Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma by Jean Oscar ( Cassandra Jackson ) Chapter 82
Ex-Husband’s Love Dilemma
Chapter 82
Rebeccaâs face turned pale. She looked at Orlando stiffly and asked quietly, âOrlando, are you kicking me out? I didnât expect it to make it known to everyone last night. If I had known this earlier, I wouldnât have let you go.â
Orlando kept quiet with an indifferent expression.
Rebecca was completely unconfident when she saw him being like this. She shouldnât comment further, so she could only follow his orders and take the takeout container. She whispered, âLandy, donât be angry with me, okay? I didnât mean to. If you are unhappy because you were trending when picking me up last night, Iâll immediately issue a statement clarifying that we are just friends. As for those reporters who circulate baseless rumors, Iâll also sue them. Will you be happier if I do this?â
Orlando stared at her solemnly, and he still looked indifferent. He didnât reply, but the displeasure in his eyes was so obvious that it was difficult for people to ignore.
Rebecca pursed her lips. She felt that she couldnât get a response after saying so much, and she couldnât control. herself anymore.
She questioned, âLandy, why arenât you talking? Are you trying to tell me that youâre not going to get a divorce and that I should stay away from you in the future?â
âRebecca, why are you so insecure?â Orlando frowned slightly while asking faintly.
Rebecca went silent abruptly when she heard his retort.
No doubt he was telling her that she was not as confident as Cassandra and liked to let her imagination cun wild.
Rebecca wanted to explain, but she was afraid of annoying him, so she didnât say anything eventually.
When she walked out of the office, she met Taylor.
Her face stiffened slightly, and her eyes were teary. âMr. York, is Landy very angry about him trending?â
Taylor was a very observant person. Since Rebecca came to deliver lunch, she shouldnât have comeâout so soon.. He was sure that the lunch was untouched, and she had an argument with Orlando, who was furious at her.
Taylor raised his head slightly and replied faintly, âMs. Spencer, I canât predict whatâs on Mr. Quinnâs mind. If you would like to know anything, you should just ask him directly.â
Although Rebecca was unhappy, she did not lose her temper. She just nodded and left.
Chapter 82
Only after watching Rebecca enter the elevator, did Taylor open the door and enter the office.
Taylor told Orlando all about his conversation with Rebecca. Orlando didnât give any obvious reaction. It seemed
that he never wanted to mention this matter.
After a moment of silence, he instructed indifferently, âCancel tonightâs social engagement. I will drive home by myself.â
Taylor was slightly stunned and nodded. âUnderstood. Iâll arrange it right away.â
âBy the way, were there any results about the matter Iâve asked you to investigate?â Orlando asked gloomily.
âThere is no obvious progress. The people who interacted were the usual familiar ones. No oneâs suspicious,â Taylor responded.
âKeep observing. Donât spare anyone who comes in contact.â His blue eyes narrowed slightly. Some truth had been completely revealed, and the people involved had appeared one by one. Soon, there would be war.
Cassandra didnât get back to the office until about 3 p.m.
She had lunch with Amelia casually outside. Probably because of the afterâeffect of a fever, she felt exhausted just after doing some work.
Seeing her tired and pale face, Michael poured her a glass of warm water. âCassie, why donât you head back to rest first?â
âI canât. I just discussed the shortcomings of the interior design with Mr. Wright. I need to make amendments immediately and show it to him tomorrow,â Cassandra stated.
âThereâs no rush. There will always be work pouring in. You can rest on the couch first, and I will wake you up later, okay?â Michael took her notebook away instantly and insisted she lie down on the couch.
Cassandra didnât argue with him. She didnât refuse because she was doing it for herself and the baby in her
stomach.
She slept for a long time. Michael didnât wake her up until it was time to get off work. He cautiously entered her office.
The ray of sunset shone through the window. Cassandra was still sleeping soundly on the couch. Her eyelashes were slightly curled, her tanned face was flawless, and her tender lips were gently closed.
Michael stood there condescendingly and stared at her. His gaze was getting deeper and deeper, while his Adamâs apple was bobbing up and down.
He had loved Cassandra for many years. At first, he wanted to be with her but later, he was fine as long as she was happy. However, after she married Orlando, it was obvious that she had changed. She hardly smiled anymore. She was not herself. He felt sorry for her and hoped that she would divorce Orlando and cut off all relations with the Quinn family.
He half kneeled beside the couch, desiring to touch her face, but he was afraid that she would suddenly wake up. He halted just when his fingers were about to touch her.
He didnât want to wake her up like this, so he slowly leaned over and wanted to kiss her on the corner of her lips. Nonetheless, when his nose was about to touch the tip of her nose, his collar was suddenly grabbed from behind. He was pulled backward. âWhat are you doing?â
The manâs voice was low and cold, but he was suppressing his interrogative tone. He glared at Michael fiercely with his deep blue eyes. His handsome and stoic face didnât show any elegance or gentleness as usual. There was only ruthlessness left on his face.
Michael smiled faintly. âDidnât you see it? Do you need me to repeat it?â
As soon as Michael finished talking, he was punched in the face. It happened in a flash, so he couldnât dodge it,
Orlando grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out of the office. Then he punched Michael ruthlessly.
Michael didnât fight back at all. He was knocked to the ground and Orlando stared down at him with coldness and fury in his eyes. He warned Michael murderously, âMichael, you stay away from her. Youâre well aware of her status. If you dare to do it again, I donât mind using some means to make you disappear,â
âItâs not the first time that the Quinn family has made people disappear. Of course, I believe you.â Michael smiled lightly. Although he was in a terrible condition, he was as handsome and elegant as ever.
Orlando frowned slightly and didnât understand what he meant. He just warned icily, âDonât think that I dare not do anything to you because you are friends with her. You better hide your filthy thoughts. I am afraid she will be tainted if she knows about them.â
âMr. Quinn, who are you to tell me this?â Michael raised his head and smirked. âAs a husband? It seems that apart from this relationship, you and Cassie are not as close as I am to her. After all, the person she loves is not you. So what if youâre husband and wife?â
