Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 26
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 26
Cassandra was stunned.
What was she supposed to say?
Not knowing what to do, she could only purse her lips and look at Orlando. The latter seemed to have sensed her asking for help, but he did not intend to help her. He just said nonchalantly, âCassie, Mom is asking you. You should clarify it for me or Iâll be misunderstood.â
His deep gaze fell upon her. There seemed to be a glint of joy in his eyes.
What did Orlando mean by that? Heâs clearly dragging me into this, she thought.
Cassandra pursed her lips in embarrassment and could only reply calmly, âMom, since Grandpa Peterâs fine, Iâll leave with Orlando. Weâre going for a movie together.â
Then she pulled Orlando and walked out. Gabrielaâs voice sounded behind her. âYour grandpa will wake up in joy right away if he knows youâre going on a date.â
Cassandra
didnât let go of Orlando until she got in the car.
He looked sideways at the woman beside him and asked in a low voice, âWhat movie. are we going to watch?â
âI was lying to Gabriela,â Cassandra replied indifferently.
âDidnât you say not to lie?â Orlando questioned..
âIt was a white lie. She wonât blame me even if she finds out,â explained Cassandra.
âA white lie?â Orlando stared at her. âSo what are you trying to imply?â
Frowning, Cassandra realized what he meant. âI didnât mean to imply anything. I didnât say anything. Donât overthink.â
âOkay, I wonât overthink. There are only two of us now. Can you tell me if thereâs anything wrong with my body?â he asked selfârighteously.
âItâs your body. How would I know?â She quickly turned around, not wanting to keep this conversation going.
Even so, Orlando made her feel like he wouldnât let her go if she didnât answer him.

He even reached out and turned her around, forcing her to face him. Then, he looked. into her eyes and asked, âYouâre my wife. No one else knows if you donât.â
Her cheeks flushed, and she looked away.
She wondered, âWhat does he mean? Has he not slept with Rebecca before?â
Cassandra pursed her lips lightly. Her action made Orlandoâs gaze grow deeper. Her muffled grunt and murmur when he kissed her, and her voice when she begged for mercy appeared in his mind. His breathing also became heavier.
Just then, the phone rang, and he was completely brought back to his senses.
It was Cassandraâs phone.
The call was from Michael.
When Orlando saw the name on the screen, his expression turned extremely grim.
Cassandra didnât notice it and answered the phone in front of him, âHello, Michael.â
Her voice was as gentle as the time when she spoke to him back then. Nonetheless, she was like a hedgehog now, acting defensively against him.
He had no idea what Michael told her, but a faint smile crept across her face. Orlando felt irritated by that sight.
Not knowing what was on his mind, he said in a low voice, âCassie, since Mom thought we were going on a date, letâs stay outside tonight?â
Stunned, Cassandra looked up at Orlando.
Michaelâs voice sounded in her ear. âCassie, are you with him?â
Cassandra hummed in a low voice.
Michael questioned, âYouâre getting a divorce. Why is he doing this?â
Cassandra had no idea, too.
âYeah, weâre divorcing. Why is he always acting like nothing has happened? Heâs unbothered is it because he doesnât care at all?â she mused.
Thinking of this, she felt extremely awful.
She seemed to be more clearâheaded and calmer. âMichael, thatâs all for now. Letâs talk

about the rest in the company tomorrow.â
After hanging up the phone, Cassandra looked at Orlando. âLetâs go home. Itâs not a good time to watch a movie.â
âWhy is it not a good time?â he asked.
âIt was just an excuse. You donât have to take it seriously.â Her voice was soft.
âCassandra, are you afraid that Michael will misunderstand something?â he questioned.
Cassandra frowned. âWhy would you think so? Didnât you say not to get others involved. in our affairs?â
Orlando stopped talking. He stepped on the accelerator and drove very fast.
The atmosphere was extremely silent all the way.
Cassandra felt aggrieved, too. She did not say anything wrong, so she wondered why he was unhappy.
Although they didnât ignore each other like the night before, everyone in Dustmeadow Mansion could sense that Orlando was in a bad mood.
Naturally, Cassandra would not appease him. She had figured out it was better to endure the pain now than to suffer for a long time. She would be obsessed with him. again after comforting him. It would be better if she just remained this indifferent.
The cooperation between Cassandra and Hawley Real Estate was able to go on because of Orlando.
The two companies officially signed a cooperation agreement that day. Hawley Real. Estate also explained the previous incident, âMs. Jackson, Iâm really sorry. I didnât expect you to be from the Jackson family and Mr. Quinnâs good friend. You shouldâve told me earlier, and those misunderstandings wouldnât have happened.â
Cassandra merely smiled faintly.
Only both families and their close friends knew about her marriage with Orlando. It had been kept secret from the public. She just didnât expect Orlando to tell others they were very close friends.
Although there was nothing wrong with that, she still felt a little sad.
Chapter 26
After resolving the situation, Cassandra had lunch with Michael. He asked, âSince you and Orlando are going to divorce, will you stay in Broburgh?â
âNo, Iâll leave after the divorce. You can stay and take care of the companyâ¦â she replied.-
âCassie, Iâve told you that Iâll follow you everywhere. If you want to keep the company, Iâll arrange for someone to manage it. If you donât, letâs close it down then,â suggested Michael.
âWe have to keep it. We canât let them lose their jobs,â said Cassandra.
Cassandra never thought that the company would fall apart if she left. It was unfair to others.
âWell, Iâll do as you say. Have you decided on the date to file the divorce? As long as you go back and leave here, youâre still the same person as you were before.â Michael stared at her, waiting for her reply.
Cassandra replied calmly, âIt hasnât been decided yet. Grandpa Peter still canât accept it. I canât hurt him no matter what.â
Cassandra had been staying in the company all day. These days, it was obvious that she had lost weight, as she had been eating very little every meal. Most of the meals were light, and she couldnât take greasy or spicy food at all.
In the evening, it was Michael who sent her back to Dustmeadow Mansion.
Although she had to trouble him, it wasnât safe for her to drive since she hadnât been able to concentrate well lately.
The car stopped steadily in front of Dustmeadow Mansion. Cassandra was about to unbuckle her seat belt, but she had just touched it and had yet to do so.
Bang!
With a loud noise, a huge force hit from behind.
In the car, they leaned forward and bounced back because of inertia. Fortunately, she had her seat belt buckled and was not injured, but she was frightened.
Cassandra sat there in a daze, subconsciously covering her abdomen with both hands. She thought worriedly, âBaby, you must be scared.â
Michael noticed Cassandraâs action but thought she was injured. He hurriedly asked, âCassie, are you okay?â

Cassandra took a deep breath. She was terrified, but she believed her baby would be
fine.
She shook her head. âIâm fine. Letâs get down and see what happened.â
They got out of the car and saw a familiar black car.
Michael subconsciously looked at Cassandra, who was staring at the man in the driverâs
seat.
His head hung low and his back hunched. âWhat happened to him?â she wondered.
Cassandra walked over and opened the car door directly. She whispered, âOrlando?â
