Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 55
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 55
Cassandra thought, Orlando really wanted to die. He knew that the wound would open, but he still did it. Is he crazy?
Since Cassandra found out about Orlandoâs car accident early yesterday morning, she had been feeling tense, and her emotions were the same. She wanted to handle it on her own, but he deliberately went against her wishes, relentlessly pressuring her natil she completely fell apart.
At this moment, she was in a bad mood and on the verge of tears.
Orlando also noticed it and wanted to say something, but Cassandra had already turned around and walked toward the door.
âTâll call the nurse.â After saying this, Cassandra opened the door and went out.
Soon, the nurse came in to check Orlandoâs wound and bandaged it again. Then, she specifically gave a reminder. âMr. Quinnâs wound must not split open again. Otherwise, it could harm the bone and require another surgery.
âOkay, I understand,â Cassandra answered indifferently, standing some distance away from the bed.
She sent the nurse away, and then she didnât continue to wipe his body. She just took the water to the restroom, poured it out, and washed the towel again.
Then, there was silence in the bedroom.
It was so quiet that the sound of a pin drop could be heard.
Orlando fixed his gaze on her, watching her walk to the couch, and sat down without paying any attention to him.
He said softly. âCassandra?â
She remained silent.
He added, âCassandra, Iâm thirsty. Can you get me a glass of water?
âNo. You can drink it when the nurse applies the ointment for you, lest your wound open again,â she said indifferently. without any intention of negotiating.
Orlando looked at her with a sullen face.
Orlando thought, I remembered Cassandra hardly ever got mad. Even if she did, a few words could easily comfort her. I could totally comfort her if I just eased up a bit. Thatâs why she hardly ever loses her cool. Even those recent spats werenât really fullâblown tantrums, so is this one of those agents?
Orlando didnât speak. After a long time, it became dark outside. Rebecca and Lloyd hadnât come back yet, and so did Taylor.
Cassandra thought, âShould I stay over tonight?â
Cassandra hadnât had her dinner, and her stomach was growling.
The atmosphere in the ward was too quiet, so Orlando could hear it clearly
Cassandra wanted to find a hole to crawl into. She thought, âThis is too embarrassing.
She pursed her lips and was at a loss.
Orlandoâs voice slowly sounded. âCassandra, havenât you eaten yet?â
Chapter 55
She remained silent.
He added, âAre you hungry!â
âNo,â she responded defiantly.
âI heard it.â he said.
She thought, What did he hear? My stomach growling?â
âYou misheard,â she responded and stuck to her guns.
Orlando looked gentle and smiled faintly, but there was no hint of laughter in his tone. âAlright, my bad. I havenât caten enough. Iâll have some food sent over. Can you join me for a meal?â
Cassandra didnât say anything.
He repeated, âCassandra, Iâll take it as a yes if you donât speak.â
Then, he reached for his phone by the side and called Taylor, asking him to bring over some food.
Orlando didnât eat because it wasnât the right time for him to eat. Instead, it was intentionally prepared for Cassandra.
As Cassandra ate, she couldnât help but wonder. âWhy did he do this? Why is he being so nice to me?â
It was often said that gifts blinded the eyes.
Cassandra had to stay and take care of Orlando after the meal.
She also secretly asked Nellie if staying in the hospital would do anything to Baby
Nellie said. âNah, but it messes with my mood. Why do you have to talk to Orlando? Rebecca should be looking after him.â
Cassandra just smiled faintly and said, ght. But weâre married, so I canât avoid this responsibility. As for Rebecca, I
âYouâre
think she suffers the most when I spend the night at the hospital.
Cassandra was right. Rebeccaâs bad mood was obvious because Cassandra stayed at the hospital.
Although Cassandra stayed for the first night, Rebecca arrived early the next morning.
She purposely brought the chicken chowder made by the chef of Dustmeadow Mansion.
It was still early. Orlando hadnât had enough slee
Last night, he hardly slept because of the pain from his wound. He didnât fall asleep until almost dawn.
At this moment, he was awakened by Rebeccaâs arrival. His face was as cold as ice and filled with displeasure.
Rebecca smiled gently, âLandy, I asked the chef to make some chowder. But thereâs none for Cassandra. Cassandra, if you are hungry, youâll need to get your own breakfast. Is that okay with you?â
Cassandra glanced at her indifferently and didnât want to talk.
Rebecca paused for a moment. She was slightly aggrieved, but soon, she smiled warmly at Orlando and said, âLet me feed you. Do you like it? If not, I will ask the chef to cook something else for you, okay?â
She held the thermos and a spoon. She scooped a spoonful of chowder and blew on it before feeding Orlando.

Just put them here.â Orlando looked away.
Rebecca was immediately sad by the rejection. âLandy, are you okay? Are you feeling unwell? Does the wound hurt again? Do you want me to apply the ointment for you?â
âNo, I just havenât washed up yet.â Orlando remained sullen and indifferent.
Rebecca added. âLandy, how about letting me stay and take care of you today? Cassandra must be tired and probably have no energy left, right?â
âMs. Spencer, youâre so considerate. You keep claiming that the family chef made this. Those who didnât know better will think itâs really your family.â Cassandra smiled faintly.
Rebecca froze. She lowered her head and whispered, âCassandra, are you unhappy? My bad for not bringing some for you earlier. I wasnât sure if you liked it or not, soâ¦â
âYouâre overthinking.â Cassandra glanced at her indifferently and then went to get the things for Orlando to freshen up.
After Orlando washed up, Taylor also came and brought breakfast.
Orlando said in a low voice, âGo and eat
He was talking to Cassandra.
She glanced at Orlando and said nothing in the end.
After that, Rebecca wanted to continue feeding Orlando chowder but was rejected. Orlando said, Iâll do it myself. These two days, youâre probably getting ready for the comeback of your single, right? Howâs it going?â
âIâm doing okay. Maybe Iâve been away from singing for too long, my voice doesnât feel the same as before. Landy, do you think Iâm really not cut out for singing anymore?â Rebecca looked guilty.
Orlando comforted her in a low voice, âNo. Giving it your all is the best you can do.â
âOkay, Landy, Iâll listen to you. I will continue to work hard.â Rebecca smiled, fully showing the allâinâforâlove vibe.
Cassandra sat on the other side eating food, which was obviously delicious, but she couldnât enjoy it and found it hard to
swallow.
