Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 27
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 27
Only then did Orlando respond and reply in a hoarse voice, âYes.â
He sat up straight and looked at Cassandra as he asked softly, âSorry, I suddenly felt a little uncomfortable in my heart and didnât stop the car in time. Did I scare you?â
With a complicated expression, Cassandra looked at him and wondered, âDid he really hit the car because he couldnât stop the car in time? Not because of something else?â
Soon, Cassandra stopped probing further. He didnât love her, so it couldnât be that he was jealous.
She responded calmly, âIâm fine. Whatâs wrong with your heart?â
âNothing. Probably because Iâve been working intensely without taking a break. Iâll be fine after a while,â assured Orlando.
He looked slightly pale.
Cassandra said, âThen go in and have a rest.â
âCan you help me up?â he requested in a low voice, looking at her with expectation.
His gaze was so gentle that she could not say a word.
Cassandra was stunned. Before she could say anything, Michael came over. âMr. Quinn, do you need help? Cassie isnât as strong as me. Let me help you.â
Their unfathomable, deep eyes met. Neither of the two men intended to give in.
If oneâcould kill with their gaze, a war wouldâve already begun at the moment.
Orlando didnât move as he withdrew his gaze and said indifferently, âMr. Collins, thank you very much. But Iâm not used to having any contact with strangers, so let my wife do
it.â
Staring at Cassandra with his blue eyes, Orlando said, âCassie, help me up. Donât trouble Mr. Collins. What do you think?â
Cassandra stared at Orlando before her. For a moment, she felt Orlando was somewhat different. She had never seen him like this before.
He was quite pretentious.

Seeing that she didnât say anything, Orlando added, âCassie, it must be tiring for Mr. Collins to drive you back. It wonât be nice if you keep troubling him, right? Besides, weâre a couple. I should thank Mr. Collins for taking care of you. How could I trouble him?â
âOkay, let me help you.â Cassandra pursed her lips and replied lightly.
Then she looked at Michael and said softly, âMichael, you can go back first.â
âOkay, Iâll go now. Call me if you need anything. Weâll talk about it tomorrow at the company,â replied Michael.
âWell, drive safely,â said Cassandra.
âTake care, Mr. Collins,â said Orlando.
Michael nodded before he got in the car and left.
After watching Michael leave, Cassandra reached out to help Orlando out of the car. Although she was not short among the ladies, she looked particularly petite in front of
him.
He put his hand on her shoulder as if he was holding her in his arms.
They remained silent and walked into the house.
Graham, who had been taking care of them all the time, exclaimed when he saw this.. âWhatâs wrong?â
Cassandra replied gently, âGraham, please call a doctor. Orlando said his heart doesnât feel well, which may be caused by fatigue.â
âOkay, Iâll make the call right away,â replied Graham.
âGraham, no need. Iâm fine and just a little tired. Iâll be fine after resting.â Orlando stopped Graham from calling the doctor.
Cassandra helped him sit on the couch and insisted, âOrlando, youâre feeling discomfort in your heart. Itâs not a trivial matter. Just call a doctor to check on you so that I can stop worrying, okay?â
âIâm truly fine. I just need to rest for a bit. Could you take care of me? I donât want others to come close to me. His voice was low and gentle, and he fixed his eyes on her.
Orlandoâs action had left Cassandra confused.

Chapter 27
She didnât know if she should feel happy or uneasy.
She was happy because he didnât regard her as someone else, but she felt uneasy because she was worried that she would fall for him again.
In the end, Cassandra didnât call the doctor and accompanied him upstairs to his bedroom.
Then she made some oatmeal and watched him finish it.
She had to admit that he always looked outstanding and handsome. Even his gesture. when he was having the oatmeal looked graceful.
Back then, Cassandra was also attracted by his looks at first sight. Thinking of the past, she could not help but smile.
She suddenly grew curious and looked at Orlando. âDo you remember the first time we met?â
âYes. Your grandpa took you to the Quinn manor and said he would marry you to me,â replied Orlando.
Orlandoâs face was slightly pale probably because he was unwell, but he still looked charming. Following his deep voice, the scene of that day also came to mind.
Before that, he had already known about the marriage of convenience with the Jackson family, and it was something that he could not refuse.
He was resentful, of course.
However, after seeing her, he felt that it seemed possible to live with her.
Orlando didnât know it wasnât the first time they had met.
Cassandra had already met him before she left the Jackson residence and went to the countryside. It was the encounter that led to such an unforgettable event in her life.
He remembered nothing about that. Looking down, she smiled bitterly. She was clearly aware that he only had Rebecca on his mind from beginning to end, so why would he have his eyes on someone else?
She was certainly a good example.
After falling in love with him, she could no longer love someone else.
Chapter 27
Cassandra gathered her thoughts before she asked, âOrlando, have you ever regretted this marriage?â
âWhy did you ask that?â He frowned.
âIf it werenât for our marriage, you wouldâve married Ms. Spencer by now, right?â She kept her head down.
Furrowing his brows, Orlando looked somewhat annoyed. âThereâre many things that we canât predict. Everything is bound to happen.â
Cassandra said, âIf you had the choice, would you still marry me?â
âWhat about you? Would you?â he questioned.
âMe?â asked Cassandra.
âWould you?â he repeated..
Cassandra smiled faintly. If she had the right to make every decision, she would have two choices. One was not to miss the chance when she first met him, and the other was that she would rather not get married if she had known the marriage would turn out like this
She wouldnât tell Orlando her thoughts, though. She would never tell Orlando how much she loved him.
She merely said indifferently, âMaybe yes, or maybe no.
Orlando frowned, his eyes reflecting an inexplicable dissatisfaction. âMaybe? What do you mean? Just give an exact answer.â
âWhat about you?â she asked rhetorically. She was the one who started this topic.
âIâve never thought about it, and I know thereâll never be such a possibility. So for me, everything thatâs happening now is fated. Since itâs already happened, is there a need for us to look into other possibilities?â he replied.
âYeah, since itâs already happened, weâd better not think about it anymore,â she thought.
After waiting for Orlando to finish the oatmeal and rest for a while, Cassandra finally went to turn on the water tap. âTake a shower. You need to see a doctor if you still feel unwell, okay?â
âAll right.â He was obedient and cooperative.

However, when Cassandra was about to go out of the bathroom, he grabbed her hand and said in a low voice, âWhere are you going?â
Take a shower first. Iâll go get changed,â replied Cassandra.
Actually, she was slightly tired and worried about the baby. She wanted to call her
friend to have some ideas about her situation.
Orlando asked, âWonât you help me?â
Cassandra was dumbfounded.
