rebecca lowered her head with tears in her eyes. âIâm sorry, Landy. I was too impulsive. Iâm really insecure because Cassandra has been with you for a year. Iâm afraid that youâll fall in love with her. Iâm sorry. Itâs all my fault. Please donât be mad, all right?â
Orlandoâs expression didnât look great, and his gaze was distant. He said coldly, âCassandra and I havenât divorced yet. We are still married. I thought you knew and also understood that we wonât get along like a divorced couple right now.â
Rebecca nodded remorsefully and promised that she would never do it again.

Yet, Orlando was still angry. âHave a good rest. Iâm going back to work. Iâll come pick you up when you get discharged tomorrow.â
Coldness flickered across Rebeccaâs face as she watched his retreating figure, and her expression also turned vaguely stony.

In the evening, Orlando drove to pick up Cassandra from work, and then they went to the hospital.
Peter was still unconscious, but his condition was normal and stable.
Gabriela was inwardly overjoyed to see them come together. âRest assured; Peterâs fine. If you two really worry about him, you should have a baby as soon as possible. As long as he becomes a greatâgrandfather, he will surely get better.â
Cassandra smiled stiffly, saying nothing.
Orlando, too, furrowed his brow. âMom, why are you saying this out of nowhere?â
âWhat do you mean âout of nowhereâ? Youâve been married for a year. It only took me two months to get pregnant with you back then. If a man canât get his wife pregnant⦠Tsk, tsk. What do you think others will think about you?â Gabriela noted meaningfully.
Cassandra dropped her head and didnât dare to make a sound, trying to keep herself out of this.
Frederick also cleared his throat, feeling a little embarrassed.
Orlando was the most helpless out of all of them. His face completely darkened, and he looked even more indifferent and speechless.
Yet, Gabriela pretended not to notice and turned to Cassandra. âCassie, be frank with me. Is there something wrong with Orlandoâs body, which is why youâre still not. pregnant yet?â
