Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 72
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 72
Orlando also put down his fork and wiped his mouth with a tissue, looking at Cassandra afterward. He said, âI wish to make the birthday banquet livelier so Grandpa can be happy. And Iâll officially invite the Jackson family with you tonight.â
He didnât ask Cassandra for her opinions, only stating his decision.
The Jackson family would definitely be invited to Peterâs birthday banquet, and it was better for Cassandra to go together with Orlando instead of going alone.
At least it would save some unnecessary conflicts and trouble in that way.
Cassandra had no objections to Orlandoâs decision, so she nodded and said, âOkay. Iâll do as you say.â
Iâll pick you up tonight, replied Orlando.
Cassandra rejected, âI can drive there myself. Letâs meet at the Jackson residenceâ¦â
Orlando interrupted her, âCassandra, weâre a married couple. No couple will move separately.â
With Orlandoâs deep voice and determined attitude, Cassandra felt that Orlando was behaving a little differently than usual.
Cassandra pursed her lips and kept quiet, and Orlando considered her silence a tacit agreement.
Since Orlando had a meeting to attend, Cassandra left after staying for a while.
She returned to her company and wanted to discuss the interior design modification matters with Michael, but Michaelâs assistant said, âMr. Collins hasnât returned yet.â
âHasnât returned yet?â Cassandra repeated with a frown and gave Michael a call, but no one answered, and the call hung up automatically.
Cassandra didnât think much and returned to her office, assuming Michael might be busy.
Cassandra stayed busy until the time of getting off work when her phone rang. Seeing the name on the screen, she squinted slightly and smiled in surprise.
She answered the call immediately, âHello!â
âYou havenât contacted me for a long time. Cassandra, what a good friend you are, a woman said as her upsetting tone was heard from the phone.
Cassandra rubbed her temples and replied softly. âWhoever calls first loses. You want me to lose?â
âWhat? So you want me to lose instead?â the woman replied.
âOf course not. Cassandra chuckled and then asked, âWhy the sudden call?â
âIâm coming to Broburgh next month for some business. Is it convenient for us to meet?â the woman asked.
Cassandraâs face turned gentle, and she replied delightfully, âDefinitely. Let me know in advance when youâre coming. Iâll arrange a place for you to stay.â
âCan I stay at your house?â the womary asked.
âIf you want to, said Cassandra.

âGood. Be patient and wait for my arrival then, the woman replied.
After chatting for a while, they ended the call.
Cassandra was really happy, showing an obvious smile on her face. She then noticed a message from Orlando one minuteâ¦â¦. ago, [Iâve reached.]
After replying to Orlando, she tumed off her computer and left the office with her ba
When she passed Michaelâs office, she immediately asked, âMichael hasnât returned yet?â
Michaelâs assistant replied, âYes. I called him, but no one answered.â
Cassandra frowned. After looking at the time, she said, âKeep contacting him. Once he responds, ask him to send me at
message.
âUnderstood, the assistant replied.
When Cassandra left the building, Orlando was already waiting by the roadside.
Cassandra sat in the passenger seat and fastened her seat belt. She looked at Orlando and asked, âBeen waiting for a long
time?
âNot long. Who were you talking to just now?â Orlando asked back.
âA friend, Cassandra replied.
Seeing Cassandra had no intention of continuing the topic, Orlando did not ask more.
It was a smooth ride to the Jackson residence.
The Jackson family didnât know that Cassandra and Orlando were coming, so when the couple walked into the house, they heard Evelyn say unhappily, âCassandra sure becomes rebellious now, even daring to fight back. We shouldnât have taken her back in the first place, let alone married her to the Quinn family. She wouldnât have dared to treat me like this otherwis it werenât for her, would our family even come to an end?â
Evelynâs voice sounded almost hysterical when she was criticizing Cassandra, even blaming all the dissatisfaction and responsibility on her.
Immediately after, Suzanne comforted Evelyn and whispered, âMom, calm down. Your heart is unwell, and the doctor said you need to keep in a good mood. As for Cassandra and Orlandoâs divorce, thatâs a business between a married couple. We canât interfere too much.â
Evelyn said, âEven if theyâre a couple, Cassandra should not forget that sheâs still from the Jackson family. I donât expect her to do anything for us, but I hope she wonât drag us down. Look at those rumors spread around. How nasty they are!â
Suzanne replied, âMaybe itâs just a misunderstanding. Thomas is a playboy, so I donât think Cassandra has any contact with him.â
Evelyn retorted, âSuzanne, donât make excuses for her. Cassandra didnât grow up by my side, so I donât know what kind of person she is.â
Cassandra stood in the foyer with an indifferent face, tightening her clenched hand on the shoe cabinet. Orlando narrowed his eyes slightly and held her, guiding her into the house.
He said with a lowered tone, âIf Cassandra and I didnât come here today, we wouldnât know how dissatisfied you are with us.â Both Evelyn and Suzanne turned shocked. After feeling her face froze slightly, Evelyn hurriedly stood up and said,

Orlando, youâre here! Have a seat.â
She glanced at Cassandra, blaming her for not telling her about their arrival.
Suzanne hurriedly asked a housekeeper to make coffice and whispered. âOrlando, why didnât you tell us in advance that youâre coming? We would have ordered our chef to prepare dishes.â
Iâm accompanying Cassandra, Orlando said as lie took Cassandra to sit down, never letting go of her hand.
Cassandra didnât speak the whole time. Her face was indifferent, with her eyes filled with alienation and coldness.
Just then, Austin entered the house. Although he was Orlandoâs fatherâinâlaw, his status in the business field was still lower than that of Orlando. Therefore, he would behave politely before Orlando.
Cassandra and Orlando didnât intend to stay for dinner. After exchanging pleasantries, Cassandra said, âWe came to tell you something.
Evelynâs face turned cold immediately, and she said, âCassandra, donât be ungrateful. And stop thinking about getting a divorce. You should be grateful that Orlando did not care about your awful affairs. Whyâre you still trying to be obnoxious?â
With her lips pursed. Cassandra looked indifferent.
Suzanne immediately held Evelynâs hand and said, âMom, stop that. Orlando is still here.â
Upon hearing that, Evelyn stopped scolding.
Cassandra replied calmly, âSo everything done by me, a daughter who didnât grow up by your side and whom you donât fully understand, is wrong, huh?â
âYouâ¦â Evelyn uttered
âWeâre here to invite you all to attend Grandpa Peterâs birthday banquet in the Quinn manor in a few days, Cassandra interrupted Evelyn coldly, stating her aim of coming here.
The atmosphere quieted down as well. Evelynâs expression changed slightly, but there was no hint of apology from her, keeping silent instead.
Austin hurriedly replied, âOkay, Orlando. Weâll attend on time. We wish Mr. Peter Quinn a happy birthday in advance.â âThank you,â Orlando replied and got up with Cassandra. Austin asked them to stay for dinner, but Orlando refused, âCassandra and I are going out to eat and watch a movie together.â
Under the astonished gaze of the other three, he left the Jackson residence with Cassandra.
Suzanne whispered, âOrlando seems to have a good relationship with Cassandra. Mom, youâd better watch your mouth in the future.â
After saying that, she went upstairs, with her emotions and thoughts hidden in her mind suppressed deeply.
Outside the mansion, Cassandra and Orlando got into their car, but Orlando didnât start the engine. Cassandra looked at him in surprise and asked, âWhat are you waiting for?â
âWhere do you want to go?â Orlando asked.
âHuh?â Cassandra exclaimed in confusion.
