Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 44
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 44
Hearing Orlandoâs voice, Cassandra subconsciously looked up and locked gazes with his cold one.
When Cassandra noticed that his handsome face was full of displeasure, she felt somewhat confused. âIâm not eager. I just donât want to waste your time, so I came in advance and waited for you.â
âThe earlic, the better, right? Heâd be able to openly get together with Rebecca right away, I donât understand what heâs upset about, Cassandra thought.
But she didnât ask and just looked at him in silence.
Orlando glared at her like he was really unhappy. Just then, Rebecca came downstairs. She whispered, âLandyâ¦â
âOkay. He finally descended the stairs.
Then Rebecca added. âLandy, are you going to go through the formalities with her later?â
Cassandra ignored her and pretended not to have heard. She wasnât the one being asked anyway.
Orlando replied emotionlessly, âYesâ
It was almost like he was a man of few words.
Cassandra could sense that he was in a bad mood. After all, he was being so indifferent to his sweetheart.
It would be better if she just kept quiet.
Rebecca was very happy and asked, âLandy, shall we eat out tonight?
Orlando didnât refuse and just replied, âWeâll see. If I donât have any arrangements, Iâll get Taylor to pick you up, okay?â
âOkay.â Rebecca smiled and nodded.
Cassandra felt like such an outsider. It was so awkward.
Fortunately, Graham came to let them know that breakfast was ready.
About half an hour later, after they were done with breakfast, Orlando went out first and got in the car. Cassandra took her folder and followed after him quickly.
They were in the same car. Just before they were about to leave, Rebecca came over and bent down to peer through the window. She said, âLandy, Cassandra, I want to congratulate you both in advance for becoming single again. Cassandra, thank you for taking care of Landy for the past year on my behalf. Can we be friends?â
Cassandra didnât have any expression on her face as she glanced at Rebecca coldly. âMs. Spencer, do you enjoy being friends with your husbandâs exâwife? Iâm sorry. I have no interest in my exâhusbandâs current partner, so we are not going to be friends.
âCassandra, youâre overthinking it. You donât love Landy, and he doesnât love you either. You two got married just because you didnât want to upset the elders. So after the divorce, you can still be good friends, right? Besides, Landy will still be taking care of you. Since Iâll be marrying him, itâll become my duty as well. So, of course, we can be friends,â Rebecca replied.
âSorry, Iâm not that kindâhearted. You can do whatever you want, Ms, Spencer. With that, Cassandra wound up to block Rebeccaâs voice out.

Cassandra turned to Orlando and said, âOrlando, letâs go.â
Orlando didnât join in their conversation at all. After stepping on the accelerator and starting the car, he glanced at her lightly and said in an unclear tone. âRebecen wasnât being malicious. Why did you react so strongly?â
She replied. Tm just telling the truthâ
âWhat truth?â he asked.
âOrlando, I donât think we can still be friends after the divorce, let alone Rebecca. After all, wouldnât completely severing contact with each other after the divorce be good for both of us?â she retorted.
Most importantly, she hadnât gotten to the point where she could watch the man she loved be loveyâdovey with his sweetheart
A good exâwife should never have anything to do with her exâhusband again.
Orlando didnât say anything in response to that, just then, her phone rang.
When Cassandra saw the caller ID, she paused for a moment before rejecting the call.
Orlando saw all of that. âWhy didnât you answer the phone?â he asked indifferently.
âItâs not an urgent call. I donât have to take it, she simply replied.
Then, she looked out of the window.
It was Evelyn who called. Cassandra naturally knew why Evelyn was calling, which was why she didnât want to answer it.
However, right after she rejected the call, Evelyn called again. Cassandra expressionlessly turned off her phone.
Whatever it is, it can come after we finish the divorce proceedings, she thought.
Orlando asked, âWho was it?â
âMy mom,â she replied.
âWhy didnât you answer it?â he asked again.
Cassandra simply said, âShe doesnât want us to get a divorce, so it doesnât matter whether I answer her call or not.â
Orlandoâs gaze was full of understanding. He asked indifferently, âThe relationship between you and the Jackson family is not as good as it appears, right?â
âPretty much. Itâs neither good nor bad,â she replied shortly.
Cassandra didnât want to go into detail about it. During the year they had been married, Orlando never took the initiative to ask her about the relationship she had with her family, so now that they were going to divorce, there was no need to talk
about it.
Orlando naturally sensed the coldness in her voice. He glanced at her with a dark expression and said, âYour parents donât want us to divorce. If we do not get their permission, how will you face them in the future?â
âIâm an adult now. I can make my own decisions, so you donât have to worry about me. Cassandra gave a calm and respectable response without the slightest hint of emotion in her voice.
But Orlando interpreted it as her deliberately putting distance between them. His expression darkened further, and his deep eyes were also filled with coldness,

After that, they both fell silent.
Soon, the car stopped at the gate of the City Hall.
Once they passed through these doors, they would no longer have anything to do with each other when they came out nguá»n,
They kept silent tacitly. The atmosphere in the car was extraordinarily quiet, so much so that they could hear each otherâs breathing
Half a minute later, Cassandra piped up first, âOrlando, letâs go in.â
âYeah, he replied faintly.
Cassandra opened the car door and was about to get out when Orlandoâs phone suddenly rang.
He picked up the phone and asked in a low voice, âWhatâs wrong?
Cassandra didnât know what was said, but Orlandoâs face turned grim as he frowned deeply. Then he ended the call immediately, turned to look at Cassandra, and said, âRebecca is not feeling well. I have to go to the hospital now. Do you want to come with me?â
Cassandra frowned slightly and said, âCanât we go through the proceedings first?â
âCassandra, anything that goes wrong with Rebeccaâs health can become lifeâthreatening at any time. She is certainly more important to me than the divorce,â he replied.
Without waiting for Cassandraâs response, he directly stepped on the accelerator and sped off to the hospital.
The speed was so fast that Cassandra, who had unbuckled her seat belt, had to quickly fasten it again.
She glanced at his grim expression and thought, âAt this moment, he is already very worried about Rebecca. Postponing our divorce for her is an easy feat for him. After all, he said himself that Rebecca is more important!
Cassandra pursed her lips and remained silent until they arrived at the hospital.
But she didnât get out of the car and just said, âI wonât go. Iâll wait for you here.â
âAs you wish.â He glanced at Cassandra indifferently and then strode into the hospital.
She watched him leave as anxiety radiated from his body. She felt rather complicated.
It had been quite some time since Orlando disappeared into the hospital. She wondered if Rebecca was in a very serious condition.
