Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 29
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 29
Cassandra shook her head and said, âMom, letâs go cat. Heâs busy.â
A trace of indifférence appeared on her face.
âWhy would he have dinner with me? He only wants to be with his sweetheart, Rebecca. Who am I to him?â she thought.
âHa!â Cassandra laughed at herself and felt inferior.
âOrlando is so determined that he does not love me. Why should I hold on?â she thought.
Gabriela was the one who booked the restaurant.
It was a highâend restaurant not far from the hospital and also an established store in Broburgh for many years.
They picked their table and ordered three dishes and a soup.
It was the first time they had dinner together alone, but there was no awkwardness. because Gabriela was a very gentle and chatty person.
She asked Cassandra, âHowâs work in the office? You can approach Orlando if you need. help. If you find it hard to ask him, come to me or Peter. We are on your side,â Gabriela
said.
Cassandra smiled and thanked her, âThank you, Gabriela. Itâs fine now. Orlando helped me out with some issues a few days ago.â
âReally?â Gabriela was a little surprised. Cassandra nodded and said yes, Gabriela added, âIt seems that he is not altogether incorrigible.â
Cassandra was slightly stunned, but Gabriela just smiled.
At this moment, the food was served.
The two of them were eating and chatting, and the atmosphere was harmonious.
The meal lasted for more than an hour. Both of them insisted on paying, but Cassandra. finally got to pay the bill.
Cassandra said, âGabriela, it is only right that I pay because I am younger. And because I treated you, it gave me the motivation to continue earning money.â

Actually, what she wanted to say was that she feared that it might be the last time she was treating her to a meal. Gabriela never mistreated her and had been really caring toward her.
That was why she wanted to do her part to care for her.
Gabriela naturally did not refuse anymore after hearing what she said. Instead, she smiled and said, âOkay, Iâll let my daughterâinâlaw treat me. But you have to treat me to meals more often in the future. I want to enjoy the benefits of being a motherâinâlaw.â
Cassandra smiled and said nothing, for she did not know if there would be a chance.
After paying the bill, Cassandra took Gabrielaâs hand and was about to walk out. At this moment, a gentle and sweet female voice suddenly came from behind them, saying, âLandy, you are so sweet. You actually remember what I like to eat.â
Cassandra and Gabriela both recognized the voice. They turned back and saw not only the woman who spoke but also saw the man beside her.
This was how the four of them bumped into each other.
Cassandraâs face froze a little, but she was emotionless because she was already numb.
Orlando was a little surprised, but he regained his composure in an instant and said, âMom, why are you here with Cassandra?â
âWhy? Did you reserve the whole place that I have no right to come?â Gabrielaâs tone was not courteous, and her gaze became fierce.
âMrs. Quinn, long time no see. How are you? I should have visited you at home earlier. But Landy was worried about my health, so we put it off until now. I hope you donât mind.â Rebecca lowered her head and spoke in a voice so gentle that no one could find
fault with her.
However, Gabriela did not show respect and asked indifferently, âYou donât have to come to the house. The Quinn family doesnât meet just anyone. By the way, Ms. Spencer, do you know the man next to you is already married?â
âMrs. Quinn, Iâ¦â Rebecca said.
Rebecca did not know how to react and looked at Orlando, who was beside her, instinctively.
However, Gabriela did not give her a chance to seek help.
Chapter 29
Gabriela was indeed gentle and never arrogant and domineering, but every word she said in her gentle voice could make someone really embarrassed.
Gabriela said, âWhy didnât you answer, Ms. Spencer? Is there something you canât tell? Or did you already know that he has a wife but you still want to cling on to him? If thatâs the case, youâre being indecent. If this gets out, it might tarnish your reputation. Donât you think so?â
Rebecca lowered her head and did not know what to say because Gabriela was so sharp. If it were not for her words, no one would have known Gabriela was questioning her.
Rebecca pursed her lips tightly, tugged Orlandoâs clothes while feeling aggravated, and said in a low voice, âLandy, Mrs. Quinn is right. It is my fault.â
Orlando frowned and looked at Gabriela, saying, âMom, letâs talk about it when we get home. Rebecca is still recovering; she should not be too worked up. Please donât be like
that.â
âWhat did I do wrong? Did I say something wrong?â Gabriela was so angry that she pulled Cassandra to her side. âWho is this? Tell me, who is Cassie to you?â
Cassandra did not respond the whole time, but she was stunned when she got pulled
over.
She thought, âDid my motherâinâlaw have to be so direct?â
She met Orlandoâs cold and indifferent gaze. She did not know if she was overthinking it, but she felt that he was blaming her.
âShould I not be here? Or did I put Rebecca in a tough spot?â she thought.
There was no interaction between the two. Gabriela said, âOrlando, donât forget that your Grandpa is still in the hospital. If you dare to mistreat Cassie, donât come back to the Quinn manor.â
Orlando did not know what to do with his mother. He knew that she was not as gentle as she seemed but was actually very domineering.
Gabriela added, âSo, have you thought about my question? Who is Cassie to you?â
Orlando looked gloomy and did not speak for a long time.
No one could guess what he was thinking at all.
Seeing this, Rebecca said softly, âMrs. Quinn, please donât force Landy. If you are angry

because of me, I will apologize to you. Itâs all my fault, Iâ¦â
âMs. Spencer, Iâm talking to my son. As an outsider and a bystander, donât interrupt me. Understand?â
Rebeccaâs face stiffened, and she was so humiliated she could not say a word.
Gabriela was satisfied and continued to ask, âOrlando, didnât you hear what I said?â
âCassandra is my wife. Are you satisfied with that answer now?â Orlando answered.
He seemed helpless and had no expression on his face. No one could tell what was going through his mind.
His answer shocked Cassandra, hurt Rebecca, and made Gabriela especially happy.
Gabriela looked at Rebecca with a smile and said faintly, âMs. Spencer, did you hear what he said? So, a girl who has selfârespect should not throw herself at a married man. This is such a shameless thing, donât you think so?â
Rebecca pursed her lips tightly with tears rolling from her eyes. She had to echo Gabrielaâs words and said, âMrs. Quinn, you are right.â
âNow that you understand, I donât have to say more.â She glanced at Rebecca coldly, then looked at Orlando and said, âLetâs go. Send Cassie and I home.â
Orlando did not move but said, âMom, you guys go ahead. Rebecca hasnât recovered yet. I have to send her back to the hospital.â
âMs. Spencer wonât mind it, and she would not get close to a married man. Ms. Spencer, donât you think what I said is correct?â Gabriela said.
âMrs. Quinn is right. Landy, donât bother about me. You should send Mrs. Quinn and Cassandra off,â Rebecca whispered to Orlando.
However, she looked at Orlando with expectations in her eyes, feeling sad and wronged. Their hands were tied and could not go against her when facing Gabriela.
After saying that and before Orlando could answer, she suddenly lost her balance and leaned to one side. Orlando swiftly held out his hand to hold her. Then, she fell into his
arms.
Cassandraâs eyes widened, and so did Gabrielaâs.
Cassandra did not expect them to be so intimate in public. She did not know how to

describe her feelings at the moment.
The pain in her heart was so intense that she could not breathe.
She narrowed her eyes and said coldly, âGabriela, letâs go.â
After saving that, she turned around.
Gabriela glared at Rebecca and Orlando angrily. She pointed to Orlando and said coldly, âYou are really a piece of work.â
Then, she hurriedly ran after her.
Orlandoâs eyes trailed after Cassandra. Rebecca, who was leaning against him, also glanced at her and asked in a low voice, âLandy, is Cassandra angry?â
