Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 77
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 77
Silence was her only answer at the end.
Gabriela started to realize that something was wrong between the couple and hurriedly assured, âCassie, I believe you, so can you tell me what happened?â
Cassandra pursed her lips and stared at Orlando as profound disappointment filled her.
She told herself, âCassandra, have you finally realized who he only cares about? Stop your wishful thinking!
She took a deep breath and said airily, âOrlando, believe it or not, I have no intention of hurting myself. It was Rebecca who pushed me. Of course, you can choose to trust her. After all, my words have no credibility to you.â
Then, she looked at Gabriela and said, âGabriela, Iâm heading back to Dustmeadow Mansion. Iâm fine, so donât worry about me. Today is Grandpa Peterâs birthday, but most of the things that happened today seemed to have something to do with me, so Iâm really sorry about that.â
âWhat are you saying, you silly child? Weâre a family. Frederick, Peter, and I believe you and are on your side.â Gabriela understood the implications behind Cassandraâs words, looked at Orlando, and said, âHead back with Cassie.â
âNo,â Cassandra quickly refused. She added, âIâll go back by myself, Gabriela.â
After that, she pulled back the covers and got out of bed. The whole process was so fast that she didnât spare another glance at Orlando.
Orlandoâs face became darker, and his frown deepened at the sight of the stubbornness on Cassandraâs pale countenance.
Cassandra drove away from the Quinn manor. Her heart felt empty as she departed. It was not that she was unaware of Orlandoâs bias toward Rebecca. She knew but did not give up and insisted on asking.
She sighed deeply as the disappointment in her heart grew.
She thought silently, âA year of marriage canât even get him to trust me. Isnât it ridiculous? Cassandra. Oh, Cassandra! Youâ truly useless!â

Meanwhile, at the Quinn manor, Gabriela glared at Orlando. âWhatâs the matter with you? Has Rebecca cast a spell on you? You donât trust your wife but trust her?â
Orlando did not say a thing as a solemn expression crossed his face. Anger surged within Gabriela, but it was not like she could ditch her son. All she could do was glare at him silently several times before turning around and leaving.
He stood there for a long time. Cassandraâs beautiful face flashed across his mind,
He saw her every
emotion.
After a minute of silence, Orlando left the room, going in search of the butler to extract the surveillance footage near the
pool.
Orlandoâs handsome face tensed, and his dark eyes turned glacial at the scene playing on the screen.
A while later, he deleted the footage and strode toward the parking lot.
âAre you leaving, Landy? Can you give me a ride?â Just as Orlando was about to open the door and get in the car, a womanâs gentle voice came from behind.

He turned around and saw Rebecca walking slowly toward him, holding Benitaâs hand. Her eyes were fixed on him expectantly, waiting for a response.
With an indifferent expression and no emotions in his eyes, Orlando didnât speak for a long time. Rebecca was a little flustered but still pretended to be calm on the surface.
Rebecca felt a little embarrassed as people pulled away from the parking lot, witnessing the scene. She released Benitaâs hand and walked closer to Orlando. âLandy, why donât you say something?â
She looked over her shoulder at Benita and said, âBenita, why donât you go back first? Iâll be riding with Landy.â
Benita nodded and said, âOkay. Iâll leave then.â She raised her hand and waved it, then smiled at Orlando. âTake good care of Rebecca and send her home safely, Mr. Quinn.â
However, Orlando still didnât offer any response. Feeling embarrassed, Benita left hurriedly.
Rebecca didnât dare to look him in the eye, so she probed, âLandy, whatâs wrong with you?â
âHave your manager pick you up, okay?â He didnât answer her question but just glanced at her indifferently.
âLandy.â Rebeccaâs eyes instantly turned red from disbelief. She pursed her lips and said softly, âLandy, did Cassandra say something to you? I wanted to pull her up, but she didnât want me touching her, so Iâ¦â
âRebecca, I have work to do at the office, so have your manager pick you up,â Orlando interrupted Rebecca, then got in the car and left.
Rebecca stood in place for a long time in a daze. Many who came out of the house saw what had happened. Someone whispered, âIt seems that Rebecca and Mr. Quinn are not that close. It feels like wishful thinking on her part, but Mr. Quinn seems indifferent toward her.â
âI think so, too. Even though sheâs a celebrity, the Quinn family doesnât lack talents. Mr. Peter Quinn, Mr. Frederick Quinn, and Mrs. Quinn donât seem to favor her from their attitudes tonight. In my opinion, it is unlikely that she will marry into the Quinn family. I think the Quinn family likes Cassandra very much. Maybe she will marry Mr. Orlando Quinn in the future. Who knows?â another responded.
The people discussing didnât care that Rebecca could hear them clearly, standing not far away, and it seemed that they deliberately wanted her to hear them.
Rebeccaâs hands clenched into fists, and her face darkened..
She blamed everything on Cassandra and was even more certain that Cassandra must have said something to Orlando. Otherwise, his attitude would not have turned so cold to her out of the blue.
In the end, Rebecca had to ask her manager to pick her up. As soon as she hung up the phone, she saw Suzanne approach her.
They obviously knew each other.
Suzanne stared at her coldly. âRebecca, donât you know Orlando is married to Cassandra? Why are you stuck to him like a parasite? Donât you feel disgusted with how youâre acting?â
âWho are you to judge me, Suzanne? Donât think I donât know about your feelings toward Landy. I refuse to believe that youâre not even the slightest bit jealous of Cassandra. Donât you think youâre more disgusting when the man you like has become your brotherâinâlaw?â Rebecca/retorted.
Suzanneâs expression changed slightly, but she still maintained her dignified ladylike image and said nonchalantly, âSo what? That was before Orlando got married. Now that heâs my sisterâs husband, I wonât have any misgivings about him. As for you, Rebecca, youâre a public figure, so donât do anything that toe the baseline of morality. If you wronged my sister, our family

will not let this slide.
âYou keep saying that Cassandra is your sister, Suzanne. Do you really think of her as your sister, though? You know best how your parents treat her. Didnât this happen all because theyâre biased toward you? After all, youâre the one who wronged her the most.â Rebecca chuckled, her eyes full of provocation.
Suzanne instantly fell silent at her words.
She watched Rebecca leave arrogantly and didnât respond for a long time. Rebeccaâs words were like a key opening the Pandoraâs box of memories in her mind, turning the expression on her face stiffer and stiffer.
